Think you will find they assembled a type of Wellington. Those hangers were used for the training squadrons the huge hanger further up was the factory. They assembled Hawker Hunter fighter jets postwar which required a longer runway which in turn shut the road from St Annes. I love what you do Jane
I think my Mum and Dad lived in a flat over the shops just as you get into Squires Gate Lane in 1946-1947 when Dad was supervising the building of the Blackpool Gas works.
