Thanks. I find the proces that works best for me is pen and paper for the lyrics, a Korg PS 60, a drum machine and a sequencer for the song, Then I sing a clean vocal track to get the intonations like I want them and use Musicfy with a predefined AI voice instead of my own - you should thank me..:-) then I mix the instrumental track with the new voice and master it a bit. I really enjoy this and even though my songs will normally get 100- 200 views - or a few K´s if very lucky I still have a lot of fun. AI is a fantastic tool.
@@villagerobot I think using ai takes away from actual people doing the same things, because let's say someone works on a song without ai, they will have spent ages on it, but someone else can replicate it with ai in like a day. It takes away from creativity, rather than enhance it.
@@CalebOfKartin I don´t entirely disagree that maybe it is unfair. But using technology is a natural thing. You don´t see many cartoons being hand drawn on paper any longer and you don´t regard using computer animation as cheating - do you? AI will be a part of future music industry and nothing is going to change that. All big stars will be using it also. But the way it is used - sure - that matters. Only "we" cannot dictate that. For me personally - I sing horribly so using AI for my songs and letting it improve on my vocal is a good route. I could have collaborated with a good singer - yes - but then I could not make the music by myself as I wish. Using Chat GPT to write the lyrics and have some AI service make your song in 5 seconds that approach obviously can be used - but does not appeal to me and is to "random" - not really creative. What I find challenging and fun is to write the lyrics and make the melody - and to make it sound good. I wish I could also sing but that is just not a gift I have so I am perfectly willing to use technology to compensate here.
@villagerobot my issue with it stems from the fact that the more people who use ai, the more drowned out actual creatives will be, thus moving the spotlight off of real artists and making modern music mass produced AI slop
@@CalebOfKartin I don´t think we really disagree that much but - yes that will happen and there is nothing anybody can do about it. But you also seem to have some implicit assumptions in there - like artists, creativity and time spend = quality. For my own case if I retained my own vocals I would spend less time on a track but the result would be inferior. No matter how much "artist" I call myself. AI will be in all the tools and probably even the instruments we play so there will be no way around it. I think the end result is what matters - a good songs is a good song any day. Then how it was made I would actually maybe like to keep a mystery for me. Did it take The Weekend 3 minutes to make a song or one year? Who cares? As long as the song is good. For me it is the overriding quality that counts ie. the end result. If somebody got there by a click of the mouse I wouldn´t really mind. I would mind getting flooded with crap that nobody really put any effort into - so in this I share your opinion. But like I said for me it is writing the lyrics and making the beat on the synthesizer that I love..and I love when it turns out well. Maybe you think I cheat on the vocals then - but like I said I actually use my own vocals that is then cleaned up by AI. Much music today is autotune and modified anyway. I think we kinda agree..."being flooded with crap is not good" and that is really for me not even important how it was made. Could be totally non AI but just not a good song.
