battery swapping is key for resale value of evs
No its not. Its a niche feature from Nio and nobody else.
@@wolfgangpreier9160 Not niche in China. Have you not seen their partnership agreements. Basically with every state owned manufacturer in China at this point. There will be millions of cars swapping per day within the next 3-5 years.
@@08Derrock Nio has sold 160.000 cars in China and supports 2300 swap stations.
That is what i call niche product.
Tesla - as only one example - has sold 600.000 vehicles and supports 13.000 chargers. And is still a niche product in a 30 million market.
@@wolfgangpreier9160 once again, you completely ignored my comment. They have partnered with nearly every single state owned car manufacturer that each sell hundreds of thousands if not millions of cars a year. NIO will most likely have 5k swap stations within the next few years, further increasing their infrastructure. They are very close to break even on this business model already the flood gates will open in the next few years once these partnerships come to fruition and NIOs sub brands ONVO and FIREFLY take the stage later this year with an addition 10k+-30k+ vehicles per month. You don’t seem to be forward thinking.
That's what i was thinking. Who wants to buy EV with half a dead battery
So far all EVs from NIO are well designed and really good looking.
It's amazing that NIO can come out with such refined design and the cutting edge technology! I love every one in their model lineup. Great taste NIO.
Don't forget that this is a Subrand of Nio!
Subrand like this high tech on Onvo is a game changer for the New SEV industry!
Bravo Nio Team!

Awesome video Elliot! Loving the content, bringing the latest in EVs to the rest of the world
😁
Bring one with you down under!
This is just d first of more in the ONVO lineup, I see nio & partners rolling out up to 10000 batt swap stations in China by 2030,
looks surprisingly good
Modern Chinese EV's tend to look pretty sleek on the outside. It's the inside where all the horrors lurk....😮

Nio / Onvo Amazing!!! 🤩🤩🤩
They have ticked ✅ all the boxes and beyond with battery swap!!!
Especially with Nio products you get the peace of mind which means the great quality on all areas!!!
I look forward for other new models 😍😍😍
This must go worldwide as soon as possible! 🎉🎉🎉
Well done Nio / Onvo
The technology in this car is amazing. I don't know why anybody would choose a Tesla Y over this ONVO.
Word.
Price - possibly, the insecurity of Chinese brands staying on the European market, supercharger network…
@@Scarbir Price and fear of longevity. True.
The charging point is an advantage for NIO given the fear of battery degradation is ease.
Not too long ago
Because it does not work as good as a Tesla. 🤷♀ I don't care for gimmicks or driving on the Mars. I care fo efficiency, low total cost of ownership and safety. Lidar is worthless without the Software. And that does not exist.
Good looking car!!! Plus swap feature!? That’s a no brainer!!!
This will boom NIO to the moooonnnnnnn

Bye bye.
We've been hearing that for the last 3 years, but it never materializes. Nothing but excuses from NIO.
Damn impressive car. Great video. Thx.
Gorgeous car looks so beautiful!!’ll buy. How much is the price for this ONVO when they get to SF (U S A)?
Beautiful, agree about the back.
I can't take my eyes off Eliot's shoes... and the dead mouse at 6.19 by the rear wheel! ;-)
Very well observed! Looks like this channel has more NIO/ONVO fanboys or (fanbots?) than the total number of NIO car owners outside of China
Great video Elliot
Thanks Ross
Beautiful car
I hope its my next car
Beautiful design 😍
It's a good name. It sounds like Envoy ( someone sent out as a messenger to represent another person or group, such as a country or business)
The Chinese name 乐道 means "happy road", as in Bon Voyage, which is probably more of what Onvo is trying to evoke. It's fine I think, although I do find the Chinese name rahter awkward sounding.
GO ONVO
Beautiful. I hope its my next car. What price and when is it available in Poland ? Greetings
The price in China is about $30000
In UE x 1,5 :(
It looks amazing! Go NIO🚀🚀🚀🔥🔥🔥
Does somebody know if it will have a voice assistant like Nomi?
I do find it odd that it will support battery swapping but does not come with NIO's standard 75/100/150 kWh NCM battery packs, which would then mean not every swap station will support Onvo, as NIO says they will refit about a third of their stations to be compatible with Onvo at the start. I guess the regular NIO packs are just too expensive for Onvo models. But OTOH if Onvo's come with cheaper LFP packs and are still able to be swapped, and can be leased at a cheaper price compared with NIO's packs, that could be interesting.
Plus now that Geely, Changan, Chery, and JAC are all partners with NIO on battery swapping, do the cheaper Onvo packs represent a new standardized swappable pack that might be compatible with ALL these carmakers? If so and they also start pitching in (Geely and Changan are some big hitters in the EV space in China) by building new swap stations, that could really make battery swapping far more mainstream.
Gen 3 and up swap stations support different battery sizes.
I think the issue is that regular NIO packs are 400V while the L6 needs 900V packs.

