- That's right, we are out of the OnX Offroad Build Challenge 2.0. Why, well watch the video. Unfortunately too many changes created too many costs and too many re-assessments to the build that took away from our desire to build the vehicle we wanted to build. So we stepped away from it for this year and ask that you continue to follow along with our builds going forward. There are some exciting ones ahead.

You gotta do what's right for you. To be honest, I am less interested in the competitions than I am in the builds, heading out on the trail, and a group of friends all helping each other out and looking out for each other.

the builds are awesome, the off-road challenge would be fun, but the social media popularity contest is very stupid. who cares who gets the most votes on a social media website. it makes the potentially coolest contest completely useless since it is just based on popular votes

You are the man Colt!! Not many of these ONX builds are realistic for a guy in his garage with a small bank account to execute. You are one of my favourite channels because you are diverse and when you build you cover the details in plain clear language. Keep it going buddy!!

The onX comp was goofy last year. Seemed like they aimed for people to trash vehicles.
I think what makes UA-cam channels like this so good is that you build what you want.

I knew it was going down hill as soon as Nate changed vehicles mid competition.
I've followed FabRats and Colt this entire process, some Mischief thrown in as well, and the timeframe seems like it is too close for comfort. Everyone has a life, multiple vehicles and other projects, and to me, forcing another build on people that already have full schedules is crazy. I like Ian, have watched him on and off since he started in the late 90's early 2000's on tv. Whether it's his idea for this or higher up the production chain is unknown. Anyway, I do like that Colt is sticking to his morals and building what he wants.
Sounds great! I watch all of your videos. I've always been 50/50 on OnX Build events/videos. Great ideas, but just not as rewarding as watching you, Matt, Rory, etc. do your own thing. I'm sure it is tough making those decisions from a time and monetary standpoint.

I don’t blame you for dropping out. You have too much time money and labor invested to build something you didn’t agree to. I like the diversity of the projects you do, that’s why you’re my favorite channel. I am looking forward to the new build and oh yeah, those goat heads suck!!!

Mad respect for sticking to your guns! Honestly I agree with you on the direction of the Pacer build and would much rather see a Baja build. As far as my favorite build, I really like Paul's Willy's wagon.

Another thing. I will watch ur Run the races. My daughter is 12yo. She see’s ur wife and now I actually hear her say. I would like to do that or go there. I am not into the burn out thing. Notice Roddy saw people didn’t care to much about the burnout mobile? I actually gave thumbs down on all that.

For all the youtubers that I follow, I can tell you that most of them are at their best when they're doing something they're interested in and that really shows on their channel performance.

I’m enjoying watching the three teams building vehicles…you Rudy and BleepinJ. Most of us are interested in the imagination and fab work. I enjoy watching the vehicles in action but the hair dood on the TV show I can live without. You guys basically ARE the show and watching your channels is 10x better.
I'll bet that wasn't an easy decision, but you have to stay true to yourself and what you want to build.
You have the best build and trail ride channel out there. You do an amazing job of explaining what and why you are doing. Your channel has been keeping me motivated to finish my '77 Cherokee Chief. Almost there now-- one tons, LS swapped and built for fun. Thank you for letting us into your life and see your passion.
Hey Colt, No problem at all. I just enjoy watching you build things no matter what it is I always learn something from you. I'm 69 and have been working with my hands and tools for many years but things change and so does wrenching. I enjoy watching you/Paul/Rory/ and the rest of the fab guys (to many to name). I can't do what I use to do but watching you guys makes me feel like I'm somehow still doing it. Later
OH Man! That's sad but I kinda seen it coming. With all the rule and vehicle changes, I didn't see how any of the competitors would be ready for the event. So, do you have to EAT the expense of starting the build or is ONX covering that? I love what your doing and appreciate how you posted about 828strong to support the hurricane victims. I too donated and solicited that cause on my videos/channel. We were hit hard with two 'Canes in Florida
Thank you for this as i've followed all of you and the word "overlander" has stuck to my head from the start and then the builds were not even near the style of overlanding.
I never cared about the onx bs ... I watch You, Paul and Rudy for the builds but not the overland games ... same as last year I wtched You and Rudy build your 4x4 but never the actual challenge ... You just be you and do what you like and your true followers will glady watch whatever you do.
Rules should of never changed good call hopping for the best for you much love and respect 🙏

the builds and trail challenges would be cool to see. but voting for your favorite team just voids all challenges and contest aspects

