    I have an SC3. I can touch the steam 6cm from the nozzle and feel nothing but a wet vapour, not bacteria-killing hot steam. It can't be that hot at the nozzle point but of course, I am not going to touch it because I might not be able to type this review afterwards. It has worked to remove the black mould in my bathroom when I use it with the bristle nozzle. When I "clean" the wall and floor tiles with the fabric attachment I think I am just sloshing around the existing dirt helped by a visually-pleasing vapour tricking the mind that I am actually steaming the floor. It works at some levels of use and doesn't at other levels - the bristle nozzle being the most effective and the cloth attachment being the most comedic. So what I do is spray some bacteria-killing chemicals and then slosh around with the cloth attachment, obtaining the double pleasure of knowing that I am killing the bacteria with chemicals and seeing the vapour rising, thus feeling environmental-friendly. It also impresses my wife that I am so adept and efficient in doing my chores while looking important, i.e. not on my knees scrubbing but using a handsome looking tool to get the job done.

    • @PPMsTV
      @PPMsTV  4 роки тому +3

      You get triple points for being simultaneously environmentally friendly, looking important and keeping your wife happy. Marvellous job!

    Mine is called little Yella . It's exactly he same just modernised. Had mine around 20 years. Got it out to defrost the freezer and after it sitting for a long time she went to work immediately. So you can't imagine my excitement. Also great for cleaning out the tracks of sliding doors and windows . Only set back is the sound . I have hearing aids and it almost deafened me. Decided to clean without my hearing aids. Happy as a pig in mud she still works like a beauty after so long. Oh don't like the floor cleaner found it leaks while standing. So I just used the little brush for the grout and spin mop to finish the tiles off. Also have the Karcher window cleaner , miracle machine that one.

    Hi, I have an inferior model (sc 2) but i am in love with it. Oh a trick for the carpet cleaning or other surfaces is just knowing that at the very start when you use it, it will throw some water (just the vapour condensed on the hose), so trow the first 2 seconds on the sink and then you wont wet or puddle anything. I clean my carpet with it and it doesn't wet, just a little bit humid for 1 or 2 hour. :)

    I feel the SC3 has not been given enough credit in this video, yet I do feel the supplier has (not naming them). I have recently purchased a SC3 from Karcher given it was the best price out there £132 purchased 1st Nov 2021, I did research lots of steam cleaners and found the SC3 ideal for myself.

      I was reviewing both the machine AND the supplier, who provided me with the machine, which is why both were featured in my video.

    Dupray home cleaner are the best for steaming everything .. bit pricey but well worth the money

    • @leannemo7382
      @leannemo7382 4 роки тому +1

      Actually, I found this model (as updated 2020 version) exceeded the Dupray. Perhaps it's the 44 PSI (@ 1450 watt) and the water temp of 206.6 F (97 C), but something made a difference.

  • @mahanpathak24
    @mahanpathak24 7 років тому +2

    These mops need to increase the temperature of the steam by pressurizing it a bit more. A really hot steam might be able to do the job better.

    • @leannemo7382
      @leannemo7382 4 роки тому +4

      This model (in 2020) uses *44 PSI* reservoir pressure (@ 1450 watt), which is more powerful than most non-commercial steamers. For comparison, most tires require about 35 PSI of air, so that's a decent amount of pressure for home usage...unless someone wants to peel off any paint on walls or baseboards.😉 Also, the water heats to *206.6 F (97 C).* Both pressure and temp blow away the Shark and Eureka models, and most home versions made in China. The Kärcher is made by a reputable steam-cleaning company in Germany. In the US, they're known to have cleaned Mt. Rushmore & Space Needle. I know you posted 2 years ago, but thought I'd post this comment in the event it helps someone determine what model is best for their needs. Cheers!

      To be fair, her demo doesn't do the steamer justice for some reason -- lighting, tile, & technique choices are likely to blame. The SC3 model, which has been updated since this 2015 video, uses *44 PSI reservoir pressure (@ 1450 watt).* The water is also heated to an effective temperature of *206.6 F (97 C).* Both its pressure and temp exceed most home versions. It took me nearly 8 years to find a model that would work so well for home usage. 😀

    I just received mine from Costco and my first impression out of the box was that it is a very cheap plastic piece of equipment, and when I tried it out my first impression was 100% correct. Even after I scrubbed and scrubbed it still left grime, and plenty of it. One of the very cheap wheels wouldn’t turn and just dragged on the floor. My feeling is this machine may be ok if the things you’re cleaning are already 90% clean, this may make the remaining easy to clean, but so will a damp rag with bit of cleanser. In fact, you actually will save a lot of time cleaning manually, when you consider having to take this out, filling it with water, waiting for it to steam, scrubbing, then taking it apart, draining the water and putting it away. It’s just easier to take out a rag. I got it on sale $30 off for $169, but isn’t worth more than $50. A huge disappointment.

      It's not recommended since the canister uses a special water filter to remove minerals and such. The pure steam (from hot water) kills/disables 99.9% of all germs and viruses, including Covid-19. So adding a disinfectant would be a waste of money/effort and unnecessarily exposes you to chemicals. I'm immune-compromised, so steam cleaners are considered the *best* disinfectant for most surfaces in the home. I use steam on our upholstery furniture and mattresses since it kills bacteria which also causes odors, as well as killing dust mites. Steam also kills bedbugs and their eggs, so after certain travel and hotel stays, we steam many things that can't be washed & dried in a machine. Otherwise, I use disinfecting spray or wipes for the things that I can't steam or wash thoroughly, like incoming mail/packages or the outside of grocery and product containers. I hope I was able to help. 😀

      The steam from a hot tap is more powerful than this load of rubbish.

    The whole thing looks really poor quality, thin plastic and wouldn't last 5 minutes! Good job I looked at some reviews before clicking the buy button!

      Fortunately we no longer have that old hob which we inherited!
      I use it mainly for cleaning my floors these days which it's great for.
