Demon Kings Signature Spell? 14:37
Spell Counters/ Power System 15:21
Kraft? Goddess? 16:17
there is new chapter now release on dec6. it has been proven that even soltaire is scared and bluffing himmel. even thought there is 3 vs 3
Did really the hero party kill the demon king? I'm not a reader hahahaha
These explanation is just favor in this youtuber 😅
Lose the AI voice over...if you're not a media company and just spamming for clicks.
in a 4 v 1 the demon king loses and can't kill a single one of them and in a 1 v 7 the hero of the south kills 3 of them and loses. really makes you think 🤔 maybe end of journey heros party could have defeated all 7 sages of destruction at the same time 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
the fact that nobody could make a better barrier than Flamme even 1000 years later is insane
i believe only serie and frieren can dispel her barrier, or they have the same barrier technique since they bore the same magic.
as master and apprentice
I think it’s because the barrier grew in strength over time, as symbolized as her putting it on a small sapling
Macht of El Dorado could have dispel the barrier in quite sometime. But he chose not to because he was too damn arrogant so that he couldn't bring himself to learn human's magic techniques😂😂😂
it was never said no one could make a better barrier than her. it was said her barrier kept the demons away, even after 1000 years. I bet Serie could make an even stronger barrier, she's the one who teach Flamme everything after all.
@@boboyo3140 Where does it say Serie was the one who taught Flamme everything? You're attacking a logical fallacy with the same fallacy.
Kraft's reply to "Frieren was in the party that defeated the demon king" just being "and before that?" kind of tells us that he's thinking of things on a different scale. Like, he was expecting that to just be her latest achievement and not her greatest one.
Judging from that kraft was like a boss whose not impressed by her experience.. trully savage one
I believe it's much more of the fact that elves just live for such a long time. Calling frieren the mage of the hero party is ignoring the many many years she lived before that.
@swordyshield or the fact that frieren didnt show herself before defeating the deamon king. Like how that one demon also hid herself in order to be a secret weapon of some sort
kraft also said frieren was young lol
@@silver_ag2578elves are usually depicted as immortal beings in fiction. With the only way of them passing on being: either being killed or them losing the will to live.
The Hero of the South managed to kill 3 of the Sages of Destruction while fighting the seven of them as a group - alone, as far as we know.
That was actually 8 v 1 because schlatt was also there, which I don't think Frieren knows. And the Hero of the South killed 3 sages plus Schlatt, who has Dr. Strange levels of future sight.
everything you guys mentioned is explained in the video
@@N0noy1989didn't both schlatt and the hero of the south have the ability to see the future?
@@N0noy1989Frieren already knows it, read chapter 63. The story is being told by Frieren lol. the Hero of the South already revealed to Frieren of his battle with the sages and Schlacht where he losses his life. read it
@@yonjiru4919 indeed. It was actually the hero of the south who told frieren of Himmel, iirc.
When Frieren spoke of Serie's power she described her as the being closest to the Goddess.
Could it be possible that Serie is actually the one that they all call the Goddess of Creation? All depictions of the Goddess give her Elfin features and the people of the mythical era probably mistook serie's incredible magic as divine power
Correction, the person who said that, was a mage named Richter who explained it to her in Ch. 43
@@Ditto_3 not really. The magic of the goddess is different, to the point that mages can't wield it. That's what clerics use, by decoding fragments of it from scriptures. You need the texts, a certain amount of understanding of them and also a special disposition to use divine magic, and even then what it deciphered so far is less than 3%. Series is probably the most powerful mage in most of history, but the Goddess has no limitations and is on a totally different scale.
but is the goddess a mage from the Mythical era? Has Serie mentioned about her before?@@HenriqueErzinger
Serie FROM the mythical era. she is ancient.@@rabbitazteca23
I recall that Flamme noted that Serie is able to take on the Demon King, but she will "win the battle but lose the war" so to speak. She may be able to defeat him, but it won't bring about world peace because Serie herself cannot envision peace, as she is a warmonger. They did always repeat the phrase in the manga, "magic is the world of visualization." Serie cannot visualize world peace, and so is not fit to defeat the Demon King, not that she doesn't have the strength to.
14:37 🙂💯
I'm a big Serie fan so I jumped straight to the comments when I saw her #2 xD @@OniiChanExplains
I was just about to make this exact same comment. Serie is likely the greatest magic user that has ever lived, but magic's only true limitation is the ability to envision the outcome and Serie is someone who simply cannot imagine a world without war. She can't truly envision the reality of a peaceful world. This is why the great mage Flamme always maintained it would be someone like Frieren who would eventually defeat the demons. It's because at heart Frieren is a kind and peaceful soul who does not see magic merely as a tool of war and destruction. This is what made Flame believe Frieren is the great mage that may someday bring peace to the world.
@@kirbyjoe7484and like the maker of this video mentioned this is exactly the reason why Himmel was able to defeat the Demon King. Blud promised a peaceful world and just went for it.
@@kevin8006 and he done that without the "hero sword"
Idgaf about power levels, Land is the chaddest chad in this series. Doesn’t take a single step out of his home village, passes all three tests (the last test while sipping tea and chilling outside his house). Also gets hot pyscho stalker in the process.
Are you talking about Übel?
Idk about Übel as win
I’m definitely curious about Kraft. Given that we know how age can make you powerful and it’s pretty clear Kraft predates Frieren by a decent margin, (who knows how large tho) dude is probably ridiculously strong, he just doesn’t have any outright feats yet aside from the fact that a weakling probably wouldn’t survive thousands of years without something eventually doing them in, especially not someone who travels.
My guess is that Kraft is a hero from before Flamme era, at that time his deeds were mostly forgotten.
I read kraft was a Warrior before becoming a monk, in the past he save a village and made a name for himself, but yeah he actually much older than frieren.
Edit: still I'm curious about him as well, since there's so little we know about him, and I don't know what I've read about him was accurate or not haha
he's probably the original owner of the Hero's Sword, at 16:25 we can see he's using a broadsword just like that the Hero's Sword
It's not that he doesn't have feats, just that no one alive remembers them.