Actually really like design and with NIO technology it should be proper EV to drive to, hopefully will come to Europe 😊😊.
Elliot keep up with great work
thank you! Hope you get the chance to drive one soon
That’s a nice whip Bro. I’d Buy one for sure.
I would too here in the U.S but too bad the U.S government will prevent CHina EV from entering. They are afraid of competition and China's Nio is no joke.
That looks good!
The onvo looks amazing 😩😍
It’s beautiful.
Amazing car and technology for the price! A real hot seller for anyone looking for the “bang for the buck”.
200,000RMB? Not bad! Equivalent to about £22k/$28k (before any blinkered protectioneering tariffs or shipping costs). I really like the drive to efficiency - Tesla Model 3 is still the main benchmark for that, but all EVs need to be aiming at >5miles/kWh / 12kWh/100km territory, and not the 3ish/20ish that is currently seen as 'about right'.
28k in dollars? Earlier Chinese cars for the price easily translate to €45k - €48k in Europese, which will make this much less appealing unfortunately.
@@Scarbir Yeah, they do that, because the US or EU car manufacturers have been too used to overcharging for so long they've conditioned customers into thinking of cars as that sort of price. For example, VW charge about £15k for an iD3 in China, but 2.5 to 3x that in EU/UK. US buyers are the ones who are going to get the worst deal - they currently get some keen prices, but sticking a 100% tariff om these will just give Ford, GM, etc. an excuse to let the sticker cost drift upwards to match.
@@Scarbir BYD and Dongfeng cost between 2.1 and 3.7 times more than in China. Do the math.
Beautiful car! I wish we could have them in the states.
the states gov increase the 100% tax for ev car from china .
@@wangjianmikewe still buying
Don’t buy yet any EV in America, if USA have no competition it means their product is not innovative like some Chinese car brand . ex. Tesla has a lot of recall all of its model,, but Nio car I don’t see if there is a recall history, because if there is a recall it’s a big news already for the short.
It took a while but now we are getting somewhere with EV's. Best of luck to NIO. Telsa are making noises about leaving the auto industry in favour of robotics and FSD. Which is good. Telsa acted as the catalyst.
Tesla robot is years behind Asian robots. Good riddance if Tesla fails, it's just a bunch of d bags.
very good, ....take 100% import duty..as prize..
😂😆
You know a country is scared when they have to slap crazy high tariffs on imports cars just to try and keep Thier own car ev manufacturer slightly competitive 😂
No one will buy expensive Chinese cars😂
When the Chinese peps retaliate by not buying Teslas, Elon will be in Washington talking to Biden. And remember, that 100% tariff applies to Teslas made in China.

tesla's death by 1000 cuts
Tesla has started cutting production, engineering, and logistic staff at its Shanghai factory in another wave of layoffs, so it to must be seeing all these competitors cutting into Model Y sales much like the earlier wave of sedan EVs cutting into Model 3 sales in China.
Indeed, this can actually go global without swap infrastructure as charging is ultra fast
@@ciybersal3499 Good point
@@tren133yup Shanghai global sales down 10% this year. Great stuff
No its not. Nio is too expensive. And nobody wants battery swap. I would have to drive 600km to the next station. And 2m to the next 11kW charger. Guess what i chose.
