I moved to Texas in 1980, Before that I lived in Kansas City and worked for J. A. Tobin Construction company. I was on the survey party that surveyed the land for Royals stadium and Arrowhead. I've been a Chiefs fan since the first game played in the old stadium. I will always remember the Christmas day game in 1971 when Ed Podolak had 350 total yards. 85 rushing, 110 receiving, and 155 returns. The Chiefs lost to Miami in the still Longest game in NFL history.
Welcome to Chiefs Kingdom y'all!❣Nicest fans, best tailgating, great BBQ, & the Home of the CHIEFS!!❤ Next time try the KS. Turnpike. It's worth it. I used to make the trip from Big D to KC alot to visit my Parents. Thanks for sharing your experience! GO CHIEFS!!
Thanks for all the comments everyone! It’s official and was official after that trip that we are definitely Chiefs fans now. That is mostly because my wife Jenn has never been into football that much until she had this experience at Arrowhead. She adopted this team and loved watching them every Sunday. Prior to Arrowhead we went to Jacksonville in 2016 and the experience was nothing compared to Arrowhead. Thank you KC and Chiefs Kingdom for such a great experience. Forever fans in Waco, TX! We didn’t get to come back in 2019 but we will for sure come in 2020!
I'm glad you enjoyed your time at Arrowhead. I often take it for granted since I live only a few minutes from the stadium. But it's always nice to have a new visitor. And I'm happy that you had a good time during your time there. Good luck on your hunt for a NFL team to be a fan of.
Nice! Best time to be at arrowhead stadium for a noon game is 6:30 AM when its a noon game. When I go, I get there around that time to beat the line of getting in. And since we usually tailgate, we get there and into the parking lot around 7-7:30 AM and get to cooking up! We get a small grill and take out table, tent, and coolers and get our party on. Then at around 10-10:30 AM we go inside the stadium and get pictures and videos of the chiefs warming up. Fun times! Go CHIEFS!
The Jacksonville game, turned out to be nice weather wise. Glad you had a great experience at Arrowhead! Let us know, what team you decided to be a fan of! Hopefully, it’s the Chiefs, if not, it’s all good just the same. You’re always welcome to Kansas City.
Been a raider fan for 35 years My good buddy has been a chiefs fan for just over 20 years. We plan on taking a trip to arrowhead this year with both my kids and his kids When the raiders play the chiefs. Neither of us have never been and are curious as to the best seats for families at a reasonable price. Any advice?
Fernando Cabanillas we sat in the upper level home side as you see in the video. Paid $35 each at the time but probably hard to find at that price now. Seats were great and the fans were awesome up there with us. Rowdy too! Such a great time!
dustin persinge Unfortunately no, weren’t prepared for that but sure wish we would have even in the rain. The atmosphere was so electric! Definitely next time! We are going this season if things return to normal.
I've lived in Texas my whole life. Been a Chiefs fan 25 years. Been to Arrowhead 3 times. Proposed to my wife while tailgating at Arrowhead in 2012.
KCFANJJ1 best proposal ever huh!
