I used to be a teaching assistant in his classes at his school. He was a very bright boy but loved hype lol. The way he speaks now - is how he was speaking then - able to speak clearly and articulately. He used to sing the most inappropriate Vybz Kartel songs lol but he would do it to get black teachers attention. i wonder if he remembers this. He says was a nerd but he weren't that nerdy. I did wonder where he would end up. I'm proud he survived because I thought he would end up in some really bad stuff - i.e. dead. Sorry to waffle on but last time I saw him he was a young boy so just to see how different he looks (of course) but I can still see the little boy. Proud he survived, I feel a sense of relief just seeing him alive. P.S. I agree. Schools are too quick to kick them out. The first secondary school he mentioned. SNM.
One of the first people I listened to in an interview and actually everything he says makes perfect sense you can learn from him and you see him as an actual decent person, he's not just saying what everyone expects and wants him to say or trying to act antisocial and bad when he is coming on an interview to talk. He knows what's actually going on and can represent himself in the way he wants to it's a proper interview.
Nah when man done the impression of your typical road man doing an interview ffs. Then my man was like you're sendin' shots, coz where he said "sticky one still". Loool
This is the perfect platform for A1 to finally get his story out, he's been blackballed for the longestt! Real ones remember him from the early drill years then he got deported to Germany feds were doing a madness, you'd only know if you was following him on insta, rate him cah he's put in alot of work just to get himself back to London & Also big up Bobby Kasanga for giving everyone a chance to tell their story 💯
The Metal bands were allowed to flourish for two main reasons - their culture could produce irreparable damage via alienation, depression, heavy drug use, satanist fantasy worlds, degeneracy AND all the energy generated would go into dark thoughts and internalised angst, no violence, no protests, no outward anger over social issues, no energy at all outside concerts.. The governments clearly allowed this to occur from the bands' inception (the LSD acid tests of the 1960s, DEA giving LSD production licenses to Californians living around the scene) to the very end (playing sold-out stadium shows in Washington DC, just minutes from the White House). As with all aspects of popular culture, you're not allowed to become famous by accident. You have to serve the cabal in some way, shape or form. The musicians may not be aware of this until the very end...or not at all. But the harmless girly fandom of Metal-dom were absolutely cultivated by the State - as a way to damage the health of the population they lived amongst. Just like Drill music..
The main issue with A1 is his mouth. He disses ppl too much & that makes them hate him even more. So he becomes a bigger target to his opps AND police. Now he's in a tough position in life where he's forced to succeed in music, or start his own business cah nobody will employ him with these charges. And in the meantime he probably still does illegal activity to make ends meet. His opps want him dead, and police want him locked away. He's probably 1 charge away from doing double digit time. It still all comes back to him having a big mouth. If he didn't, he'd probably be alongside Tion now instead of Russ.
Mad respect to A1 I can tell he been through a lot .He really underrated and misunderstood hope my man blows. Also I wish he was more consistent with the music ting . New plates don’t deep it he’s cold on the real rap ting , the drill ting and the trap ting .
Great interview! This guy has really surprised me, his intellect shines through so the saying " Don't judge a book by its cover" is the perfect quote when thinking about this interview. This guy needs to go back into education as he could be an amazing advocate for all young black males. He is extremely articulate and knowledgeable. I think that he could go into secondary schools and speak with ALL teenage males, he has an understanding of the roads as well as being extremely intelligent and having an understanding of the music industry, the good and the bad. He could really guide teenagers in a positive way. He is so relatable and the police need to step away from their negative ideology of him. I am not saying hes an angel but come on WHO IS? This guy really needs for somebody to support him. I am definitely going to check his music and try to get a better understanding of who he is as a person. .
A1 is an intelligent bloke and I agree with everything he said in this interview. I think if these guys are attempting to do music and are in the booths their not on the street getting into trouble, so give them a chance to make something of their music. Plan b's lyrics on his first album were so dark but he never got any bad publicity for the music he was making
Really enjoying this channel, started watching a few days ago and I’m running through these uploads man. The story of the 3 year old moving to England with vague memories of where they’re from, trying to make sense of their surrounding and fit in is toooo real! Wasn’t too many like that so you don’t know niggas who can relate like that besides brothers and sisters. Appreciate these videos, I nearly ended up on badness but I think I stopped before it got beyond school and I know some of the feelings that come about with moving, never thought it would have impacted me as much as it did but looking back I was an angry child. Glad I know peace now, hope everyone can get there.
Bobby this is crazy one of the best interviews I’ve seen you do in my opinion but up A1 I always heard his music never heard too much about him, my respect has gone up for him, hr deserves all the success frfr
When I first noticed this guy rapping, I thought he was just a knuckle head tryna be bad, but it seems that it's not always good to judge people and their actions because you just never know. I really liked his story and how he overcame the struggles, it really interested me.
Really good interview Bobby! A1 was very well spoken and had very interesting insights. My one piece of constructive criticism is that could you edit out bits like A1 checking on his phone/ the production team speaking to you guys. Getting rid of these bits make the interviews look even more professional and a better watching experience for the audience. But very good work, keep it up!
