Canucks blew a 4-1 lead and then let the in full rebuild mode Flames come back to tie, and then take the lead, only for the Canucks to come back Late in the third period to send it to OT only to LOSE in OT 😂😂😂😂 As a Flames fan I find it hilarious. I _want_ us to lose as much as possible this year so we can get a top-five or potentially top-three draft pick next year, especially since we got cheesed out of a number five draft pick this year all because we won two more completely irrelevant games at the end of the year, than we should’ve. That’s right, there was only four points separating us at ninth overall and the Montréal Canadiens at fifth overall. When we had 14 games remaining in the season we had hit the final crossroads: either we win all 14 games remaining and finish with 99 points for wildcard spot, OR we lose all 14 games remaining which would allow for several teams to pass us in the standings and the best spot we could get would be fifth overall pick. We went 5-9 to close out the year, and if we would’ve gone 3-11 we would’ve finished 1 point below the Habs. Which is incredibly frustrating…why couldn’t we lose 2 more games? When we want to win we lose too much, and when we want to lose we win too much. How are we supposed to rebuild if we keep getting 9th to 16th overall pick? Also, getting 9th overall this year let Arizona/Utah draft the son of our #1 all time career hockey player and captain 2 picks ahead of us at 6th overall, even when he was rated lower than our pick at 9th. TWO GAMES that we should’ve lost prevented us from picking him. Two totally irrelevant games after we had already been eliminated from the playoffs and that the only thing we needed to do was lose. To be a Flames fan is to live in near eternal disappointment with brief pauses here and there for decent seasons.