My guess that Kraft came during or even before the Mythical era, whereas he knows who the Godness is, or even it's his wife. Then she achieved godhood through rumors and speculation, while Kraft became forgotten.
Also remember the real holy sword? That was Kraft sword because the sword on his statue and the real sword looked the same.
maybe in terms of raw power, himmel is weak, however in other areas like techniques, tenacity, cunning, fighting intellect, etc are far superior than others.
What I hope will come true is that Himmel's skill or ability is to defy any kind of destiny. With the show having so many characters that can see the future or that can control or manipulate others, having the ability to resist such control could become a key skill for defeating the demon king.
Think of how Rudeus in MT becomes a factor that completely changes the normal timeline.
Himmel's determination being powerful enough that it can defy any and every prediction.
Since magic is all about the ability to visualize, why can't a person's will do the same.
Spoiler
In terms of raw power, he is pretty much still stronger than normal humans, capable of killing 2 giant monsters as a kid. And manage to do little damage to bose's indestructible barrier with regular sword
@@iffatrazan5103I believe he compared it relative to the other character than actually fight. But yes, Himmel is actually mediocre. It is as TS said, Himmel won because he is wise in combat.
@@iffatrazan5103He is a heroic character, but he doesn't need to be a hero.
Also, on chapter 108
we can see himmel striking on enemy and create a visual of attack as high as a hill
so, calling himmel weak is quite understatement, maybe he not as strong as the sage or other demon.
but he totally not weak
100 % agree on Himmel's level. He defeated the Demon through teamwork and leadership, which makes him very interesting. Watching him feels like watching Edward Elric from FMAb, strong but not that op.
I think he was OP . Ofc he needed the teamwork but he must HV been super strong probably . There r some theories that say he was the hero of the south himself who came to the past.

Ubel is kind of a wild card because she is downright simple to understand
"it can be cut so I can cut it" that's her entire logic and if you take magic as meaning "Visualize" SHE BECOMES A FREAKING NIGHTMARE
Übel is a one trick pony on the offense, her ruthlessness may serve her well against human opponents.
But she would get bodied by any of the stronger demons. We ALSO see just how far Frieren outclasses the human mages, including Fern, during the exam.
Übel is among those who chose not to engage Frierens magic clone. She likely would have died.
She also lacks Ferns stealth and detection. Übel is incredibly threatening to any mage inside her own weight class but that doesn´t mean she can contend with the true monsters. Especially Demons, as they can take more damage than humans.
She also rapidly declines in danger if she´s not underestimated. So long as you are aware that she CAN kill you and press her offensively, she is not going to have a great time.
@@sircastic959 yes she is rather limited in offense but that's not what I was talking about when I called her a wild card.
she cut trough an enchanted cloak that was supposed to be uncuttable because "it clothes so I can cut" mentality. Even higher level mages were baffled by her functional dumbassery. and yes she would struggle with more powerful demons mostly because her magic is very VERY short range but if she manages to get close (with a bit of luck or help) she's cutting you!
@@PeoplecallmeLuciferUbel's greatest weakness is her lack of range.
She could beat close quarters mages but not long range spammers.
Naaah, Ubel's strenght is to take over doujin's world ❤
@@rizkaarifiandi5670..... also true
Thing about Flamme is that besides her badass magic her biggest contribution was legalizing magic in the unified Empire. she is the base of all human magic
Himmel is regarded as the hero who defeated the demon king, a feat nobody has ever done before and yet he seems just as strong as anyone else. Heck even current frieren seems to be way stronger than him during their adventures. Unless we are actually shown the fight with demon king we will never know how strong he actually is. And one thing to note, during their journey going back home to the city, none of them seems heavily injured after the fight
Himmel killed the demon king with a fake sword, true hero and i guess he is the human blessed by the goddess
Manga Himmel defeated Solitar and Grausam, two great demons, with his eyes closed.
Remember that magic/skills is evolving, being studied and is always improving. One hint is when Fern called zoltraak an ordinary offensive spell. That being said, i think his power might be outdated by their current standards. I would like to think that Himmel might be top 3 in his prime, in his time. But all time? I think he would still be top 10 no doubt
Maybe I'm reading a bit too much into it, but considering that:
1. The Demon King had Schlatt;
2. The ones who can try to change the future is the people who can see it in the first place and act accordingly; and
3. The Demon King desired coexistence between humans and demons;
it's actually possible that the Demon King himself had already foreseen and planned all the event that has happened, is happening right now, and what will happen in the future of this series. If it's true then it's quite unfortunate that we won't see the possibility of Aura getting railed by Fern and Stark's descendant.
Wont see it till season 2 but very excited to see the golden city arc animated eventually. Macht is easily my favorite antagonist in the manga so far, such a cool character.
Facts. As I was reading that arc, I imagined how it will get animated and how the series would start to take the world by storm, achieving a level of popularity comparable to that of AOT. That arc had everything.
Same 😭😭 I hope that if demons could be reborn, Macht could be reborn as a human so he'd finally understand what he's looking for.
Flamme explained why Serie didn't beat the Demon King, cause she's a warmonger, she's not gonna be the one who bring peace upon this lands, cause she like to fight and conflict.
She recognize Macht threat and still play with him during El Dorado arc.
She didn't chase or hunt any great demon, she seems to act when a Demon become a real world threatening nuisance.
I think we can speculate about her real power, but as far as the manga get forward i think she's still the most powerful being known.
I think theres something you miss about the battle of frieren vs solitar, some of the reasons why frieren seems a bit struggling when fighting solitar is because frieren was multi tasking : she's fighting and dispelling the gold curse for an entire region of eldorado at the same time, and she did it without solitar noticing at first..
also i forgot to mention, frieren managed to break free from the gold curse that engulfed her hand 600 years ago when she first met macht, without her knowing fully about the curse at that time
Frieren concluded (Ch 99) "Solitar and I do not bear a significant difference in mana." In this series, mana is the major way to gauge a mage's strength, so according to Frieren's very own analysis, they are within the same power levels. I believed that alone was enough to explain it, and I didn't want to narrate every single thing that happened in the story. Plus, Frieren even highlighted that Solita's control over mana is otherwordly.
