Being a Landlocked Missouri Fisherman, I enjoyed every minute of this video as it brought back memories of Fishing the upper Keys as well as the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico many years ago. While there are Mangroves in the Keys, the Yucatan is THICK with them and my young guide in Mexico literally pulled and pushed his skiff into a hole very much like these to let me take a shot at some small Tarpon so I could get OUR first Grand Slam. I had hooked, fought and finally landed a BIG Permit of about 18lbs on a Cotton Candy colored 4" Tube Bait I brought with me from St. Louis. It was dead on for a live Shrimp and everything that saw it ATE IT..! Next was one of the many Cookie Cutter Bonefish of the Yucatan and then it was on for the Tarpon. It didn't take long for one to eat the Tube and the Guide had his first Client who caught a Grand Slam. On the way out, he spied a GRANDE SNOOK... I cast to it and yep.. she ate it after two twitches of my 10lb Spinning Rod. Well... She left in a hurry and I couldn't slow her before she disappeared into the Mangrove behind her. POW... the thin PINK ANDE Mono separated and there went our "Super Grand Slam" We cried and then we laughed. Love your videos C.A.

I've been wanting to check out the 10k islands on my little skiff, but i want to make sure im being safe about it. Were y'all by chance carrying a vhf radio or other type of emergency signaling radio device? If so do you have one you recommend? Awesome video as always and I learned a lot!
VHF radio is a MUST HAVE. Get a Standard Horizon handheld. just keep in mind, the higher you are from the surface of the water, the better a radio works.

Do you really need the inline hook on the lure, other than the one on the END of the lure. I don't see the need for the lower hook. Pls explain.
