  • It's time to show my Mira some love. Today I am taking the day to thoroughly clean my beast of a machine! From the honey comb tray, to the blades, and nozzle, the optics and chiller, I'll show you how I clean it all. Please keep in mind that the suggestions I make in this video are just that, suggestions. How often you clean your machine will greatly depend on how frequently you are using it. Someone who runs their laser 40 hours a week will certainly need to clean it much more frequently than someone who uses it spare time.
    Materials:
    Distilled Water
Totally Awesome (You can also dilute it with water to make it last longer)
    Rags
    Q-Tips
    Gloves
    Plastic Storage Bin
    Plastic Sheeting
    Pressure Cleaner (Optional)
    Lens Cleaning Kit

Thank You!!! My vector files got squiggly. I think it's time to clean. My best guess is that scraps are building in the bottom and affecting gears and belts.

That Totally Awesome is great stuff, though I think you could have diluted it quite a bit (4 part water to 1 part cleaner) and ended up with the same results.

Can you, please, tell me what brand of linear guide rails and carriages does your laser use? We are gonna start a small engraving business soon here in central Europe and we can't decide between Thunder laser Odin 22 and Mira 7.

Are you still using alcohol to clean the inside after the awesome cleaner? I was wondering if alcohol would eventually dry out the rubber seal on the lid and damage it. Thanks!

There are some areas of my Glowforge (like the door right in front of the honeycomb tray) that seem to build up lots of resin from burning wood. I solved that problem by covering the area with some wide tape, and when it gets gunky I just peel off the tape and put down a new layer. BTW if you are considering getting a laser, the Glowforge is easy to use, but a nightmare to clean.

Hello and thanks for your very helpful videos. I have to tell you that after your videos i loved mira so i bought one!! But i face a problem. When i am cutting wood flames are appearing at the beam. After a search on the net i found some options saying that in this issue air pressure helps but in my nozzle i can feel no air. Is this ok for mira or i have to do something? Thanks!!!

    • @ThatMomWithALaser
      @ThatMomWithALaser  3 роки тому

Hi! I'm so glad you are enjoying the content on my channel. You definitely want air when cutting. Which country are you in? I would be sure to contact the company you got your machine from to have them help you troubleshoot.

Did you add a smoke blower underneath the table?
Just wondering, becaus this slider under your blades are open and in your other videos i realized there's not a lot smoke in comparison to mine Mira 7.

holy crap, that's a ton of cash on Awesome for now reason, soak them in dawn and hot water, that it. Stubborn stains use denatured alcohol and awesome if needed. BTW send me the awesome and I will use it for the right reasons like cleaning and making cash on tumblers.