One thing to note as well is that it was Fern who ultimately killed Solitar, so Frieren didn't solo her. We can assume that she can do it on her own without any help, but we can't confirm that either.
I did gave Frieren the slight edge in that battle, that's why she has a higher ranking.
@@OniiChanExplains frieren needed to release the curse in order to win. her tactics can easily be shielded by solitar cuz already adapted since she has already seen it with Fern.. Solitar is too strong and smart they ganged up on her
No way that frieren can match head on with Macht 1v1. She is used to party battles.. the ranking is just right imo
@@noomee4084nah frieren can solo macht pretty easily the time when Frieren solved macht ultimate weapon the gold thing
The biggest reason why macht was even consider to be an unstoppable force was because there was so little counter to his broken special ability without it I believe he might be the weakest from the high ranking demons
@@KeankeansEven if his gold magic is countered, he's still have his physical prowess and human magic ability. And i bet Frieren magic to counter macht use a lot of mana just like the one that denken uses so not everyone can use it freely.
I think the list is pretty reasonable. It is hard to assess some things ultimately. E.g. I feel like a mage like Aura is easily discounted just because her win con is so hit or miss. It's merely a question of if she has more mana or less and can cast her magic. Technically speaking, if she were able to strategize well enough and wait for powerful entities to be low on mana, she could enslave those way above her. Even in canon if Aura had managed to get her spell off once on say Himmel, the Hero Party would have failed in their mission. Going by flashback scenes, it seems like she was rushed down before she could cast it even once though.
This also raises the question that if the Sages of Destruction actually worked together the Hero Party likely wouldn't have won. In general I think one of the biggest pitfalls to Demons are their lack of coordination and inability to not be overly self focused and prideful. E.g. Imagine if the Barrier Sage of Destruction partnered up with Aura and she systematically took control of all the low mana heroes of humanity? The Omniscient could look into the future to figure out all the abilities of humanity's greatest allies and share them with all the Sages which would completely reverse how many fights went since many wins happened due to deception tactics. E.g. Aura vs. Frieren, again, all Aura had to do to win was fight her normally with her giant army which Frieren even admitted that she would have had trouble if she did. The utter lack of cooperation and sometimes even common sense and self discipline are really what hold demonkind back. Alas, the Demon King seemed aware of the folly of his kind as did the Omniscient. I wonder if the Omniscient set some sort of end game in motion. I guess we'll know in 1000 years.
I concur.. Aura is basically a support type backlane mage.. She should have hidden while controlling her army. And the sage of corruption is very powerful to the point they needed to research his magic while sealed.
Thanks! I agree, if the sages worked together, they would be unstoppable. It's mind-blowing to think about how the Hero of the South managed to take out three sages and Schlacht (not definitively) while fighting all of them at the same time.
That's why I wouldn't even object if someone said he could be in the top spot. It's crazy how he pulled that off. He must have insane battle prowess to go along with his future-seeing magic.
I loved Macht in the manga. He was frightening to be sure.
Serie current apprentice deserve a spot in this list he actually managed to wound Frieren.
This is the greatest rangking video ive watched in my entire life. You clearly taken a more case to case and evidence by evindence route compared to even well known large youtuber, making a clear distinction on what information you know and speculation that are logical while also being flexibel with it
It's like im watching a university level anime power ranking presentation lol.
Appreciated 🙌💯
This was a somewhat solid ranking video. Highly substantial and well thought. If I were to rank characters based off the info inferred from the manga this is somewhat what the list would look like. Almost exactly. I bet even Freiren herself would agree. Lmao. Considering her personality.
Thanks!. glad you think so
I'm pretty sure the only reason serie didn't want to fight the demon king was because she didn't want peace. She probably thought that if she did beat him she wont find an opponent out there anymore
She's basically like captain america who has fear of world peace when world war is finished
Was Himmel ever even shown to lose/struggle. He genuinely feels kinda mythical. Wasn't chosen as a hero but just didn't care. Excluding Serie who didn't even care everyone else did try to go for the demon king right. But it was Himmel's party that actually did it. Plus his name is literally Sky/Heaven.
Yes, he and the party struggled a number of times throughout the story.
Serie cannot defeat demon king because she is a warmonger. Flamme said that
@@xalovaid3693Was it that she "cannot" because she is a warmonger and the Demon King would win as mentioned in the video, or is it that she would win but that victory would not change anything because as a hero, she would not do anything to affect change in the world that would bring an era of peace?
Himmel traveled, visited other areas and continued to be a symbol of hope for the people even after his victory. His status and influence was such, that the different countries and the demons didn't have a full on conflict that we know of until after his death when Aura started her war efforts again.
Would Serie do that if she had won? would she use her immense power, fame and time to play peacekeeper for even a single century after her victory over the Demon King? The answer is no. Serie values ambition and self improvement. And that ambition would inevitably lead to conflict between all sentient beings, be they Humans, Elves, Dwarves or even Demons. If she took the time to kill him, then she would simply go away for a journey and let the powers that be to clean up the mess. And at that time, the different kingdoms would scramble to win territory and to fill up the power vacuum that the Demon King's death left. In sort, more war and destruction.
That is what I believe Flamme meant when she said that Serie couldn't defeat the Demon King. Not a physical defeat, that she could do, but a final end to the war for at least some time.
That was something that Himmel and his party managed to do.
@@kpetalis You read to it too much.
@@xalovaid3693What he said actually make sense. Flamme said that Serie wouldn’t able to defeat the Demon king because she’s a Warmonger instead of saying that she didn’t have to the strength to do so.
