Why do all chansaws not have this?.. ...because you don't need it, it doesn't do anything for startup and a running chainsaw certainly doesn't need it. The only thing I can imagine is cold air is richer in oxygen and would therefore make the saw run lean. But then again there is no time for that air to heat up on the way from the flywheel to the carb throat.
I wouldn't think removing the cover as I did or flipping that seasonal plate will effect your warranty. You are supposed to flip it and I doubt anyone would be able to tell you took the cover off. Also if your air filter was plugged with saw dust, it would make more sense to clean the filter or replace it, than leave it be because of a warranty

Truckers call them bras .
If you still have warranty on it, don’t take anything apart it will void your warranty as soon as you start messing with it

If one reads their owners manual they will all ready be aware of this. Lol
True but most people don't read the owners manual. I'd go as far as to bet they lose the manual and never see it again. LOL
@@GettingItDoneRepairs Then they shouldn't own a saw.
cool I had no idea
You're not alone
