The main difference between the two is the form of fruit. Jelly is made using fruit juice, while jam is made using whole fruits that have been smashed or crushed. Because of this, jam can have seeds or pieces of fruit in it, while jelly has the fruit parts strained out of it.
I love jackfruit!!! I had never had it until by Vietnamese mother-in-law introduced the dried jackfruit to me. SO GOOD. Keep up the great work Dustin and Reche!
Hi! Jam and Jelly are different but similar. Jelly is made with fruit juice and has a gelatin consistancy . Jam is made with the whole fruit and contains the fruit parts and is a thicker texture . Not really thicker but maybe more solid. They are both good on buttered toast, or muffins .
Dustin, here in Puerto Rico we make a similar "jam" using green papaya fruit cut in half and cut into 3/8" slices. The slices should be about 2-3" long. The process is just like she cooked the Jack fruit, but also adding vanilla and a couple of cinnamon sticks. It can be put in jars with caps and refrigerated. Tell Reche to cook it for you. You will love it. Blessings
@@DustinBackpacks Dustin, I forgot to mention that very little water is needed as the green (unripe) papaya will provide the liquid needed. So the recipe for a medium size papaya peel the outer green cover and cut into slices . Put into a medium size pot, add a small (1/2 cup) of water and place the papaya slices into the pot. After a while it will start boiling and then put in the approximate 1/2 kilogram of brown sugar. After the sugar starts to liquify, add the 3 sticks of cinnamon and vanilla and you can also add some pitted prunes as you see fit. Let it boil for about 10 minutes and add the other half kilo of brown sugar. Let it boil until the consistency of pancake syrup. Let it cool and place in the fridge. You will love the results. Blessings
Hi Dustin. In my opinion the name Venus may also refer to”Venus, ancient Italian goddess associated with cultivated fields and gardens and later identified by the Romans with the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite..” As to the jackfruit jam you may also use white sugar so as to retain the yellow color of the jackfruit.😊
On this episode of the Philippines: Dustin and his hunnie bunnie were in a treat (yup a treat.. hope you enjoy) They were treated along with Arny how to make Jackfruit Jam while Lola is making it Jam style Dustin was amazed how it became sugar after being on the stove for 3 hours :P Dustin took the plate to Lola's house to let it cool :P Of course he was dancing over the music but they didn't mind they liked having them around :P Dustin is still having a blast during his 3rd chance at the Philippines so far :P Well... they had a grand day today :P
Aside from jackfruit jam that looks good by the way,😋 you can also make guava jam or guava jelly if guavas are in season. Same process but for guava jelly, you have to boil many over ripe guavas and mashed it & strained it & boil the liquid with brown sugar until it thickens, then there’s your guava jelly. I prefer this with a loaf of bread & coffee. 😋
Is this a fruit picking and eating series, we have seen nothing but fruit for the past 7 or 8 vlogs! We are definetely pipped out now. Jam.....yummy, love home made jam. My mum used to make marmalade, we loved it because it had no peel bits in it she used to liquidise it....tasty on toast for breakfast.
Oh wow l am first Hope everyone has a blessed day. Ingat always and take care of yourself always people. Reche you are beaming maganda I think your nose is getting longer. 🤔 🇬🇧🙏🇵🇭
Jams and jellies are two types of fruit spreads that provide similar nutritional value and potential health benefits. However, since jams are made with crushed fruits and jellies are made with fruit juice, they differ in appearance and texture. Both jams and jellies are high sugar products that should be consumed in small amounts
Dustin the string like petals U R holding and asking if it can be used. It can be deep fried fast and then shake some salt and eat it like Chips as a snack. U can also add Red Chili powder and salt or Black Pepper and salt also. It will go well with Beer or TUBA
