Ha! Korpiklaani was my gate into metal too! I had listened metal before, but couldn't actually name and recognized anything else than Nightwish. Liked klaani's music, wanted to find more folk metal, and since then found all sort of metal. They sing in Finnish. Some of their lyrics are about some local folk tales: those are my favorites. The old guy with a hangover is a recurring character in their videos, he is an Iron Age smith, so I suppose it means the band is just some very veird instruments having Iron Age musicians, as they come visiting him. This song's lyrics however is just about what we see in the video: drunken guy, strange people coming, he is hiding inside. Title means "before," and in chorus it is sung that before he was able to drink his drinkables alone.
Question for the Finns - Does Korpiklaani translate to Raven Clan or Wilderness Klan? Google says Ravenclan, but as we know, Google translate isn’t always correct. BTW - I love Finland, I’m American-Finn and my family has kept in contact with our relatives in Finland for 120 years. I’m proud of my Finnish heritage! I just wish I could learn the d*mn language better. ❤️
you are right. The first 2 records were sung in Sámi. (idja and shamaniac) the name of the band was Shaman then ...
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮🤘
Greetings to Finland! I had no idea they were under a different name previously. I like the record title Shamaniac!

It translates to "wilderness clan"
you pronounce Finnish perfectly (at least the words Korpiklaani and ennen)
yay! So good to know we said it right 🥰🤘
Wrong song, should have listened to "happy little boozer".
