Green mountain (Nanaimo, BC)

- We went for a hike up Green mountain looking for wildlife and to see if we could find the remains of the old ski lodge/Ski hill. Along the way we found some poisonous mushrooms, and saw some elk. The view on top of the mountain was amazing.You could see Second lake, Echo Lake, Panther lake, and heart lake. One of the interesting things about this mountain is the large open grassy areas that slope up to a rocky cliff area that is semi easy to climb. On top of the cliff area is a small plateau that you can walk out to several different view spots which is kind of exciting. The back side of the mountain is a lot steeper and has a lot more rocky cliffs but still has some of the open grassy areas that make this mountain so unique. It doesn’t show on this video but there is also a road we drove on that takes you to the back side of the mountain where there was a recent forest fire.

Great vid, Skied there, the generator and lodge were burnt down by vandals ,was run by a not for profit type of people. Thanks for this.
No problem…It was a fun hike amazing views all around from the top. I had been up here when I was a child and had seen the lodge and other buildings before and it had always been on my bucket list… probably go up there again next fall.

Km …Possibly if I go up next time. Difficulty an out of shape guy in his 40s made it.. (there is some steep rocks to climb to get to the top.) elevation probably could be found googling Green mountain.
Hello! Just wondering when this was? I tried to make it up this summer and the road was washed out part way up. Quite a ways before where it shows you parked. Did you encounter this?
I posted this video the same day we went... we parked at where the road was washed out and walked... if it was a fresh washout then it would have happened since our trip... octoberish 2020