I’m here because I enjoy builds and like watching Colt and a lot of the other builders.
From an outsiders POV, the OnX build challenge is so confusing. Their requested build plan seemed to keep changing and while it makes sense that safety might not be included in the $ limit then it sorta got weird. Like it’s good to still have a limit, but a huge chunk wasn’t included.

Im one of the people that watch all of your videos regardless of content. I'm happy you're actually gonna build it the way you want to. I knew this competition was getting out of control when I saw how other people were bending the rules. The offer that you and I talked about still stands with the pacer, whenever you're ready.
I was wondering why we haven't seen much on this build!
Keep the faith and do what YOU need to do. We'll all still be here watching.
Good for you. I do love the Pacer build as my Uncle was still driving a pacer in 2018 when the Dr.s said he had too quit driving. I learned to drive in a pacer that looked much like the one your working with (that and a 65 GMC Pickup). He is now in his 90's.

Honesty is such a rare trait these days. Thank you for demonstrating such a huge level of it! I've not been impressed with the whole build rules being changed midstream like they were. It is as if Ian and the rest of the organizers were trying to slant the competition in favor of a couple of teams, and you guys weren't one of them. I'm not even a little irritated with your decision! BTW, I sent you an email last night. I just wanted to let you know that it's not spam.
100% behind your decision. I recall early in this series you informing that you could not do this as a solo builder. The idea of teaming up with Rory was suggested to which both you and Rory started the Pacer build. Soon it became apparent that you became the primary builder. Sad that we will not see you to the conclusion of this series but I support your decision. Looking forward to the buggy build and the Racer Pacer. Love your channel.

Hi Colt. It's too bad you guys had to bow out. But It's completely understandable. I do watch your channel and Trailmater, and Matt's channel, Dirt head dave, along with Fred Williams channel, Merlin old school garage. Paul cox. And VVG along with several others. Being 66 years old and partially disabled it reminds me of back in the day when I was a young man building things like this without all the modern technology all we had was a cutting torch and a welder we literally built everything . Our own suspension, cobbled together drives lines,rear ends with Lincoln lockers. It was a wonderful time in my life. It would have been fantastic to have had the companies out there that are there now to help support what you folks do, that was luxury we didn't have. Y'all keep building and I'll keep watching. Colt, I watch you, Paul (fabrats), Rory (trailmater), Matt (Matt's off-road), and I watch wrecker Rick (Murphy's diesel). And I love watching everyone's different point of view to builds and takes on what works and what doesn't. You all have one thing in common, you're humble. So when things don't work out due to life... You all seem to kind of freeze and start to freak... As many of us told Rory yesterday, the true really fans will stay through thick and thin... The rest fall away because of x,y,z... But there will always be x,y,z for those people no matter who they watch. I love the channel, would love to get a chance to meet all of you one day!

Respect. Quit my last job after my boss didn’t care that he was sending me out of state on my anniversary. Wife was upset but didn’t say anything, I knew I should’ve quit instead. Quit as soon as I got back. Family first always

Do what's best for you and your family's needs. I watched a similar thing happen in the 2A UA-cam community. Once big $ and big media gets involved, the product gets watered down and authenticity goes out the window. I like watching all the build videos from the different channels and seeing the final product. I couldn't care less about the actual competition.

Colt, I watch every video you do, crawling over the tallest peaks in Colorado and giving me more Information in one video than I ever learned when I lived in that area, but was too busy earning a living to go see it.... why is it, we never get around to looking at what is in our backdoors, then wish we "had done that" when we move 1500 miles away?
I saw Rory's video last night where he explained about the build being called off, because he just could not do it without interrupting his wedding plans... and that ain't cool... Figured you and he had planned these releases to coincide together, and I appreciate that....
