    Oh... I suffer with you...
I wish you good luck and perseverance!
I had a 'visit' from thrips last October....
ALL affected leaves/shoots were radically cut away (and carefully disposed of directly into a rubbish bin and taken out of the house). Then all the plants were given a good shower - everything was cleaned (pots, surroundings, surfaces) ...
and watered all plants with the systemic agent.
Blue stickers were also hung on all the plants and checked daily.
After 14 days everything started all over again (showered and watered with the agent)...
So far everything seems to be ok (the plants thriving 😊🌿)
The blue stickers are renewed regularly so that I can intervene in good time when necessary ☺️🌱

Thank you! I do not want to go through another plant burn out so perseverance it is 🤭
      What are the blue stickers?

The blue sticky labels are against thrips (thrips probably like the colour blue) - just like the yellow ones against fungus gnats

@@myjunglestoryYes, we ordered the blue sticky traps via Am##on... (in Germany)
      from Panngu - 50 pieces blue sticky traps- 200mmm x 150mm...
(they can be cut to size, have protective film on the adhesive surfaces...).
I can really recommend ☺️🌿 The sticky traps are said to work particularly well on the Californian flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis).

I use a pressure sprayer with a mix of tea tree castile soap, peppermintcastile soap, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, and water. This has worked for spider mites and thrips for me. For flat mites (I have lots of hoya) I did use sulfur, but now I just use a soft toothbrush and a scrub under running water.

I have flatmites on several Hoya and they like pothos too. So I have been doing sulfur spray on all my plants. Had thrips on my monstera genus last late summer. Yes pretty sure they came from a store I had purchased a new plant. I sprayed weekly with Captain jacks and did granular systemics. Finally gone and no soil nats

Yes unfortunately with my job my chances of getting pests is high. I’ve heard of captain jacks but I don’t know if I can get it in Belgium…

I had the thrip problem and discovered that they don’t like moving air. 🌿

      @@myjunglestory Hi!
As a rare plant collector, It’s been my experience that most pests can be kept under control with moving air.
We discovered this quite by accident when we bought a 10x10 grow tent for the overflow of plants. It’s outfitted with multiple clip on fans on the frame. Our other plant space is a sunroom also 10x 10 with good light but poor ventilation. Just about every plant in the sunroom was plagued with spider mite and mealy bugs within a month.
One new plant in the grow tent was infested with thrips and I thought we were doomed.

@@surgeinc1 ja I only have 2 windows that can open in my living room/kitchen but it’s only one side. So the front of the house has a huge window with no windows so I can’t get a good amount of air flow if it’s only coming from one side unless I open the front door 🙄 maybe I just need to keep our Dyson fan on all year round and not just in the summer….

Having bugs sucks. And it’s so hard to get a treatment that states it works for thrips in Ireland. Maybe they call them something else? Who knows. Still looking!! lol.

I can’t imagine they call them something else there but maybe they do have another name… the devils 😂 maybe ask someone working at your local garden center, they must know.

Here in the UK we call them thunderflies, thunde bugs, storm flies, some call them corn lice. But I'm told their real name is thysanoptera. That's a long name for the little buggers. Hope this helps you find a remedy. I use a really weak solution of warm water and washing up liquid. One little squirt per liter. So it barely bubbles.
