I honestly don't know what it is that cracks you up? As much as I love working on engines I can tell right away that Phil is someone I could not work with! Just seems like a know it all and it's his way or no way!
What a beautiful engine that sounds and runs AMAZING. Those torque and horsepower numbers almost equal at 668 and 670 is dang cool too! Great job Nick!
Nick , try cranking it first then flick on the ignition. Should crank alot easier. We have been able to crank big engines up with a lot more timing with that method. Good luck with that beast !
These are my favorite videos. The brothers Panaritis together in the dyno room. True professionals, and being brothers it's obvious that there's an unspoken communication between them. Today we have the engine builder also. Very good, not to talkative. Keeping his cards close to the vest. Excellent engine, consistent repeatable results. I'd love to have that engine in a sleeper chassis.
Great Job on the Hemi Project. Great to see the best engine builders in the business together working on getting the maximum power out of the Hemi. Great to see two brothers working together . Great Job Guys . Matt from RI
A Hemi 541 sounds like fun Now it's time for Nick to do a dyno run It's brand spanking new All American true blue At Nick's Garage master engineering is what they do and they've got the experience and the determination to pull through Big shout out from London to the Nick's Garage crew
I enjoy when the Brother's Pantaritis work and test engines. I hope that both of you, Nicholas and Phillip are together when you dyno my HEMI! Thanks for the great show. Thunder Road!!! Kocan
Good afternoon Nick George & Phillip, I've been waiting to see what this 541 Hemi will make on the Dyno. I remember that this was a build for the street, and the parts weren't that radical. I'm thinking 640HP & 660 TQ. Nick's Garage is a great place to be on a Monday afternoon, especially with a big Hemi on the dyno. Let her rip Nick!!
funny story. freshened up a 302 on a granada 77 new rod bearings etc. the crankshaft had a .6 cm piece missing on the rod journal from factory. I just reassembled and it ran fine.
This is looking GREAT! Looking forward to the fuel injection on the engine and what the Torque and Horsepower readings will be. Thank you Nick and George!
I wasn't kidding anybody just going on what Nick and his brother were saying but who knows where it will be with efi/injection though. Yours sounds pretty damn good though.
@@josipkirasic835 Maybe to you but if I had a Hemi I would make sure it be set on kill no use driving a weak street Hemi, yes I drove my B1 on the street set on kill 15:15 to 1 compression VP fuel you got to pay to play
The first thing I thought when you started it... so very very smooth... look at how little the idle is changing.... and you can see it's smooth. Even he low 970 ish idle was pretty dam smooth. It "sounded" smooth also... you know... that feeling you get when you hear an engine that sounds free and easy. Your little carby tweaks even got it smoother. Are they ceramic coated headers...?
Awesome Dyno session Nick amazing engine to nothing like the Facebook 572 you played with a few weeks ago. Again awesome engine build. Can't wait to see how it does with the electronic fuel injection...
Torque is king and always was. This bloke can drive this car anywhere with this HEMI and still sort out brand X no worries . To much HP is useless if you want to drive it a lot you be over it fast. She a weapon Nick put that in a 68 DART and she king 👑 of the street 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.
Now I'm no expert like these two, but with aluminum heads on my 400 ci Pontiac engine I had the initial timing set too low. I know these two are giving total timing. I had my initial timing set at 9 - 10°. On startup it would blow the air cleaner off. I called Edelbrock and they told me it was a slow burn combustion chamber and that aluminum heads can take a bit more timing than iron heads. I know completely different setups and engines. Always great to see Nic going through the problem solving with numerous testing and changes to parts as needed. Always looking forward to the next episode!
With aluminum heads you can generally run 1 extra point of compression and still run pump gas. Buddy built a 400 Pontiac with Eddy rpm heads and intake, Mild cam, headers. 10.5-1 compression. Made 450 HP and 515 TQ. Nice street combo.
I think what you are referring to is the starter fighting against the locked out timing. I think Nick probably could have gotten the motor spinning with the starter before activating the ignition to start, or pumped the carb a few times to purposely flood it and then crank it with the throttle held wide open instead of having to move the distributor to start. Nick knows what he's doing, though. Best not to question a master's techniques😊
Would like to see what that hemi could do with some boost that should kick up the power level. you guys are great together keep up the good work second to no one. kudos from texas.
It will be interesting to see how the fuel injection works on this hemi as opposed to the other hemi with the carburators that nick couldnt get to work right.
What smooth runner. It seems that there is minimal stress on the combination. I don’t believe that engine is inexpensive . Anyway great video Nick , Phil, and George

Thanks 👍

Yes it will
How are you going to hook it up on the street?
Love watching Nick's dyno video's specially when its a hemi on the dyno
Nice! More to come.

Almost a 7 cylinder Hemi. Nick and friends have all the cool stuff.
Nice combo - 670HP and it idles like slant six 😊
Thanks guy's for the show Hemi guna be cool have a great week everyone ❤uall 💪🏼🏁

We shall see. Haha.

Great numbers Nick for one sweet engine, Phil's right its a nice street cam. Now waiting for the run with the efi/injection. Have a beaut week all.
@blinkie1523 who you kidding that was WEAK only 650 hp about from a 541 Hemi I made 928 hp with a B1 511 cubics😢

Don Garlits used to run upwards of 40 degrees advance. Fun story about that when he first started running Hemi in NHRA
I've read the 40 degree figure. I'd like to know the reason for so much advance. Supercharged nitro of course. Is it something to do with that?
@plymouthroadrunner3893 not sure why.
Usually NO2 requires less timing. May simply be the shape of the chambers and piston crowns back then.
Not nitrous oxide, nitromethane - CH3NO2..
Garlit's was one of the first to run more timing in his engines, he had an advantage until everyone caught on to what he was doing.
hi nick good ep i like the hemi engine on the dyno a lot of horse power.

I’d love to drop that beast in a RamCharger and play Lone wolf Mcquad the Chuck Norris movie!
That's why you need a programmable electronic distributor
When Nick passes away(shudder the thought) he is slated to manage the dyno room in Mopar Heaven.
Can you leave the timing advanced and spin it with the coil off? Then when its spinning light the coil?
It's a beast. What's the bore/stroke of this engine?
I am ready to hear some sweet music 🎶 🎵
Let's go
Crank it up, Danoh!
I predict the carb will make more power than the fuel injection
Will find out soon.
Was the left rear plug wire loose? I noted some rough idle while Nick was checking those plug wires.
Hi Nick just curious when you went from 32 up to 34 degrees why not try 33 ?
Hi Nick, how many hours per week to you spend in your workshop?
