Zino introduced me to fougere fragrances and made Beau de jour a top 5 in my collection for me.

I love this fragrance. In my opinion, the original formulation was a little better, but the current formulation has held up really well. It is discontinued, so at some point, the price is going to start to climb. My advice is to try it and if you like the smell, get it now while the price while the price is great.
I don't think there's a single example of an older scent where the new formulation is better, Grey flannel, Dunhill Edition etc etc...
Ive had this fragrance for years and its been collecting dust as of late. Thanks for reminding me of it. I might just wear it tomorrow!
I get why you didn’t fall instantly in love with it. I had a little shock myself when I first applied it. But it lasted for a minute or so. Then, OMG! I was in love. A true classic. Became one of my favorites in a few minutes. It made me nostalgic to the good old eighties. I hope it will never be discontinued.
I do own a bottle of this one. It's not bad but it's not for everyone. Thanks for watching for watching and for sharing your thoughts.
fantastic rose fragrance i have a vintage lancaster bottle its great far better than beau de jour and the tom ford isnt a rose fragrance
This fragrance is top notch. Definitely an original. I have always loved it. I did wear it in the eighties and probably will always have a bottle. So many good memories attached to this scent as well. This is for the classy gentleman.

Love it, this was my dads signature scent. Its still smells good but longevity really suck. Still a classic nonetheless

I got a sample of Zino last year. Every once and a while, I wear it. And, a year later, I STILL can’t decide if I like it. I take a sniff. I think, “Hey, that’s classy.” But then I ask myself, “But does anyone want to smell it all day- including me?”
I still don’t know.
It is certainly a good fragrance. It is dark and bright and bold and creamy all at the same time.
But, I just can’t think of a time to wear it. A wedding? Church? A formal meeting with the Loyal Order of the Moose? An old-timey gangster car chase while brandishing a Tommy gun?
I just don’t know.
Maybe I’d just get a bigger sample from Fragrance Decant Boutique and make it a rare occasion scent.

That's a hell of a price.
I really enjoy the stuff. Actually was lucky enough to find a vintage bottle in Mississauga a while ago and it's got the Guerlain Heritage edt drydown too. Bit more vanillin, but clear as day. Haven't smelled the newest batches, but I would imagine they're not that far off. Prices haven't gone up on it either it seems. Glad I took the plunge myself because it was better than some people made it out to be.
Chad, I have not tried Zino by Davidoff but I like old school fragrances. I trust Rush and if it smells like Beau De Jour by Tom Ford, which I love, I will be buying this classic fragrance.

Starts off as a prickly, woody fougère, and ends up being a floral amber - this split personality is quite bizarre, but lovely in both states. Discussing the initial phase is not doing it justice.
I used to rock this a long time ago. It was one of my favorites.
Great for hot summer nights and cold winter days.
If you enjoy this, try out Heritage by Guerlain which came later, it's like a distant upscale posh cousin to Zino.
Good juice. I have to dress this one up when when I wear it. Appreciate the review.

Zino was better in a term of projection and lasting...I am thinking on vintage version.this current version is good,but lacks of that..Zino Davidoff is my favourite perfum.Guerlain Heritage and Beau de Jour are made up on him.
Still better in drydown than those two

BDJ is Cheaper , 150 for 100 ml with 2-4 sprays last 12-14 hours and projects like crazy. Zino 30 for 100 ml with 8-10 sprays and doesnt projects more than 1 hour and its a skin scent after 2-3 hours. So yeah BDJ is cheaper ....
BDJ is also weak

Compare "UDY for Men" with it ..................... they smell same
People saying that ZIno does what Beau De jour does , Doesnt belong to Fragrance hobby in my opinion . They are misleading people . Yeah Zino is amazing , But Beau De jour is way better more aromatic more complex more realistic notes and Last and Projects Waaay Longer .
I'd say it's closer to Guerlain's Heritage EDT (however a bit less refined and more animalic/bold) than it is to TF Beau de Jour which I find fresher and more minty in some kind of way.
Matter of fact, I would say there's a similarity between these 3 as well as Penhaligon's Sartorial, which is also very close to Beau de Jour but with a strong honey facet.
Zino has a pleasant boldness to it and overall for the price is quite great.
Exactly i have all of them Beau de jour is fresher more aromatic and modern, and other than that the quality is like Penhaligons very good and last and projects way more than Zino ... Ok Zino is great i understand that ... But saying its like Beau de jour ? no way ...

Just bought it and received it now, to my nose it resembles a Floral tamed version of Encre Noir A l'extreme but side by side Comparison they're different...IDK🤷🏻♂️

Nope People that use both of them dont agree, they have the shame scent profile and other than that nothing . BDJ is more fresh aromatic with better quality , projection longevity .

I have BDJ and its one of my fav. I also have Zino they have the same scent profile but Quality , Longevity and projection on BDJ is way better also BDJ is more fresh aromatic and drydown is more clean , Zino is more dirty . So i bought Zino because its cheap and i have it on my car spray every 2-3 hours doesnt last more ( its a skin scent after 1-2 hours) But its ok for the price.

No, it's bad, it's somewhere between horrible and 1931. It's basically P - repellant. and it does not matter what P is your preference. Zino Davidoff was born in Kiev in 1906, and that's what this smells like, 1906 (it's that old school in the nastiest kind of way).
