Matty should just write a book
They're ridiculously self aware, talented and humble. Great interviewer too!
The more I listen to Matt talk the more I like The 1975...
umpiowl2006 yess exactly, such a captivating man, incredibly intelligent
George looked so happy to be included in the band name story
I admire his intellectuality. The interview's turned into a discussion on aesthetics, and the meaning and thought behind everything they're doing as a band rather than just the face-value and action every "idiot" fan would like to hear about. I adore this band so much for their in-depth discussion, analysis, and interpretation behind everything ambiguous that they themselves may be doing as artists.
I am so impressed by their level of understanding music and what it should really be. They are true artists.
7:08 - 7:13 . Okay Matty touching the window like that was really really cute !
Camille B I thought I was the only one who noticed. Its rly adorable how he was so distracted.
+Camille B I was laughing my a$$ off about that and had to go through the comments to see if anyone else had noticed haha
YEEESSS!! How adorable. I had to rewatch it and paused so I could come see if anything was being said :o)
I know absolutely nothing about this band, but this mathew is a genius and a real artist. I just want to listen the things he say all day, he's so wise.
+Flourescent Adolescent GOD I love your name!
Rushati Mukherjee thank you :)
I like his explanation of their look juxtaposing their sound. When you look at what they wear, how they wear their hair, and even their lyrical content you'd expect them to be proper grungey and down-and-out. but they're actually really relatable lads, and they're music is really feel good and upbeat
Well, they are relatable lads but with a grunge style.
He has a beautiful mind.
if he was in Mallorca, maybe the owner of the book was actually Spanish and that's why he used 'the' that way. In Spanish, the date it's written like that (1st of June of 1975 is 1 de junio de 1975)
Loved this interview, really unique topics. I have to say, this band is one of the most intelligent I have seen in a long time. They approach their music as such an art, and put a lot of thought into it, I love it.
it is so incredibly refreshing to hear someone really know what they're talking about. its so often where i just hear artists talking a bunch of bullshit that doesnt make much sense, but matty is speaking really fluidly and with such colourful words and its really wonderful and rare to listen to.
I live for their in-depth discussions and seeing just how passionate and knowledgable they are- it's truly inspirational.
this was a good interviewer, he asked different kind of questions
He has an awesome personality and way of thinking
I love the way this band talks about their music. They bleed passion and that is what makes The 1975 such an amazing band. That is why they will continue to steal the ears of thousands of people all over the world.
yes
If i had a dollar for every time Matty said
Black American Music
Michael Jackson
ASAP Rocky
i'd be as rich as him lol
Love this band!
Jonathan Webb
how could i forget that famous line
i like how matty just stokes the window at 7:09 haha
so when matty said “we don’t tell people anything” my first thought was of how odd it was that their music *speaks* to me on such a deep level though he IS right that it doesn’t say anything in itself. it’s hard to comprehend how that works,, i suppose it’s like the quote “silence speaks louder than words”
11:15 thanks for the reminder that I should be studying dude. haha
"pavlovian reaction" Matty though :D Love it!
me too Matty @2:39...this whole bit of the interview really
imagine that person who actually owned the book and is behind their name !!
THEY TALK ABOUT A BOOK AND I'M IN IT
watching this in 2020... hits diff
That lip bite was nice xD
1:19 matty and george cutie patootie like a kid. hahaha!
4:33 talks abt the name of the band
Imagine how now maybe the owner of that book is thinking Like: "wow damn they found it and named their fucking band after it? I cannot believe!" Lucky...
The size comparison of Matty & George... George is a fucking tree compared to Matty.
+Keri Hawkins Groot!
TREE MAN
"I'ma big boi"
Back when the fame hadn't gone to Matty's head yet.
10:20
"We want quite a strict door policy on our band, we don't want idiots getting in."
"Not that we'll ever try to enforce that! THE COOL POLICE!"
lol let's make this happen can i be the chief superintendent pls?
