I did this about a year and a half ago but I stacked a 4” extension on top of the 10”. I purposefully choose a lighter weight knob as to not put a lot of stress/weight at the end of a long arm so it doesn’t want to fall out of odd number gears and it doesnt stress and wear the sycros and sliders. It definitely is smoother, easier, and a hell of a lot more fun to shift
Looking good big riggin, I had a bud light beer tap that I put on my nv4500 5 speed that was level with dash, so much easier to shift, it fell right into gear
Also the Strawberrita paint job is awesome ! You can paint the steering column no problem and for plastic just scruff it up and clean with isopropyl 91% alcohol before you spray the plastic and it will stick good .
You touched on it but I highly recommend the fuel bowl delete with the fass. It’s a PITA but worth it in the end, also a slightly better HPOP, and you’ll be good.
It seems like more effort than it might be worth. Especially when needing to grab a gear quickly. I'm glad you can go back to stock if you get tired of it.
Hey Ryan I would look at the fuel pressure regulator spring in the fuel bowl, it is notorious for going out and causing late starts like this

You should look into re doing your steering wheel. Chris fix has a great video how to wrap it with new leather. It’d look and feel awesome
As long as you have ruled out a high or low pressure oil pump I recommend a xdp gear reduction starter

I’ve had good luck using super glue to keep shifters from loosening. Not as strong as loctite, easier to remove and redo but strong enough to hold everyday too.
Knowing dalton from dudes fab shop and how he puts super duty axels under his builds, specifically dodge😉 my guess is new lift for the 6.7 🤫🤭

Hey Ryan. Look up Ohio diesel shifters they have a full stainless steal 18” semi shifter that’s the same hight I’d love to see you review that
If it’s any colder than like 45 the ol 7.3 won’t come off cold at idle the radiators are just so big that they just run super cold unless your drinking I’ve drove mine one at -10 and even driving down the road barley came above cold and went right back to cold and high idle when I stopped
for the fass installl vid can you go indepth for the ones that want too install on there own 7.3 but havnt done one before! love the build
Clean the plastics well. Degrease, scuff, alcohol, then adhesion promoter and sem fabric dye the appropriate color
From a trucker driver you should look up the buzzard shift knob with your truck it would look sick showing through the windshield
You should powder cope the shifter green and do a purple knob
Ryan I think you long crank on that 7.3l the injector pump is an oil base so the oil might need to.get change

Honestly many people ask why truck drivers have those extensions, being an otr truck driver your back is constantly under stress. Most people drive with no air in their seat and having an extension on the shifter helps straighten the back a bit.
Wrangler knobs are the same way. It sucks cause its almost impossible to get it off without some kind of damage.

Also far as the temp Guage not moving it's more thn likely not thermostat could possibly be the coolant temperature switch/sensor on top of the thermostat housing I'd check tht 1st

That looks cool and fun in your pick-up but if I got in my Kenworth and had to deal with that all day I'd have to kill someone before the day was over, I drive in town and construction job's so it's a shit ton of shifting all day but if I was OTR still I probably wouldn't mind a tall shifter at all.. Have fun, be safe, keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down little buddy!

Sounds like possibly a bad check valve in the fuel system if it’s taking a while to crank
Put a nut underneath the knob and then tighten it up against the knob , it will not loosen up anymore ,, just cut the threads down so there is only like 2 threads under the jam nut…
I used 2 pipe wrenches on the shift know and it came loose 😂 it works
