Denmark is part of NATO, and the US already have defacto control of Greenland with its military bases. This is not about security, it is about resources.

@yanyeetan1727 the island would be much more militarized under the US. And China currently owns land with over 70% of the world’s rare earth minerals essential for making advanced military equipment. NATO (besides Greenland) has less than 5%. The resources are extremely important to and they need to be mined ASAP. Neither Denmark nor Greenland has the capabilities. The US does. Greenland would experience an economic boom and our alliance would be a whole lot stronger

President Trump elect has not ruled out the use of military force in the case of Greenland or the Panama Canal.Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark which is both a NATO and EU member. The Panama Canal came into the ownership of Panama under the Torrijies Carter Treaty of 1977 which is a legally binding International Treaty. He has also reffered to Canada as becoming US territory which is both a NATO and Commonwealth member whose Head of State is King Charles 111 the monarch of the United Kingdom also a NATO member. This policy if enacted would be the end of the post war rules based order thus enabling Russia with Chinese backing to restablish the borders of the old Soviet Empire and China to annexe Taiwan.

All the way back in 1951. : The Greenland Defense Agreement of 1951 was concluded between Denmark and the USA on 27 April 1951. It implies that the USA, under the auspices of NATO, shall assist Denmark in the defense of Greenland, and that the USA has the right to free access throughout Greenland. The agreement replaced the Greenland Defense Agreement of 1941, which was concluded by Henrik Kauffmann in Washington DC on 9 April 1941.
And from our Ministry of Foreign Affairs website the following can be read: ….Likewise, the USA has confirmed with the Igaliku Agreement from 2004 that it will consult and inform the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of Greenland prior to any significant change to the USA's military operations or facilities in Greenland.
So the USA has complete freedom to create the bases it wants, in addition to the one it has Thulebase/Pituffik Space Base. In 2025, there are about 700 people attached to the base, primarily American personnel.
American-Australian company has already bought the rights to strategically important rare earth metals in Greenland. And more are on the way. Long before Trump. Only a large country can develop such territories as Greenland. The Roman Emperor Nero with Corbulo created Frisia Magna - empire of blondes - because the roman octavian august dynasty were blondes. This was done because of the blockade of Rome from the south by Cleopatra and because of the murder of Julius Caesar by the Iranians with Labienus. It was based on an ancient Vedic India transport corridor across the Atlantic from Amerisk and then branching through Africa and Gardarika Volga-Caspium sea-Indus river to the indian and Pacific oceans (blue-eyed Kalash in Pakistan are Frisians). As a sea port Greenland was included there. The American pineapples in the frescoes of Pompeii arrived in the markets of Rome in via this route
