Brian, in the last 2 years or so, I went back to basics, to learn all of the basics that I skipped over when I first started.
I have played for 35 yrs and much of that was in cover bands....A few years ago, I realized that my solos all sounded the same, and since im not getting younger, I wanted to realize the skills that I set out to achieve when I started, so I learned the major scale in entirety, the remaining pentatonic shapes and how to connect them, and the caged system . once I put that knowledge into practice, the modes became crystal clear all on their own.
I used many you tube tutorials on all subjects, and many are good, but your videos are so well explained that I am now to a point that I can watch any theory video and know what they are trying to convey right away. You are the best teacher for anyone who wants to get past the intermediate rut by far.

After messing around with guitar a bit in my younger years I got serious a year ago at age 57. I discovered Brian about 6 months ago and with his method of teaching the circle of fifths and chord tone targeting it’s really coming together for me and having serious fun !
There are some really great teachers out there but you rule ! Appreciate the lessons. You were made to teach people how to play this wonderful instrument!

that feel thing was awesome. I think that anyone can develop feel to a degree just by closing their eyes and listening to the intent of what they are hearing, and trying to capture that intent when they play

Wow wow wow, you're a legend. You just engineered the best guitar lesson on Gilmore ever. Targeting 5th!

Brian you're taking your teaching to a whole new level. It's great to be along for the ride. You may just have given me the treatment for my "Stone Ear" better known as lack of feel. All I can say is Wow and thank you for this Gem of a lesson.

Everyone talks about the V-I resolves soooo nicely but nobody says why. The 3rd note of the V chord is a half step from the root of the I chord.
I love these videos on applied theory! As theory nerd, this stuff is music pr0n. This stuff really inspires me to take the knowledge and reverse engineer other songs.
Awesome video as always, thank you, Brian!

Luther Allison 🎸 is another example of a great feel. If you love blues, ballads and country you have FEEL‼️I believe that you BK have both feel and craftsmanship technique.

Your little cartoon interlude was very funny and engaging. I can't explain why. Maybe it was just the "feel" of it.

Thank you very much for such precious lesson. It is very encouraging for me that I almost give up due to frustation. It makes the melodious solo easier since I will have more flexibility.
If I may suggest something, please play a solo at the beginning of your lesson so that new visitors to your channel will stay a little bit longger, and you have a better chance to capture their attention. I believe a lot of learners would not like to stay longger when thay think it is too much of theory. Playing solo at the beginning will show new comers that it is worth listening to your lesson. Though theory will make our creative process simpler but it is scarry for most people.
Another thing that make your lesson stick longger in our memory is before ending the lesson you make a very quick summary of what you have told during the kesson as a closing statement: to have good solo 1 .... 2 ..... 3 ..... 4 .... . I am sorry for suggesting this , but that what I did when I was working as instructor. 😀
    Cheers from Indonesia.

Gilmour is my favourite guitarist and this is probably the best lesson on soloing I think I have ever seen. Superb analysis of this great solo and so much for guitar players to learn from how you explain what’s happening within the solo!

Has a lot to do with emotion and spacing of those chord movements. My father was a jazz muso, and always said it's not what you play it's what you don't play. Regards from Australia 👍

You don't need anything else other than an Interface (check out the Focusrite) and the software. You'll also want to get monitoring speakers too, unless you just want to use headphones. But that's all you need!
