This interview was riviting. Loved these guys and they are great examples of "heros" if there really is such a thing. Their patriotism rivals mine. Loved it!!! It may have gotten a little sensative and personal at times but we haven't seen much good journalism in the last 5 years or so, so this was to be expected from Megyn.

while the US taxpayers footed the bill.
Shouldn’t American know by now
that the US not only paid US soldiers to go over there
but they also paid the Afghan soldiers MORE than US soldiers
to fight there?
Total cost was 2.26 trillion dollars
300 million dollars per day
spent on this war for 20 years.
800 billion direct war fighting
269 billion US veterans
85 billion train the Afghan army
5 billion a year per in aid for Afghanistan
750 million for the Afghan soldier payroll
So the US finds that it was cheaper
to pay the Afghan army
then actually send US soldiers there.

Imagine if Afgh*n*st*n had invaded a country for 20 years
tried to transform it but built nothing
destroyed and killed 47,000 innocent civilians.
Then fled in the middle of the night
leaving behind millions of dollar worth of military equipment
and abandoned all its allies as it went.
Doesn’t that country’s withdrawal exposed the hypocritical face of it
forcing its so-called 'freedom, democracy and human rights’ on others
and push for regime changes around the world
has led to conflict, war, terrorism, refugees?
But at the cost about 2 trillion US dollars
and more than 2,000 US soldiers' lives,
thousands coming home with mental health
that country just could not handle it.
Isn’t it a portrayal of the current decline in the US' national strength?
But we’re expected to believe that country has accomplished the mission
and they should get some credit for ‘ending the war’.

I am a USMC, three tours w/the 1stMarDiv., served with 1st Shore Party, 1st, 5th and 7th Marines in my three deployments. Morgan is right our military should have been last to leave, they are trained to fight and make it. Not save themselves before the noncombatants. Instead, we as a country ran, embracing.

Another tough thing for Afghanistan Veterans (I live with one, so know well) is not really having their service noted or those of their friends who died. It’s not just the US military - there are plenty of allied countries that fought too and have broken people come back. Not a day has gone by this last week when someone hasn’t had to be talked down off the ledge in our circle. Much love from Australia

@Jordan Issaquah False in every way. There is no political majority in this country, as independents like myself are numerous enough to prevent that.
Republicans happen to fight racism in a way you choose to define as racist. For instance, Republicans trust that blacks, for instance, are fully capable of obtaining ID sufficient to vote and want that in the interest of fair elections. Democrats think they cannot and call voter ID racist. If you ask blacks on the street if they have ID, guess what they say? They have it like everyone else does, and say it is racist to think otherwise.
Democrats hold abortion as a central position of their policy, and they fight to fund Planned Parenthood, who build the majority of their abortion mills in black neighborhoods. This is why more black children were aborted than were born in New York City last year. So Democrats are instrumental in the decline of blacks as a percentage of the population. How is that not the most racist policy and outcome ever?
Who has been hurt most by Democrats defunding police? Low income blacks who cannot afford to move out of their dangerous neighborhoods which now have less policing, and fewer stores near them to shop at because those stores cannot keep up with the subsequent increase in shoplifting with fewer police to arrest the shoplifters. Thanks, Democrats.
I could go on and on with examples. Republicans are far from perfect. But Democrats, who I don’t believe are racist at heart, but rather spend all their efforts designing policy which attempts to make Republicans look racist, end up with policies that absolutely do not help blacks. Republicans try to help everyone with policies that are not based on skin color. Often those policies fail. But I t is only the Democrats who have this obsession with race, because it is the only way they think they can win elections. They should spend their efforts just working on good policy regardless of race.
@Jordan Issaquah I am not obsessed with the founders, nor are any conservatives I know. But they are very pleased with what the founders created in the Constitution and the importance of it having allowed our country to become the fairest, safest, wealthiest country in history, with mechanisms for even more improvement. People are clamoring to get into our country. Most are black and brown. If we are so racist, why do they come? Sadly, we see Democrats using every means they can to circumvent those Constitutional mechanisms because they can’t make good enough arguments to make the changes they want as soon as they want in the proper manner. They also want to try things like socialism which have failed everywhere they have been tried, and degenerated into communism which killed 100 million people in the 20th century. If you want to change things, make a better argument and convince people. So far that has not happened.

-removed God from their platform;
-assists those who are a few decades further along in their human life cycle and cannot control their sexual urges to kill those whom they create simply because they are arbitrarily earlier in their life cycle, innocent, vulnerable, and inconvenient;
-expands government endlessly and unconstitutionally;
-taxes and spends endlessly to further their own power;
-uses the Judicial Branch to make changes they cannot get done in Congress;
among many other things. They are getting worse and more incompetent all the time at doing what they are supposed to do-keep us safe and protect our God given freedoms. I urge everyone to never vote for a Democrat for anything ever again.

I don't / can't hold a candle to the Luttrell brothers (both SEALs w/ extensive combat experience) ... BUT ... I am a retired Navy Chief w/ 5 combat deployments (don't get excited, I didn't actually experience actual combat but was "in theater" as they say...). To say that the Biden Administration, top to bottom, FUBAR'd this exit operation inside and out, left to right, bottom to top, would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. This Bravo Sierra of the Biden apparatchiks (including, sadly, the military components who should damn well know better Austin, Milley AND Kirby) trying to pin this on Trump is Taliban level BS. Under the Trump exit strategy, it was CONDITIONS BASED so that if the Taliban so much as stepped where they shouldn't, they would pay the price. If Trump was in charge of this operation, there would have been a hundred mile perimeter established around Bagram Air Base and Kabul and if the Taliban crossed over ONE INCH, Trump would have sent in the B52 bombers and decimated them by the thousands .... UNTIL we got all of our civilians out, all of our equipment not specifically allocated to the Afghan Army out, destroyed whatever we could not take with us, and only THEN would the US Embassy been closed and personnel evacced out of there, out of BAGRAM Air base, and the US flag would be last to go along with the military. This was a massive CLUSTER "F" on a Biblical scale and Biden and the Democrats own every stinking piece of it.

The Montagnards of Vietnam's Central Highlands were the prime example of what our leadership is doing to the Afghani support commandos/units today. The Green Berets even tried going back themselves to get some of them out of Vietnam and into the US when they were being hunted down and killed by North Vietnam after the US left. Regardless of anyone's politics, it does not make logical sense to abandon those who helped you in any situation because your reputation will stick with you. Unlike during Vietnam, the world is much smaller and I do not think the US would be able to continually garner the help of indigenous forces in the future unless we right this wrong.
At 05:55 "Sending in the Airborne". That's a f'in hooah! Honestly, we had to leave. But not like this. Not by abandoning those who chose us over the animals. We JUST CAN'T leave people behind. I don't understand why it's so hard for our president to say that. Good on him for taking a stand to leave. I say that as a republican. But you CANNOT abandon people. You can pussyfoot around with arbitrary dates over doing the right thing.

Congressional committees should investigate how this happened. Two main questions:
1. The Pentagon and State Department were given a timeline, so why did they not speed up the processing of visa applications for Afghan helpers?
2. Why did the Pentagon not have a plan prepared for the worst case scenario (collapse of the Afghan regime)?
