A basket is by far the best was to carry stuff on a bike. I usually put a couple cargonets on mine that just stay with them all the time. With that setup youre always ready to carry almost anything.
Brother, this is a great wee breakdown of an item and please def do more like this! The Builds are one thing, but knowing "why" a certain part/brand is interesting.
I love the Charge Spoon, 2 of the 3 bikes have spoons. But to be honest there isn't much to say about a well-priced Saddle that has plenty of style options
I like how they give you better options for mounting the lower part with the two hole bracket at the end. Most of the front racks/baskets I have used only have the bigger hole for nutted axles.
STX brake pads I just noticed on my bike has the front and rear.. and they aren't on the corresponding front or rear. OEM 96 Rocky Mountain. I don't think I want to correct it. I just fitted a rear rack last night and switched to a more winter suitable Michelin Country & Rock 26x1.75.
Damn you! I didn’t have to install a heavy and expensive Pelago rack. They are an excellent rack for classic mountain bike forks if you get a chance to review!
Well I gotta say...The basket itself seems to be a more robust/heavier gauge than Wald. The mounting system seems a bit simpler, more straight forward. Wald hasn't changed since the Jurassic because they just plain work. Even so, it might be time to step up. This is competition.
I should have asked this on the original build video. How well do the front canti brakes work? I've always subscribed to the 90 degree method of the straddle cable but as is the case with this build it wouldn't work. I'm always open to new ideas since I'm just a 'backyard mechanic'.
Drill a hole in the mounting bracket, add a brake adjusting screw, run full length cable housing to the bracket, install the canti triangle underneath it if high enough. With this mounting bracket maybe not possible because of the ~45° angle
The bigger the angle is the more braking power in the brakes so for example 120° would give more stoppingpower then 90° wich is also why on a lot of canti brakes the part where the cable mounts pokes out quitte a bit to the side wich naturally increases the angle
is it not bad for handling/steering if there is a heavy load in front....i thought rear racks/panniers/baskets are better...and front tray is just becoming a fad...im not an expert, its just my thought 😁
Totally waiting for your dissertation on why the Charge Spoon is the best saddle
Perfect for buying baguettes in bulk. ❤️
Bought my first charge spoon my first restomod build thanks to your channel :)

That last bike was just right in my wheelhouse. I like your channel, and lovin all you do .. cheers meng!
Ooh.. just what I've been looking for. Haven't heard of Manivelle before, so, many thanks for that. :)
I‘ve got that basket too. It has really good quality. ❤
I quite like your musical selections in your videos. This one in particular is brilliant. Cheers.

Adjustable legs are a nice touch.
I saw Queens in September here in Indianapolis, such a sick show. Salute!
And we rode our bikes to the show.
I would love to hear about the Charge Spoon! You have me wanting one just because you put it on every build.
I'm going to see QOTSA next Wednesday. Exciteeed!
I have Nitto/Wald on my old Stumpjumper, looking for basket set up for old Bridgestone. This is sold out😢. I’ll keep checking. Thanks.

I would buy tickets for your show at the O2 Arena. You on stage, building a bike and QOTSA as the opening act 🤟😉
Hey do you think you could do a video on read cassettes and how big or what kinds are compatible with the retro stuff?
Congrats on the 10k, i went to see QOTSA in Rockhal which hosts 6500 people, couldn’t use that for a meetup now.

I have the 137 or 139 (but bigger one) on my 93 Bridgestone MB-3. Pretty great. I wonder how it holds up as well as it does.
Very nice bike (and basket) 👍
Id like video on how to fit a Detchable front Basket thanks for your videos
Speaking of curling the 'stache out again, what wax do you use, I'm not finding a good one. Too hard, too soft...
Great video. Need to make a nice rack sticker 👍
Well this is a genius idea 💡 😂😂

Did you have to get a longer straddle cable for the front canties?
I did. Completely forgot to mention that. Usually I’d drill the bracket but as it was very nice and new couldn’t bring myself to it haha
@@2NDLIFEBIKESyeah I think that was the right thing to do. Nice basket that, I like the extending lower stays… 👏
Cool fork! where did you buy it ?
Please review their bag! Im so interested in that bag :)
Where did you get those mudguards? Very nice bike - like usual 😊
Cheers!! The mudguards are SKS
@@2NDLIFEBIKES great thank you! :)
