till few years back the box office numbers dint matter to Aamir. In the sense that on various platforms he has said that he doesnt believe in numbers. He is not bothered about ki kisi achhi film ne kitna kamaya? But now he knows the figures and doesn't even hesitate mentioning it publicly. Yes..Money and media..they do affect you. Having said that I am still keeping my faith in Aamir. He is one person who has single-handedly changed the definition of commercial cinema in Bollywood and there is no doubt about it.

that's probably bEcausE in d 90's box officE no didnt mattEr .....what mattered was whther the film was a hit , super hit or super duper hit......plus the budgets werent that humongous.....plus aamir wasn't anywhere near salman or srk....bt now he is argubally Numero eno...and has to compete for tooth and nail....with salman....plus what i think now that sooner than enough...ranbir and co would take over ....these guys are pretty ahead in terms of risk taking abilities or its jsut that what mr perfctionist did in d 90's has now become quite acceptable within the mainstream...

While Dangal is a good story, it runs contrary to the message Aamir presented in TZP. Completely un-did the message of respecting the freedom of kids & respecting their childhood
you do realize that Dangal is a biopic of Mahavir Singh Phogat who was a strict disciplinarian. The message of Dangal was not " respecting freedom of kids" ; the subtle under lying message of Dangal was that given a chance, girls can do as well as boys in anything. The message of 3 idiots "respecting the freedom of kids to choose their career" is still relevant.
