Hi Jennifer! Thanks a bunch! Some phrasal verbs are so common, that it's much easier to use them. By contrast, some phrasal verbs are much less frequently used. Sometimes I have trouble with them and may unknowingly use the wrong preposition. I learned I'd better use regular verbs if I'm uncertain.
Jennifer you are my best teacher on UA-cam. I never saw these kinda video about English language on UA-cam. Best part of your teaching style is your way of enunciation. you speak soo smoothly and articulately. as we are not knowing English we'll not grasp if someone speaks so quickly

Appreciate you efforts ma'am ☺️... My favourite teacher... I don't know how much I am gonna improve if I learn English with you atleast for 2 yrs

Hola thanks for sharing,I love all your videos are so good to me,I'm from 🇲🇽 and I'm learning English with you, thanks for all your great dedication and teachings miss❤
Absolutely 💯, your explanation for using phrasal verbs is correct so I sometimes avoid using because they are really confusing even though I prefer them... It is very important advice to stick to 😊!
That’s great🎉 Teacher Jennifer, Could you please teach us how we pronounce the /r/ sound in America? I always get confused We would be so grateful if you explained this sound to us in details ….
Let's Go! Before, I procrastinated learning phrasal verbs because they were confusing, with groups of similar words having completely different meanings. However, after learning other European languages, I began to think that phrasal verbs might be the true English verbs. Most formal English verbs have roots in Latin, like 'consider,' which comes from the Latin word 'considerare.' In contrast, phrasal verbs consist of words that originate from the Germanic language family, just like English itself. Thank you!
I'm glad you're starting to learn phrasal verbs! You're right-they come from the Germanic roots of English, and understanding them is key to sounding more natural in everyday conversation.
@@hideakiyamamoto8272 procrastinated sounds great to me. Excellent. In a less formal way you could say "I was put off learning phrasal verbs because..."
@@JForrestEnglish a long time ago I attented a business written English training, and the teacher who was English had said just like you ! Never a phrasal verb in a business letter, keep it formal. Now with emails many things have changed, when we get to know each other, it gets casual, friendly and we use phrasal verbs with our correspondents. I'm still learning good advice with your videos. Have a nice day🙏😊
Hello, Jennifer.😊 Phrasal verbs or regular verbs, I'd say it's a key to enjoy the process of learning. In the end, it depends, which I understand from your authentic tips. You hit the nail on the head! Thanks a bunch❗🥳😺
I suppose first phrasal verb I learnt was "shut up", but when an ogre appears, Dumbledore says "silence!!!", so I'm gonna learn Latin, which have no phrasal verb. You work a lot, Jennifer. Every day you put up a lesson. I thank you.

Hi Jennifer, how you doin' ?. That was a great explanation, Jennifer I don't wanna seem arrogant but I already know the importance of using phrasal verbs and you're ratifying it. BUT, I've come to the conclusion that the use of a phrasal verb depends on the situation or context, just like you said so I stay with that fact. You said, sometimes you just can't avoid using a phrasal verb in a conversation no matter if it's a formal meeting, well, you've got to use it 'cause, maybe there's no other way to express the idea or maybe you forgot the other word or expression. AND I believe that you gotta live in the USA or Canada (any other English spoken country) for a while if you wanna learn how to use the phrasal verbs correctly because if you do, I mean, if you live in one of those countries you can practice a lot and you use them in context or the correct situation constantly, all the time, in that way you start memorizing them. Anyway, that was an excellent video Jennifer and thanks for it. I'll be waiting for another one 👍.
Maybe you meant to say; what is THE DIFFERENCE between "QUIT" and give up ?. "Quit" NOT quiet, quiet means something else. Well, I'd say that they're both synonyms but I think there's a slight difference; "Quit", you use it when you wanna say that you're leaving a place. "GIVE UP" you use it when you wanna say that you stop doing something; Examples; - "She QUIT her job". (she left the place where she works, she's not gonna work there anymore). - "He GAVE UP smoking last year". (she stopped smoking, she doesn't smoke anymore) QUIT = present tense. QUIT = past tense (no change). GIVE UP = present tense. GAVE UP = past tense. Both are irregular verbs. BUT BASICALLY THEY'RE SYNONYMS, SOMETIMES THEY CONVEY THE SAME IDEA OR THOUGHT.
Yes, sometimes I feel my phrasal verb is grammatically incorrect.Once I said one native speaker that "you are the legend of your mind" he laughed too much and corrected my mistake by saying it's "A legend in one's own mind"
