George Miller's Original Mad Max Trilogy

- George Miller's original Mad Max trilogy is a dystopian hellscape that brought us miles of sandy wastelands, high octane action, black leather, and of course the incredible work of Mel Gibson and the cast that brought these movies to life. Mad Max, The Road Warrior, and Beyond Thunderdome are (for better or worse) films that are firmly planted in the pop culture zeitgeist and today, we're going to talk all about them.

One of the greatest franchises of EVER! 🤟🙌 🤟 Thanks for letting me know about the origin of the dog too! I had no idea and makes that my favorite piece of trivia there. 😬
Are you prepared for such a drastic change of life style
you say "yeah" I don't believe you, look at your home
the things that you own, the job that you work in
they all could go
what about the tax exiles who live in the sun
when the oil runs out, they'll have no-where to run
And what about the comfortable people who just cant go without
they're forever panic buying, in case things run out
they never realise what they've got, one day they will lose the lot because....
Chorus:
What gonna happen when cycling becomes a strain
and you need a drop of 3 in 1 on your bicycle chain
what are you gonna do,
what are you gonna do
when the oil runs out.
Are you prepared for such a drastic change in life style
you say "yeah" I don't believe you, look at your home
the things that you own, the job that you work in
they all could go.
Hollywood needs people like George Miller more than ever
I found a video cassette on eBay of The Road Warrior with Aussie dialogue. Watched it many times. It was one of my most prized tapes. Now I can watch it in Dolby
"The Ayatollah Of Rock-&-Rolla!!!" What a great line. 😂
and a good album by Judas Priest...Rocka Rolla? also the song is cool too!
Mad Max III is severly underrated.
Maybe.....but it's still the worst in the series.
First half is excellent, second half seems like they hired a different writer.
Mad Max Trilogy > Fast And Furious Series
At least Fast And Furious has family.
@@alienboy1322 The Fast and Furious movies are TERRIBLE. I cannot respect someone who likes those films.
@@jeffcarlin5866
Then that's half the general public, I guess.
@@alienboy1322 You are correct. I feel the same about Friends -- the sitcom. I cannot respect someone who thinks that that show is funny.

That's exactly how I feel about politics nowadays.
lol, the countryside around Melbourne is NOT the outback. But MM2 was made in my home town, Broken Hill, which IS. 🤓
I just watched the first 4 flims this week for the first time .. i have become a instant fan ... can't believe i didnt see Fury Road in theaters ... Mad Max franchise is one of the best in cinema history ... Im mad Furiosa bombed ... pray we get more entries in the Mad Max universe
''The Road Warrior'' - one of top 5 dystopian movies of all times (if not even No1)
Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Johnny the Boy was Nightrider's son, and Toecutter - being Nightrider's best friend - took Johhny the Boy under his wing to teach him the ropes. There's even scene where Bubba Zanetti tells Toecutter that Johnny will never be the Nightrider.
7:09 That's an XA Falcon, not an XB.
The black Pursuit Special is the XB.
I love mad max
"Who run Barter Town?"
MASA!!!!
MASTER BLASTER!!
I could be wrong but I think the reference to 'The Dark One' is when the old lady tells Max that he's gone walkabout, not the Goose car accident story.
South New Wales is catchy.
dying times here
Another one of these channels that just reads out the Trivia page of the IMDB.

What is it about these older movies that punch so much above their 'budget'(weight)? I look at this and Star Wars and these films where budget was an issue, they seem to all come up with a creative fix that cost little to no money.
It's like these new films don't have the same feel of a 'soul' to them. Music seems to be missing this ingredient or at least it's the word I've chosen to describe what I'm witnessing.
It's almost like when the stunts are more realistic and were actually filmed and performed vs just a green screen sequence or fully CGI? I'm asking questions because I don't really know the answer but it seems as if the CGI takes away our ability to connect to the action and seems phony or something?
Maybe these things are just my personal preference to an action sequence. Personally I prefer somewhat realistic looking fight or chase scenes and don't really enjoy the big jumps that aren't realistic at all but more like the scenes I can see is real and I'm not taken out of the realism with poor CGI.
I personally think the movies since about 2000 they rely on CGI so much and don't seem to want to get to the story and flush it out so we aren't left with 20 questions about the plot, backstory and universe source material if there's any the audience is aware of.
Maybe I'm just old and like to complain but these older versions stand the test of time vs the Fury Road and newer efforts.
His house on the beach was not an abandoned farmhouse. It's a well known beach house that was never a farm.
"The vermin have inherited the EARTH."
I loved A Boy and His Dog. FYI.
it's a good movie....
👍👍👍🎥
you should remind people to check out the merch store like 18 more times. I nearly didn't since you only said it 34 times
Go get you some.
Indeed
Don't come at "Back To The Future 3" like that. BTTF3 is amazing and a brilliant end to the trilogy.
Oh oh oh dont forget the game, its canon, geroge miller said so
Even though he had nothing to do with it and only said so because it saved him the effort of writing some back stories.
Find the channel The MAD MAX bible..
I will never understand the hate for Thunderdome.
They should just bring Mel back and finish the series with one great movie
Damn right.
LOL
Its new south Wales, not south new wales
Crazy how the first movie cost a couple hundred thousand and looks lightyears better than the green screen filled 168 mill furiosa
Beyond Thunderdome is the worst Mad Max film.
For sure.....Thats when Hollywood got its hand on it.....
@@Rhythmattica First 45 minutes are great but it just tanks after that. Like 2 movies spliced together which I suspect it was.
I agree with all that was said, also, wasn’t a fan of the ending.
But hey, the trilogy curse is a bitch.
Furiosa:MMS was slightly worse.
@@mc1993 Not a Mad Max movie
Oldman max is the film i want to see ..not the furiosa crap
They turned to shit after the second film.
Great trilogy 3rd movie is the weakest but still good
Mad Max 👍
Mad Mel 👎
Why do you talk like that? It's real annoying
Mad Max 3 is still better than the modern Mad Max movies.
*points at comment- That's bait.
@@joshmciver4847 😂 true. Not better than MM4 but IDK, I watched all four before seeing Furiosa in theater. MM3 is better than F:MMS
‘Fury Road’ is light years better than the first ‘Mad Max’ film. The setting is far more intriguing.
the car action is fun but the first movie had way more going on....also it's just as the last of the old world falls apart and before chaos rules
fury road is another modern movie that was cool cus of the hype but has serious issues keeping it from claiming top honors in hindsight....
also I say hell fukking no to allowing the brand to kill Max in favor of another either by character assassination or by outright killing him ion movie, the brand is Mad max, not Angry Furiosa yeah? that plays a part on some of the dislike for many I think...
