He great reaction. Here's a little bit of back story. The two Albums Apex and Abyss are together Concept Albums telling the story of The Immoral and The Matriarch. This song (Abyss) is the first song on the second album so you Are picking the story up right in the middle of the story. I would suggest starting at the song Awakening and go track by track through both albums. You would not regret this journey if you so choose. P.S. A few of the band members stream regularly on Twitch and also have a DnD style playthrough of the Apex Album going here on UA-cam.
I love it when an album is one big story!!!! Thank you so much for all the information, and I'm so happy you liked the reaction 🤘 We are DnD players, so I love that they are into that.
My Favorite video of theirs is "Awakening" ua-cam.com/video/gqUPGa15Oto/v-deo.html but "Tonight We Ride" better demonstrates Brittney's vocal capabilities. ua-cam.com/video/UOvZKJlrtk8/v-deo.html There are 3 videos I can think of that were "in the woods" "Soulbound" features green laser lights and people with black eyes "Cleanse the Bloodlines" features a tame hawk and thick lines on the band members faces "General of the Dark Army" has the band playing in the woods as actors portray a swordfight ALSO: Is it too soon to go back to Lovebites? Bearded Ryan was lamenting the underplaying of the bassist, so perhaps you'd like to see her shine a bit? If so, try "Awakening/Hammer of Wrath" ("awakening" is an intro, "Hammer" the main song) ua-cam.com/video/otJZPUCwyOM/v-deo.html
Just saying, this is the song that the Orb of Metal opened a black hole -- so the band could defeat an interplanetary being. It is epic, and I love it! PS: Brittany Slayes, the singer here, was actually a guest vocalist on a compilation album called Star-One, created by Arjen Lucassen. Brittney sang on a song called Fate of Man, a song originally intended for Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden. Fate of Man, by the way, is the only song I've ever heard that musically tells the story of the Terminator. It's that good -- and you really get to hear Brittney's range on it.
I think we are going to listen to their albums in order, we just learned there is an overarching story! Very excited to get to the ones you've listed here!🤘
IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! ABYSS Open my eyes in a daze How long has it been? Am I so out of place? Warmth I can no longer feel My mountain is gone, I'm surrounded by steel The strangest of structures arises ahead Seems to be held up by nothing Where have I gone, do I dream? How can the stars be all I can see? Dark embrace Has someone awakened me? Please show your face Cold and quiet space Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Feverishly I explore Searching for someone, there has to be more I can't be the only one here My path always guides me, there's nothing to fear Then why do I feel so immensely alone This can't be the end of my story Onward I go once again Fighting my way to my final breath Into the abyss Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Summon the strength of millenniums past Forged by the fire and flame I am the weapon of empires vast Immortal is more than a name Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Cry into the chasm ahead Into the sky never ending, although Time will tell if I'm worthy of it A future of final transcending, alone

Nice!!! I will add these to the list. I would really like to hear Tonight We Ride just for her vocals!!
I dig Dave Mustain's new band! It's like if Megadeth and Evanescence made a clone in a secret government soundstage!-)
"OhHiMark"
I did NAAAHHHT

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
ABYSS
Open my eyes in a daze
How long has it been? Am I so out of place?
Warmth I can no longer feel
My mountain is gone, I'm surrounded by steel
The strangest of structures arises ahead
Seems to be held up by nothing
Where have I gone, do I dream?
How can the stars be all I can see?
Dark embrace
Has someone awakened me? Please show your face
Cold and quiet space
Out so far beyond stars and the sun
Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown
Now, to the edge of imagination
Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope
Feverishly I explore
Searching for someone, there has to be more
I can't be the only one here
My path always guides me, there's nothing to fear
Then why do I feel so immensely alone
This can't be the end of my story
Onward I go once again
Fighting my way to my final breath
Into the abyss
Out so far beyond stars and the sun
Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown
Now, to the edge of imagination
Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope
Summon the strength of millenniums past
Forged by the fire and flame
I am the weapon of empires vast
Immortal is more than a name
Out so far beyond stars and the sun
Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown
Now, to the edge of imagination
Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope
Cry into the chasm ahead
Into the sky never ending, although
Time will tell if I'm worthy of it
A future of final transcending, alone