Solitaire was likely as strong or stronger than Macht. She was a nameless great demon precisely because no one who faced her over the millennia ever lived to tell the tale. When speaking with Macht she acknowledged that she is extremely cautious and that she changed her mind about killing him because she wasn't one hundred percent certain she would win. It wasn't because she thought he was necessarily more powerful than her but rather because she does not take unnecessary risks and she deemed that the risk he posed to her by potentially provoking humanity into another demon war was smaller than the risk she would face in a direct attempt to kill him. She had originally incorrectly judged Macht to be so much weaker than herself that she could kill him without risk to her own life.
Macht can easily turn Solitar into gold, you know. She doesn't have any counter to that.
@@noomee4084I think she does. She would never have even considered fighting him otherwise.
@@verified_tinker1818 True. But I guess there's no way of knowing. At least one thing is for sure, she is not stronger than Macht. If she was, then she could've proceeded with her plan otherwise.
we know how strong she is, she is on par with match, either stronger or weaker.
but i think the reason she is nameless is not because how strong she is
but how she approach human.
solitaire more "pacifist" than other demon, she not randomly attacking human, thus she not generate a lot of attention
ps' I dont know if the word pacifist is the correct term, but you got the point
Na they said it in the manga that , that wasn't the reason she was nameless because she avoided humans and wasn't really killing them although she lied that she has never killed humans.
Serie be like:
I didn't want peace
I want problem always😂
As far as the manga says Himmel should at least be up there, Himmel is a "fake" hero and he can keep with the team with ease and even lead them to a victory against the demon king
nahhh, in 1v1 battles he wouldn't be able to beat any of the sages. Aura of guillotine will beat him easily with her mana scales without the help of his party. I'm even surprised he is in the top 10. this is not group party battles ranking
@@noomee4084 Actually I think Aura would be the one sage of destruction Himmel would likely defeat in 1 vs 1. The reason Aura disappeared and only reappeared after Himmel's death is that she feared him. Remember there are two ways to defeat the scales. The first is through sheer volume of mana as Frieren demonstrated, but the second way was to have a truly indomitable will. This was always Himmel's greatest strength. Despite being no slouch when comes to raw strength as a warrior what made him the great hero was his indomitable spirit and his ability to touch and sway the hearts of others.
@@kirbyjoe7484 You can't credit that victory solely to Himmel, as he fought Aura alongside three other allies. While I agree with your point about his strong will, I don't believe he could still win against Aura, there's a keyword you are missing ( a person with strong will can resist "momentarily").
In the latest chapters, we were shown that a subordinate of sage Grausam could easily dodge Himmel's attack, treating him as if he were a child smiling all the while. Also, remember how Frieren mentioned that if Aura hadn't resorted to using the scales and had instead focused on deploying her soldiers, Frieren would have been in much trouble. The headless army could just swarm Himmel while Aura hides or flies in the sky until the scales of obedience do its thing. He needs a team and there's no shame in that.
@@noomee4084 Fair point. I was assuming neither had any allies, but yeah Aura would almost certainly have a load of undead puppets and Himmel would not fare well against that sort of thing by himself. Then again, what makes Himmel strong is he also will almost never be fighting alone. Really his best trait by far was his ability to inspire others. Anyway, I do agree that Himmel is not very high up on the power tier ladder when he is by himself.
It said that the hero's sword will be drawn by the one who will defeat the world's greatest calamity, so it Himmel couldn't pull out the sword but still defeated the demon king anyway, that probably means that the demon king isn't the greatest calamity mentioned in the prophesy
Somehow, I 100% agree with placement. Also I agree it is hard to determined character strength because lot of battle ended because of tactics, deceive, and cunning.

4. Schlacht
Schlatt vs Hero of the South feels like that Bungo stray dogs episode.
Lernen (serie's first apprentice to achieve the title of first-class mage) should be higher than denken. Serie implied in a talk to him at the end of the mage exam arc that if he really tried, he could possibly have a chance of defeating frieren. although we don't know if he would be able to beat her or not, being described by Serie as someone with the potential to take out frieren should place him high enough to be above denken, who we saw got destroyed in his battle against frieren even though she was only using basic skills (denken said, after being defeated, "this looks like a fight betweem a master and an apprentice"). That's how big the diferrance between him and frieren is.
If only Hero of the South have trusted and powerful party like Himmel, he could have beaten the Demon King. However, we can say also that Himmel party is able to progress forward because the Hero of the South already killed off the more powerful mages of destruction.
Mages/demons use magic detection to perceive and analyse any attacks thrown at them. Frieren has a telekinetic like attack spell which can't be perceived with magic detection making it invisible and hard to block. Fern which has very good mana perception(perceived Serie's mana instability/concealment) did not even perceive the attack. The big disadvantage of this spell is that it is full of openings. The hero party might have capitalized on this spell by protecting Frieren while she focuses 100% on this pure offensive spell on their fight with the demon lord.
Not to mention that she never used her peak of magic until the demon king .
Himmel as far as we know is the one who killed the demon king.
Maybe the biggest twist is the Demon King's ultimate goal is to coexist with humans, to not have demonkind be extremely feared and hunted and vice versa. Would explain your theory on him have the magical ability to beat anyone who isn't peaceful at heart? Maybe with Schlatt's future seering, he set into motion a route for just that?
That’s not a twist, it’s been stated in the manga that both Macht and the Demon King wished to coexist with humans but they simply couldn’t because they don’t perceive and understand human emotions. Them trying to understand it lead to the war between humans and demons.
When Serie denies frieren to be her apprentice, I always imagine that scene from 'there will be blood' where the main character is yelling "bastard from a basket" to his son while the son walks out.
Flamme's feat is just simply outrageous. It was described that her spells would even beat the advanced magic of the present. Serie said that it will take a century or two for the humans to completely master the concealment of mana making it a useless thing to do, but Flamme did it in 20+ years and the one who was able to find weakness and deceive the demons, serving the demons their own medicine was one of the most satisfying things about this show. I don't think Flamme is any lower than Frieren or Serie. Potential will always be greater than talent, cuz if Flamme has long life span as well it's not exaggerated to say that she can surpass Serei, the only thing that defeated Flamme was the passage of time.
