it is almost criminal how underrated beach music is. It is the most mellow and depressing of his records. Unlike most of his work, beach music has a hopeful sadness to it that just makes me cry. And trick is an easy S for me, it deserves the hype. Would have loved to see how god save the animals fit on this list 2 years later.
I agree, I love the song Bug and Kicker and Brite boy, but then I’m not a massive fan of Salt. There’s such a variation, and I love how abstract his music is.
Id have to put House Of Sugar up at S tier, it just sends me to another dimension!

Brite Boy was the song that introduced me to Alex G so I can’t help but feel a little biased towards it
I am of the belief that RACE is one of the greatest albums of all time. I’ve never had an emotional/sentimental attachment with music like I have with RACE

i feel with most artist there's a somewhat universally agreed best album or top few albums - the beauty with alex g is everything is so so good that everyone has there own favourites! Mine being Beach Music for sure
to me alex g does not have a bad album,i cannot say that about any other artist i like,thats so hard for artist i feel like nowadays

DSU is definitely my all time favorite works by alex. its just one of those albums where you start with the most popular songs, and as time passes, you find that all the normally skipped songs are the hidden gems and it is just such a sonic masterpiece. My favorite tracks are Boy, Hollow, Sorry, and Soaker :) (and skipper, i have so many favs but these are my most listened to!)

Monster head is actually a fan compilation of un released songs but it is definitely the best unreleased comp I have heard from Alex G fans

Great video(I just randomly came across this)! It's been a while since i've listened to Alex G so this introduced me to some things I wasn't aware of(I thought I knew all of his stuff but I hadn't ever heard of House of Sugar before so I guess I am a bit behind). Trick is great and might be my favourite ever album artwork. Almost wish all the unreleased stuff was put onto a compilation double LP or something.
Rocket’s definitely my favourite of his albums! Very nice tier list.

I only listen to about four albums of his maybe and My favourite is beach music, Bug is my favourite song. I first heard of him from that new movie that he scored.

:^) a nice video. When I listened to Easy, I also instantly loved it. Aside from the general artistry of his style, I feel like the music holds a loving & vulnerable feel. And that's what got me hooked.

I'm so happy with this tier list.. (I was scared you wre going to give race a low rating!) Most of my friends don't care for race as much and for a lot of them, their favorite album is house of sugar. I don't personally get it but whatever. I'm happy to have friends that like Alex G!

I FORGOT HIS ALBUM 'Hit' & IT'S DEFINITELY AN A TIER ALBUM FOR ME
So far I love “Runner”, and “Mission” and some other songs are pretty good as well. He just has a weird style of mixing his stuff and I’m not sure I’m fully on board with it. So the only other album I can say that I liked was “Trick”. Feels like babies first Elliott Smith, and he was young so yeah. The newer stuff feels like babies first Sparklehorse. I don’t think he has released a great, cohesive album yet. I think he is still learning and growing in his cocoon, and I’m thinking since God Save the Animals was so close to being a great album, that maybe 2 or 3 albums from now he may finally leave his cocoon as a butterfly with a masterpiece in hand. We will see. He seems promising.
