I think what's really impressive about Mortimer is that there's a certain degree of physicality in his performance that you don't get from most other magicians. A lot of performers are very big and showy with their movements, but Mortimer is more focused and elegant in his physicality. He's said before that a lot of his inspiration comes from vaudeville and silent picture performers, and I think a lot of that shows through in his mannerisms and the way that he physically navigates the space. Charlie Chaplin, for instance, was a helluva athlete and used that sense of athleticism and precision to be very funny. A lot of Mortimer's performances remind me of the physicality of Chaplin with the facial work of someone like a Pop Haydn and a sense of storytelling like Copperfield had in the mid-90s. Overall a really impressive performance, both for the illusion work and the physical work.

But the one thing I miss in todays magic and illusions are the story telling. Your way of telling a story is compelling, interesting and even mesmerizing. Oh and I love your music choice. You good sir got a new fan right here.
Wonderful! A ton of practise, a lot of dance lessons, hours of thinking and so on.. Which means that there is a lot of work in this. I have seen a lot of magic shows...But Xavier Is just on another level. I just wish he went on a world tour with his show!