You forgot Kraft, that could be the very first hero to defeat a past demon king, and who should be about top 3 up. He could also be the real owner of the Hero Sword that was bestowed by the Goddesses, there were hints of it from the Statues.

Funny that people keep putting Kraft on this list despite being featless and with no known history about him except being older than Frieren. We literally don't know if he's a mage or a warrior but just because it was confirmed that he's older than Frieren and has lived in the Mythical Era people already assume that he is up there with the Demon King and Serie. Serie is also from the Mythical Era and is known as the "Living Grimmoire" and a Great Mage but mindless simps would still rank Kraft above her lol.

Yes, I know Frieren lost to Macht but that was 600 years ago. Current Frieren has now countered Diagloze and can definitely match Macht in raw power. Solitar on the other hand, almost defeated current Frieren and out of all the characters Frieren has fought so far, it was Solitar that totally injured her and pushed her to the end of the rope. But it could be argued that Frieren was analyzing the city of Weiss during her battle and she also managed to learn Solitar's strongest spell mid-fight and executed it perfectly despite using it for the first time. Also, I consider Macht and Solitar equal because first, Solitar was the one who taught Macht human magic in which Macht later taught Denken and Solitar was able to break the barrier that sealed Macht for 50 years in just only 2 months of analyzing it, something Macht failed to do in the span of 50 years. And it was mentioned by Frieren twice that Solitar was as powerful as Macht, the only thing that makes Macht deadlier is Diagloze, but knowledge, wisdom, skill and raw power definitely goes to Solitar. Thus, I come to conclude that these three are evenly matched in skill, mana and power overall.
dont we know kraft is a warrior from the statue or something. also hes now a monk so currently hes neither a mage or a warrior
In my opinion, Himmel shouldn't be ranked. He doesn't have any solid shown feats to put him in the Top 10. You could say the same thing about the Hero of the South but his accomplishments were done individually, whereas most of Himmel's notable achievements were with the Hero Party.
He literally almost solo grausam.
I hope they will create a movie or ova with Himmel party on how they defeat the demon king
If they released it as a movie in the future I believe it will break records 😁
A spinoff manga about Himmel would be great as well
I think the reason we don't see how the hero party defeated the demon king may be due to its involvement in future story development
The problem with ranking demons in power ranking is that they only specialize in 1 magic, and 1 magic only, which makes highly susceptible to specific counters. And I can't really rank them that higher except for fews with extremely strong gimmick like Macht's Golden Magic, and Potential the Saint on Ruin since we don't even know what the hell she supposed to do when putting her curse at the stars.
Reading too much type-moon stuff (fate, tsukihime, etc) made me wonder if it's mistranslation because that series always swap the translation for star to planet and planet to star. As example the fan translation is the moment the star is born meanwhile the official translation is the moment the planet is born
@@18_moch.januarakbar17 it still doesn't matter if it's a star or a planet. The implications are equally scary.
Thats kind of calamity Hero's sword waiting for. True world ending event. It will complete in 30 years and maybe Frieren will team up with future hero to save the world again
@@fifthtouch it's not that far into the future actually. 100 Years from the saint said the prophecy, which set 7 years into Himmel and pals journey, add 53 when Himmel passed, and 29 years after himmel's passing for current timeline which added into 99 years. That means the calamity will happen right around the corner.
we did see the likes of macht and Qual using other magic tho,Granted, they were both the best mage on sage of destruction
Everyone needs to remember The Hero Himmel with an ordinary sword plus teamwork took out the demon king. No sacred sword. No holy sword. No mythical sword. Probably just an ordinary sword made with refined metals and ores. The party consist of Heiter(compared himself to having 5x mana output than super suppressed Frieren in early anime which is not that much). Eisen the warrior(who didn’t even make the list and believed he is weaker than Stark the warrior. Frieren the Slayer at 6th. And Himmel the supposed 9th. Give this man a holy/sacred/mythical/blessed sword and he would shoot far up.
Not really, Heiter's mana capacity is not a big deal as his main power is Goddes's magic. He was extremely good at it to the level of countering the signature magic of one of the Sages of Destruction. A feat that sage thought impossible.
Eisen is the strongest Warrior of mankind during the journey. That is his title, Mankind's Strongest Warrior. He showed his strength when going toe to toe with Rivale, the greatest of Demon Warrior.
Stark would still need a few years to get to his level of those days
Himmel was a warrior but his main strength is speed. He was showed having no trouble of stalling Sages in battles so while he wasn't as powerful in their field as his teamates, he was still a powerhouse
Well deffinitly himmel at minimum 3rd!
He claimed his sword just a cheap copy what brought when he was young! Nothing refined steel just probably an iron cast or at best a cheap steel sword! Still managed to slash any dragon and demon!
out of all the demons, i found solitar to be the most terrifying,
spoilers for the manga
in her fight against fern and stark, it became very clear, very quick, that this was someone who was 300% capable of one-shotting both of them, simultaneously. something about the way she acted and spoke in the fight awakened an almost primal sense of unease and fear in me, like i was looking at the uncanny valley of human behavior and speech. i don't know how else to put it other than what frieren said about "great demons" like her: fucking run.
Here is a frame of reference for how absurdly powerful Frieren is.
At the Start of her life, She had an Aura of magic emission roughly 8-10 feet in diameter at full power.
Her master had one around 20 feet in diameter. That made Flamme about 4 times as powerful (Pi(100) vs Pi(400))ft^2. areas
Aura, the 550 yrs old sage of destruction ... an arch-demon --- had magical power emission roughly 15-20 ft in diameter, and was unmatched by any foe in over 100 yrs. (I am using visual evidence of her estimated height VS the width of her power emission shown)
When she unleashed her full power, Frieren was somewhere between 35 and 40 feet wide diameter of power.
This puts Frieren's full power at 3 to 4 times that of the strongest sage of destruction "Aura" ...
