I realized I had the lion mentality when I made the choice to rise above average three years ago. I had made a mess out of my life for close to 10 years and God directed me to two people, who became mentors and guides in my life. I had to resit for my high school certificate examination twice - I failed Math in the first examination, but made 6 A's and 2 B's, hence emerging the overall best in my school after the second examination. I am not satisfied with this. I want more in the university and in my career. However, the help is not forthcoming as I expected. I am not giving up. I will go to school and yield good returns from the investments made in me. I will hunt till I get my gazelle, and never be crippled like an alligator once full. I want more and I am never going to settle for less. If you are a philanthropist, kindly make good investment in some of us. We equally need you to rise in life. God bless us all.
Determination and willpower are great things, but don't let them become too much pressure that makes you tired and demotivated. Life is not just about "the chase" but also about balance and joy. Remember that failure is also part of the journey and an opportunity to learn. Don't put too much pressure on yourself and know when to take a break and reevaluate your goals.
