- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Europe must develop its own version of Israel-style Iron Dome missile defence system. Tusk said he and other European leaders would present plans for an Israel-style ‘iron dome’ defence network to the European Council and Commission "in a few days."
Tusk made the remarks at a press conference with European Investment Bank (EIB) President Nadia Calvino in Warsaw. The EIB announced that it would give Poland €300 million ($326 million) towards the creation of a satellite system.The satellite system is expected to be integrated into an EU-wide missile defence network eventually.
Tusk added that “the idea of pan-European air defence will become less and less a dream and more and more a real, practical plan.”

@@whodaFru4551 There's no corporation they have to buy a set amount of Patriot missile batteries, integrate across a finite network. Which began with US producing 75%-80% of the equipment. Europe is not benefitting long term, even Israel is getting rid of their Patriots for more of their own SAMs.
So 300 million euros is not a lot, it seems very little for what they want to build...
But maybe for some... good "pocket money"
and if it will be as functional as in Israel on October 7, then it is a waste of money

@@johnsch1988 the military industrial complex MAKES money in export sales in the West....thus enriching the people with jobs and revenues and taxes. Only russia suffers from higher taxes (putin raised them last week!) and its industrial complex weapons, vehicles and ammo is all getting destroyed in ukraine and not sold for profit...so it takes away money twice as fast away from russia....speeding it towards bankruptcy and economic collapse!