Mana alone can't tell you how powerful a mage is. Frieren herself has been defeated 11 times by mages with less mana than her.
@@1idd0kun not all of them were Mana based losses. It's stated that Macht of El Dorodo was not only a matchup issue, but stronger than Frieren as she was 500 yrs ago. Several foes she has faced were actually stronger than she was at the time.
There is also the point of Frieren not specializing in , or being interested in battle to begin with. She's about flower power, seeking, finding, and miscellaneous magics like the Snow cone and flavoring she did for Heiter.
In fact, the great mage Seri (#2 on this list) fails her in the 1st class mage exam for not being battle oriented enough.
Seri also tells her apprentices that Frieren's suppression technique , and focus on miscellaneous magics keep her from being as strong as Seri herself. Seri knows that Frieren's talent and life of experience should be sufficient to make her comparable in power to Seri if Frieren actually shared a passion for getting stronger, or battle magics. If Frieren was a battlemage, she would spend her time flexing and growing much stronger in her base mana, instead of suppressing it and going after "hot tea" making magics.
@@craigwheeler4760
None of that changes the fact she was defeated 11 times by mages with less mana than she has. And 6 of those were humans to boot.
@@1idd0kun Hot take, I am pretty that happened more than hundred years ago, and Frieren now is different from Frieren that was defeated by lower mana mages. Remember, Frieren before defetaing the Demon King had significantly weaker spell or smaller experience than Present Frieren.
@@juanthegreat3954
That's just you wanking Frieren, even though the point she's trying to make is that you should not wank her because magic combat in her world depends on a lot of variables.
Greatly thought out video. Looking forward for more.. can't believe I almost missed watching this since I watched the demon explainer video 👌
I freaking love macht of el dorado, its my first time to admire a villain character.
All the 7 sages are strong but still non of them can do anything about Flamme barrier she's genius
Im pretty sure the strongest one would be the goddess. Since only the goddess magic can send someone to the past and not even demons can do that.
You should watch the video.
Deep down in her heart, Serie might actually want the war with demon to continue since Serie only see magic as a fighting/killing thing so if the war finally end her identity will be forgotten and she don't want that. That's the reason why she will never be able to defeat the demon king cause she's don't want to be forgotten. That's just my theory.
They literally said it in the manga, Serie is a warmonger and can't visualize an era of peace, making her unable to defeat the demon king
@@quitw18 Yeah, and the meaning of unable to defeated is still an uncertain thing. May be he condition to kill the dm is you have to be able to visualize the peace, or it just that Serie and Flamme can't kill him even if they have a chance since they might see that the war is important somehow. The information is still not enough anyway, we still don't know what's the deal with peace and the demon king so we just have to wait😑.
It makes sense for Kraft to be insanely strong. He's an adult meanwhile Frieren has lived for 1000+ years and has the body of an 18 year old.
hero of the south is actually cold as fuck 💀
Two of her barriers (that we know of) still existed and were functioning (the tree that had the only true notes of Flamme in it)
Solitar and Macht were absolutely powerhouses demon-wise... but knowing that Serie just played with Macht in the manner that she did, she definitely has potential to become a future demon king if she finally knows how to counter most of the magic of men... She's the absolute perfect rival for Frieren...
What?
Frieren is way below Serie.
@@huntermad5668i think frieren has the same potential or even greater potential than Serie. It's just that Serrie is such an old fogey
@@huntermad5668well not really… frieren has unique strategy and real battle experiences with demons!

Not true, the top tier of the Association and Empire can give her a challenge.
She is powerful but not Serie powerful.
@ any evidence or statement? Don’t forget serie not meet frieren over 1000 years… frieren also was not able to defeat the sealed demon in early hero campaign but after that he just toyed with him!
The hero party got lot of power during their journey.
16:30 Demon King : shows picture of Luca Blight lmao, that's so fitting
frieren's first season will have 28 episodeeees? omg thank u!
i think the defeat of Demon King by Himmels party is intended by the Demon King himself since one of his Sages can see the future considering that even Serie , whom lived several millenias before Frieren cannot (or maybe just didnt care about it ) defeat Demon King.
Demon King died ( or pretend to be dead ) so that Frieren can go back to the past while carrying 80 years ahead of informations thus creating a new timeline.
I wouldn’t say new timeline but new found knowledge that he will use after frieren comes back to where the demon king was defeated, maybe for some sort of resurrection or other reason. The future is set, Himmel and the Party already found the spell and carved it for future Frieren to see, so she could go back to the future after they defeated the demon king. But yeah being defeated is starting to sound like it was his plan all along.
Most likely true coexistence with demons, which was supposedly his main goal.
@@Doodoovessel yeah i guess the whole himmel's party journey is just a single cogwheel in the grand plan of the demon king , cant wait for the story to unveil further 😁
For future plot, we know from latest chapter that a great demon is preparing a grand spell that will activated 100 years later.
@@willysu1352 Plottwist: Stark's _small thing_ is Demon King in disguise 🤣
What I love about frierens character though is she could take on opponents stronger then her due to her skill with tactics and the like and isn’t ashamed of that. She doesn’t have the ego or pride of other mages. To her she’s just an elf who can use magic not this honor bound mage that’s restricted by codes and stuff.
Himmel now has been confirmed by Solitar that he can killed her and Grausam if he wants too, but she threatened him to let them go or she will change the future.
Nope, don't forget how crucial Heiter was in that battle, protecting Himmel and Frieren while their down, as well as binding Grausam's spell, allowing Himmel to land his attack.
@@OniiChanExplains Heiter got one shot by Grausam, while Himmel push Grausam off even though he's still under the illusion, even made him show fear for the first time ever according to Solitar.
Like if you want to say Himmel is not than Great Demon just because he was not shown to kill one himself then might as well give Frieren that treatment. Sure she did kill Aura, but Aura was the weakest of the Great Demon is literally a bad matchup for Frieren, not to mention that Frieren said it herself that she couldn't kill Solitar alone, only finishes her off because Solitar was already greatly injured by Fern attack.
