Original music by Xavier Mortimer and Maxime Rodriguez.
He seems like such a nice person and the act was truly memorising. beautiful work. this man is going places
Catch his show in Vegas if you can. He does this in the show and you’re right up close, can’t see how it’s done at all!!
I must be missing something here, why does it look like Xavier is standing in a doorway with parts on either side of him blocked from view? Starting at 1:42 you can plainly see that only a narrow swath of him is visible.
It's because of the spotlight.
Xavier. This is the best magic trick I have ever seen. I saw it first at Magic live and I have told all my friends to watch it. Fantastic magic
You know it’s refreshing seeing a fool us comment thread that is just filled with flowers to creativity and art.
The best levitation I've seen, and one I actually didn't care about finding how, it was just so beautiful
Great music too
Hey Xavier, I don't know if you'll see this comment. My husband and I went to see your magical dream show tonight (April 15th/2017) at planet hollywood and we had a wonderful time. My husband told you that he seen two of your performances on Penn & Teller's Fool Us and you asked him if he was into magic himself. He felt bad not having time to properly answer you but he wanted to be respectful to other people that wanted to get their picture taken with you. He just wanted to let you know that even he has no interest in performing magic, he has always enjoyed magic as young as he can remember as have I. I sincerely hope you get a third try with regards to trying to fool Penn & Teller and your performance is a perfect blend of comedy and magic with a nice touch of ambient surrealism to it. I wish you nothing but the greatest of success.
Xavier I met you yesterday after your incredibly wonderful and super creative Vegas show at Bally’s. I was praising you about stuff but forgot to mention: THIS part of your show which can be seen in Vegas right up close in your theater at Bally’s: JUST INCREDIBLE!!! Stunning!
Thanks for coming to the show! I’m so glad you enjoyed it
Xavier Mortimer your creative mind seems unstoppable! A pure explosion of creativity during the performance. Can’t wait to see what you will bring to the world over the course of coming years. Keep up the great music and magic, ideas and dreams!!
Absolutely beautiful trick. One of the best levitation tricks I've seen. The story and the actual levitation are brilliant. Teller looks so annoyed that he got it. How do you think up some of your tricks? Both this routine and what you did for The Next Great Magician were extraordianary
Magician: This took me two years to figure out how to do.
Teller: Ok, give me two minutes and I'll tell you how you did it.
It's not necessarily two years to figure out how. It's two years to take it from a concept to a fully fleshed out act: create the story, engineer the props, practice it over and over til you can do it smoothly and know everything works, polish the production value for whatever stage you happen to be on (staging, lighting, queues, etc). The idea is just an epiphany that comes on all of the sudden. Teller's job is relatively easy: sift through his library of known ways to do something, then intuit what other options remain and make a really educated guess.
@@kma3647 Thanks, Captain Obvious. You must be a blast at comedy shows.

@@marcochimio Your own comment was just as obvious as K MA's response to it. But your re-response demonstrates that you are actually a jerk.
@@olensoifer9901 Way to miss the point ... TWICE. (Now, it's your turn to say something ridiculously oblivious again and make it THREE. I'll wait.)
*It's disappointing that he didn't show some of his other amazing tricks that he performs everywhere like the lemon come to life, nicking things through glass etc* ...
Him: "I want to be silly, funny or beautiful"
Me: well mission accomplished you are so handsome!!!
Congratulations on a superb performance, if you're ever performing in Australia, please announce it so I can see your show!
I think part of the tell is that he's swinging the rope backwards from the "norm" which makes it easier to do a small release around the pivot points of the support mechanism. You can see his hands make a slight non jump-ropey movement at the same point in the rotation. How he hides it is a combination of lighting and camera angles, as well as something else that I have no clue.
Hi Xavier I saw your show in Vegas a couple months ago I was one of the little girls that came up to you and hugged you a few times after the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Nala Kitty! Thank you for coming :) Hope to see you back!
@@xavier_mortimer Nalla Kutty in Malayalam , a language spoken in Kerala a southern state of India means "Good Girl/Child" ✨❣️
I've seen you do the Ombre Orchestre at my hometown a few years ago, this is simply amazing!
Beautiful work, you combine my love of theatre, early film, pantomime and magic! A man after my own heart. A true artist.
You are a fantastic performer. Loved this ORIGINAL levitation act. (totally mystified me, but to me it's the story and presentation that make it so memorable)
Thankyou very much! Storytelling is a very important part to me when it comes to performing!
That was cool! It was as she said, "beautiful". You fooled me, but it was even more entertaining. You get my respect by being honest with them. Thank you.
This guy is also on the next great magician
A very clever and impressive effect that unfortunately was let down by overly 'conservative' lighting that didn't show his hands. I suspect that Xavier was concerned that lighting that showed the hands might have been too revealing to P&T and so reduce the chance of an FU trophy. Or perhaps Xavier didn't have sufficient time/opportunity to optimize the best lighting that would allow showing the hands while not revealing the method. Regardless, congrats on developing a really innovative new effect. Well done!
you can see his arms are cut off by the two mirror screens he has on his sides. Before he even starts the trick. He didnt position himself right and you see his arms cut off and tehn you can make out the mirrors. He is just behind two panels which show in the middle where his body is, and some mechanism is lifting and turning him, its dead obvious.
Sir how to possible it
everyone people's learning and practice then possible or not
Please, share that piece of music on soundcloud or somewhere, it is too amazing to not be listened by people.
Oh and of course, absolutely beautiful and amazing performance!
