- Some of the Photos I have collected over the last 10 years for my Facebook Group the History of Chester le Street. This is one of my many Chester le Street videos I have done over the years. I do them for future generations that may be interested as well as our older Generation to look back on.
I remember going to Chester le Street from Easington Colliery with my grandmother to visit her sister there in the late forties and early fifties. Loved the smell of the Horners toffee factory as we got off the bus! Sweet memories.❤😊
Big 👍up

Fantastic, how the street has changed, and not for the better either. Do you have any pictures of Northlands being built?
As the old saying goes "Happy Days "
Hiya Colin
Do you have any pics of the old youth centre near the baths?
Do you have any photos of the scout parade with band and drums on a Sunday up to the church in the 1960s?
Hey Colin, did you get your Army Surplus stuff in Owen Bros? That shop had a ton of good bargains back in the day.
I remember going in there for camping stuff it was a great little shop. Later on it moved in to a smaller shop opposite but it was not the same
@@colinthegeordiehistorian10 Got most of my jeans from there back in the 70s and early 80s, off brand stuff, but nobody cared about brands back in the day.
@@thefurrybastard1964 Spot on its all about Brands now not for me though I am old School lol
@@colinthegeordiehistorian10 My Cousin's youngest son says his kids get ripped to shreds if they don't have the right labelled shoes or jeans.
@@thefurrybastard1964 That is so sad we are living in a strange world.