Heiter didn't get one shotted by Grausam, he defended Himmel and Frieren from multiple attacks. And Aura is not the only great demon general Frieren defeated on her own like Basalt Throne (when she was younger). She also beat Zart on her own too, without her the rest of the hero party would've been wiped out in that encounter with a giant rock.
@@OniiChanExplains that is very true, but we can't ignore that despite being trapped in the illusion, Himmel was easily fighting Grausam while also defending Frieren
@@OniiChanExplainsHimmel was literally fighting them with pure instinct, he was under the illusion, his eyes was closed. There is no more excuse to undermine him.
Hero of the South is one of the strongest characters. It's 8 vs 1, because 7 Sages + Schlacht vs. Hero the South. And the hero still managed to kill 3 Sages + Schlacht.
He had hero power while himmel does not… still himmel could defeat the demon king… also don’t forget when himmel started his journey he was 15…
Macht was lucky Denken chose not to cast the forbidden spell "fist" during their fight.
Solitar is stronger then Macht. At ch.103 she said: I initially come to kill you. She is a great magic decoder like Frieren. And she is not affected by the golden curse at ch.97.
Basically all Great Demons are superior then the 7 Sages. Also QUAL. Solitar used to respect and call him "The Greatest". He is the genius of magic invention. Just suffer by being sealed cause outdate.
She literally said she doesn't want to fight him because it's too risky. She wasn't affected because Macht didn't target her, lol
@@nirolf12 Yeah but she also literally said come to kill him. Here is just match her personality of don't like to take risk.
The golden curse is it so specific on a target? It's an unknown. If this curse is so under controll. Serie reflect the curse should not affact Macht. Because Macht himself is not his target right?
"I have developed a secret mana tech that can protect me from Di Agolze. However, if he also has immense physical magic that can penetrate my mana barrier, then that might cause me a little trouble"
"but would you lose?"
Solitar replied:
"Nah, I'd win"
Then she bailed lmao
joke aside, I totally agree that she should have been in the 5th spot right above Macht. I would even reach for a speculation that Macht transmuted the whole town at the time to preserve the town and its people from the approaching Solitar.
Himmel is likely stronger than any sage of destruction. However it was stated by Frieren that matchup are VERY important. So overall strenght is revelant but at the end of the day if someone counter you even if they are overall weaker they will end you.
How the hero's group was able to kill the demon king without killing all the 7 sages of destruction? where were they during the battle?
3 of them were killed by hero of the south, 2 killed by himmel group, 1 didnt care about the demon king and Aura who hid after being defeated by himmel group.
@@Senel12s ow, thanks for the explanation
Himmel's lore alone puts him in or around the top 5 he had sages and the entire demon world in hiding simply by existing and defeated the demon king with a fake sword just because we havent seen thay many feats doesnt mean he can be ranked that low.
Its funny how this chapter came out just before 118 which confirms himmels power scaling far more consistently. He should be higher than 9. He was pushing back grausum whilst handicaped with limited senses eyes closed he was overwhelming him. and the girl greater demon was very sure he could take down all 3 of them if he wanted (but with huge collatoral damage which made him hesitate because he didnt want to threaten firerens future timeline so he let them go). She specifically credited them being able to because of himmel himself.
using the main villain from my favorite game to represent the demon king from my favorite manga...i think i might fall in love !!!
I wonder if it's also possibly a mantle. Whomever defeats the demon king becomes the demon king unless they are completely incompatible with the ideals of power and war.
ya I like this theory.
Notice that powerful and lethal are different on this series although the only distinction applies to Fern.
Fern is more lethal than Frieren and any human mage, she easily toyed with first class mages. She is the second most lethal character on the series but she is not nearly as powerful as Frieren, most of the first class mages and demons.
Yet Fern is only 16 years old, at that age most humans are just starting to learn magic due to how low their mana would be. Fern has more mana than expected for her age but still so little compared to the monsters she hangs around with.
I think in this time magic education is still only reserved for people with a lot of money, and else there's some minor cheap folk magic going around that people with a bit of affinity for magic can use.
once peace is fully established, powerful mages will be ranked muuuch differently. Mages who are geniuses that can revolutionize production and efficiency would become the new super successes, and the legends would be those who can spread new fundamental knowledge. People who can come up with equivalents of electricity, gravity, force, etc.
Whereas society would be largely concentrating on producing services and items that raise quality of life - and most importantly making it cheap.
Making magic fridges that - over time - everyone can afford, magic communication, travel, automation, comfort, entertainment, niche products like a fan for a hot day, a perfect piano tuner, sorting and shipping efficiency technology etc. Those things don't exist in a world of war.
Methode bodies Fern lmao.
Just a few minor corrections
1. Eisen was stronger than Himmell. After the Hero of the South Eisen was mankind’s strongest warrior
2. Lernen is one of the most powerful mages in the world . Serie herself said that he has the chance to defeat Frieren so he can’t be left out of the ranking
3 . Serie is not a team player . She could have probably defeated the Demon King one on one but he had an entire army and mages can be vuernable to warriors especially at close distance
Being warrior and swordsman is a different thing! Also eisen showed great endurance and much more than anything!
It’s more like eisen is a tank while himmel dps.
@@gipsymelody1268 While I agree, I do think In direct combat Himmel would have been weaker than Eisen.
@ i would disagree about it because at the end himmel deffinitly the strongest character not to mention eisen has racial powers like the uncommon durability and resistance as a dwarf + he is also not young not even in his race! At best he is middle age then after 80-100 years of the adventure he entered in his old ages.
So my point himmel claimed to be hero so even if less durable but with his power and speed should outcome in real battle.
+ we still don’t know if he used magic like combined basic magic with his sword cause he used a litereally cheap steel super blunt sword all of the time!
@@proxnoob6177 oh also my original comment was meant how in Japan fantasy culture the warrior/fighter is a different “class” than a a swordsman!
A warrior/fighter use anything which is not sword mostly axe/hammer and a shield with heavy armor while a swordsman use only swords nothing more.
