El Estepario Sibariano is probably one of the best drummers out there. It is so entertaining to watch how he played this song, Safri Duo’s “The Bongo Song (Played Alive)”. I remember when this song was first released and it became an instant hit in the nightclub scene. This song probably took a lot of effort to get right, but when El Estepario is involved….he just makes it look easy.

He has mentioned that this is the hardest piece he ever performed in one take. Not live, mind you. He said it took about 50 takes and that nobody can play this version live. Not just about hitting the right notes at the right time, but the dynamics and power.