4:46 He's French so it's ok Penn! 😂😂😂
Magical pure magic
Only thing I can think is that whatever is holding you is coming in from the sides and connects to your elbows rather than your body.
But I don't quite know how the mechanics of that could work.
Fantastic trick though. You are One of my favorites on this show.
I think so, too. The lighting was very key.
So why did the lights go black after he supposedly starting flying?
Amazing
He had fairies lift him
So.... A jetpack?
Where did your arms go? They disappeared too!
I love you xavier
how?????????
Grrrreat!!
Better than most of the tricks that actually fooled P&T
i love what you do. I'm dispointed you didn't create more of a scenario and acting for this one, most of the magic comes from your character, not here. Even if the trick is unique.
This piece is from my Vegas show which is based on a story line which is why it didn’t make sense on penn and teller
@@xavier_mortimer ok thank you for your answer. Keep creating beautyfull things.
I suggest EVERYONE that loves “wonder” magic, or performances that make you smile, cry, or laugh- check out the rest of Cacier Mortimer’s performances on youtube. He does one in front of a white fold-out shadow wall on “Next Great Magician” show- the thumbnail image is some shadows with XAVIER-UPSIDE DOWN. Just amazing. I look fwd to this man getting older, wiser, and telling more stories. I just can’t wait for him to have a full show in Vegas someday that’s a mix of Alice in Wonderland meets Jumanji meets The Pagemaster (yes Mackullay Culkin)
very very nice xavier very very beatifull
Whats the song called or where can I listen to it??
Song is called "jump rope "off of Xavier's album
Actually thought was a troll, until i went to google it. And its literally an album from Xavier Mortimer and Maxime Rodriguez. Theres no full version of the song sadly.
Okay , how's it done please ?
Wires
so so so fake
I really like the song. Is there any way I can listen to it??
Sorry for the very late reply! Yes, it’s available on the Magical Dream soundtrack on iTunes !
Knowing there's no trick, Penn and Teller are a little freaked out.
The note probably said :
You're a wizard
Nah, Penn and Teller figured it out he drew it on the note pad that’s why xavier said “he’s right”.. Even i know how it’s done.
@@maximumpowertrain1433 well give us all a hint then
@@maximumpowertrain1433 so you know nothing jon snow??
He was clearly levitating, there is no logical mechanism contraption that he could have use to do his magic except that he was being assisted by unseen forces - or demons!
ehh no..
Definitely not. It's an illusion. Pretty sure if someone could actually fly or levitate they'd be strapped down in a science lab. It's physically impossible.
No I'm pretty sure it's demons
@@athan5019 i very seriously hope you are trolling or being sarcastic.. if not you need to seek some help, cause you are seriously messed up.
@@ewenyap3018 Don't piss off the Devil!!! He likes magic too.
Hail Satan!!

I love you 😘❤️♥️
He fool many people
I figured it out. Amazing jump rope technique.
How did he do it?
The g force created by the rope reduces his weight on earth so he rises.
Great challenge, I may or may not have figured it out. Magnets, just kidding ;)
I met xiaver before
Me too!!!
Dude. This looked cheesy at first but then I saw the wrope going all the way around.
But- I’m thinking that the narrow band of spot light on him somehow aided a projection map of the rope outside of the device lifting him up.
The stage was not lit up I saw the wire
He looks like amir khan
He is like Hrithik Roshan ❤️👍👍👍 in koi mil gya 😂😂😂
Needs more refinement. Just a little more polish to make it look better. The camera work kinda ruined the experience.
Kartos brothers
I don't do tricks
It's not magic , He is using telekinesis .
The fact that it was so dark to where you couldn't see the wires makes this trick suck. You could have done it in the light.
I did it in the light. The video is on my channel.
Xavier Mortimer Okay so I seen it, but I’m just curious. Were there any camera tricks to conceal the wires? Or can you perform this live?
@@beerviews1143 Come see my show in Vegas. I do this every day in front of a live audience.
Umm, how was that trick supposed to fool them?? Obviously, he has something blocking his hands and someone else is doing the rope.
Lori Wolfcat not true. I am the one holding the rope. You can see this act for yourself at my show in Vegas :)
Lori Wolfcat saw this yesterday. The show in Vegas is in a fairly intimate theater, also I was in 2nd row. That close I could not tell how it was done. Fooled me totally. This clip does not do it justice and is darkly lit. Not so in Vegas.
Yep at beginning and end when he comes down if you pay attention to his hands you can totally see it. Lol.
@@ashlies7066 it doesn't kinda look so, but even so I still can't imagine fully how they would do it
Mutants
Believe I know how this trick was done!
i dont Believe YOU! know how this trick is done!one!tow!three!
Can you tell me?
Does anyone have an idea why the fuck does Alyson keep wearing the same clothes in every single episode I have watched ?
So they can put acts from different tapings on the same episode, without any indication that they're different tapings.
Or that could be her only clean outfit.
why does nobody comment on Penn and Teller wearing the same suit?
advertise,,,commercial 15 seconds? dati wala nmang commercia!l,,,,wala n kyo sa tv! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,nsa you tube na kyo! ,,,ginawan nyo pa ng commercial!!!!hindi pa ma skip ng mabilisan hihintayin m pang matapos,,,tang ina
Alyson needs to not present again and stick to acting.
If there is nothing touching him to make this trick work my only other idea is magnets.
No magnets :)
Look at 143ish and when he comes down & pay attention to his hands looks like he steps into a box. Can see him step in & out a box in beginning & end with black background behind him & paying attn to hands in this video makes you see it.
He would have to sneak the box out at the end tho
The rope doesn't appear to actually be around him.
Amazing