Example: mushoku tensei where the party usually made from a magician/mahotsukai, a magician healer, a fighter/senshi, and a swordsman/kenshi
Even claimed how Paul was the swordsman and others the fighters.
Frieren spent 100 yrs to cure her arm that turns into gold in her battle with Macht 600yrs ago.
I think Flamme might have been more a talented genius then some of the others above her on the list and was just held back by her life span. But at the same time her human lifespan also drove her to do what she did to become basically a progenitor of human magic who studied and released countless magical theorems that would become many magical spells in the future. Really love how the series really depicts how one's perception of time affects them. Serie is powerful yes, but how much of that is due to just being someone powerful for her time who survived the longest? Serie doesn't exactly come across as a dutiful student of magic. If she had a more sense of urgency how would that have changed her? How would Flamme be if she had an elven or demon lifespan?
Serie might even be thinking strategically at the cost of humanity. As in, she might be letting demons rampage for the sake of collecting the spells they develop. Harvesting them when it's ready.
I'm a bit surprised that series copy didn't employ some nuke level magic during the exams, she has many counterspells and probably some continental level magic. If she can't manipulate reality in some major way, then she's nowhere near the level of the goddess, like she's an ant compared to the goddess, who can change reality in major ways.
I fugured the demon king probably has a magic that works very well in single combat but not so well against groups. Probably like some sort of vopy or overpower magic that lets him be much stronger than his opponent. No one else besides Himmel actually had a strong party to oppose him and demons dont usually work well in groups
I think Himel is the strongest of them all, we will se it in the future (just my opinion)
nah
Great job man keep up the great uploads
This aged TERRIBLY, Himmel is easily top 4/3 now
Bruh himmel almost killed a sage of destruction WHILE being under heavy illusion
I'm waiting for the flashback of their fight with the Demon king and how did they actually defeated him.
Defeating 3 of the 7 and forcing the others to retreat, is a fucking badass feat by the hero of the south.
I would probably put Kraft above Denken as he is considered one of the old heroes that actually survived until Frieren's era. The fact that he is alive with all his accomplishments shows he is stronger since he achieved more things than Denken in his long lifespan.
The list is great, but I think 1: solitar should be at least at spot 10. She was so strong that nobody survived her before frieren stepped in, she EASILY defeated both stark and fern and was as strong as a sage of destruction. 2 Denken is not as strong to be in the top 10, he seemed to be stronger because he knew match style and practiced for 50 years just to defeat him, but he would be dead if he had fighted solitar or any other great demon alone. 3 In my opinion, purely by strengh as a warrior, Eisen is superior to himmel and should be in his spot. I don't think Schlacht is stronger than match, as the latter wasn't afraid to fight him and only agreed to participate when Grausam appeared. Schlacht seems to be more like a strategist and a mastermind rather than a warrior. I think he would be among the weakest sages of destruction just in terms of raw power.
Denken's signature move: Fistfight
that was awesome! gj
Frontliner and warriors feels outscaled by magic users and hard to determine if they can fare with a mage since I don’t recall that happening in the anime. Probably because 1.) it’s an anime based more around magic 2.) it’s flashier 3.) more variety.
But when you do see their feats, they are pretty grand. Like cleaving a mountain or killing a dragon in one hit or cutting a demons hand off and at the same time rescue the child held hostage all in an instant.
The demon king almost certainly counters Serie considering she could wipe away his armies probably in an instant. Schlat could potentially avoid Serie but he couldn’t defeat her. Only demon king has a chance
Let's be honest, she is bodding him
How the party even defeated the demon king. himmel must have some king of special magic that is not reviled.
Unknown, but they didn't have to fight against full power of the sages as Hero of the South cut them down by half with the death of 3 and the right hand man of Demon King
The real hero sword itself havent been pulled. So yes, there mus be something that will happen in the future. Just let the author cook.

yea u got a point, as far as we know serie's the strongest. but we don't know yet how powerfull is the demon king, maybe he just got power to control demon, which means he's not strong at all, but he could be stronger than the other demons too
and i've seen so many argueable comments that said Frieren > serie, since frieren defeated macth
as we seen on manga, frieren run away from macth on their first encounter and macth already transformed frierens hand into gold, and frieren need many years to cure it, but serie's first encounter with macht is one sided fight.
we all could assume that serie'shigher than frieren since the power system that has been told is age refering yout mana, which means serie's unknown age and fact that she's already adult when frieren still young means serie's age around 2000-/+. and yound demons like macth has no chance if they're competing on magic power or normal fight.
and the only chance that match has is his diagoldze(which made frieren defeat), but series could easily negate it. which means from that point, macht has 0 chance of defeating serie , and that happens on first encounter,
people don't get this because they thought serie leave macth there cause she got no way to defeat him, but the truth is macth needed to be alive, till humans find out how to cure diagoldze(cause el doorado already turned into gold, if they killed macth they coudn't turn back eldorado to normal) Because oof that serie's disciple force serie's to fall back and wait till they found the way to cure eldoorado
A thing about serie, is she has every counter to magic without preparation, she has so much in his arsenal, not mentioning magic from mythical era which is probably way superior than magic now, even frieren mention that she has not yet reach serie's exptectation
Either I'm misremembering where this came from, but I thought the Demon King was actually weaker than each of the Sages of Destruction, but that he had a unique magic of domination that allowed him to control them.
Frieren has mentioned multiple times in the manga that she is still no match for Flamme. We can't say for sure, but it's hard to believe Flamme's power level is inferior to Frieren's. I definitely wouldn't rank her lower than her apprentice.
I don't believe Frieren ever said that she is "still" no match for Flamme in the current timeline and during the time of the Hero Party.
However, if you can let me know in which chapters she mentioned it, that would be helpful.
bro frieren never said that lol. how can you make things up and just assume they are true. the only thing frieren said was that she was still "dancing at the palm of her master's hands" at the end of episode 4, and she was talking about the fact that flamme knew she would one day have regrets, it had nothing to do with power levels
