Black Friday & Black Dynamite - From Blacksploitation Grandeur to Fighting Space-Zombies

We are at the end of the road. For now, at least.
The first film I am talking about is Black Friday from 2021. A film of dubious quality and a movie that really gave me different vibes. One one hand, it has great practical effects and has elements that remind me of Evil Dead and similar grotesque, gory flicks. On the other, it is too boring, stupid and poorly acted to really draw me in. Sadly, the good effects are wasted on what ends up being an unremarkable movie.
The second film, however, is one of my favourite movies of all time. Black Dynamite from 2009. It is a blacksploitation masterpiece! Or rather, it is parodying blacksploitation in the best way possible, especially mimicking the films of Rudy Ray Moore such as Dolemite, Human Tornado and Disco Godfather. Michael Jai White is a Vietnam War veteran, Kung-Fu Champion pimp, who protects his neighborhood against the woes of "The Man" and drugs. It is glorious. Magnificent. It is among the funniest and genuinely most entertaining movies I have ever seen.
I also briefly talk about the short Mortal Kombat Rebirth from 2010. It is quite decent.

Michael Jai White is an excellent martial artist. He is also, at least at times, an amazing actor with great comedic talent.
It is about time we give the man the respect, time and roles he deserves.

As described above, I will be talking about Black Friday from 2021, Mortal Kombat Rebirth from 2010 and Black Dynamite from 2009 in this video. I will not be doing any deep dives or thorough analysis of these movies. I will instead give you a quick review of each movie, including a plot summary, just to give you an idea if you'd like to watch the movie for yourself. There will therefore be some, relatively minor spoilers, so be aware of that.
