I dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Makai Victor i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
3:35 no idea why use 1/2 stops? Because that is what many lenses do, eg my medium format Hasselblad CF and Fuji 6x9 lenses only have 1/2 stop differences for shutter. Typically only adjust shutter for landscape.
And do not forget the colour filters for black and white photography in three different strength: yellow, orange, red, blue and green. And all the 24 CC filters for daylight and tungstan colour film.
Hi Sekonic, Can L758DR be used for cinematography reading of ambient and continuous lights using the T priority mode and setting the fps to 24,25 etc ??
Good video. One important thing, the iso2 mode for filter compensation. I am using a big stopper which is 10 stops, the meter is only till 3 or 5 stops so not enough to use this function with a big stopper ND filter.
@@bthemedia I'm trying to figure out how to use the 758 for 10 stops as well. I don't quite understand your response.. what is CF1? Is there a way the demonic will do the 10 stops that isn't covered in this video? Thanks in advance.
Justin Piercy good point, I edited my note above (wrt CF1, I was referencing “custom function” CF from Canon terminology, though Sekonic calls theme Custom Setting CS). Getting 10 stop calculation (within limits) requires changing “cameras” on the L-758. *side note*: Do you see how to change the ISO range? So from ISO 100, you could scroll down 6 stops to 50 - 25 - 12 - 6 - 3. The lowest shutter speed it resolves is 30 M(in) for me - then errors with “E.u” (exposure under). Highest is 1/8000 - then errors with “E.o” (exposure over). So that’s the metering limit. We need -4 stops more to get 10 stops total adjustment, which in ISO2 button (f-comp) is a positive “4” (since negation is implied). Steps... 1) CS 1, set to 1 (f-comp) 2) Set ISO to 100 (camera 1) 3) Hold “ISO1” and press “MID.TONE” button to cycle through Cameras 1-3. Go to Camera 2, hold “ISO1” button and scroll to set ISO to 3 (-6 stops) 4) Hold “ISO2” button and scroll to set “4.0” compensation. 5) test light reading indoors: camera 1) ISO 100, f8, 1/4 camera 2) ISO 3, f8, 8s hold ISO2 button for f-comp) 2 min
Still popping back to these 10 years later to refresh.
Hope you are doing well, thanks Joe
Just bought my L758DR and this was a massive help - Thanks a lot Joe

Incredibly helpful, thanks very much.
Thanks for the vid.
Yes for large format photographers like myself, our lens apertures are in half stops
Isaac Martinez I
My Copal shutter (for large format lenses) has 1/3 markings for Aperture, Full stops for shutter speed.
so after switching option 17/2 now when in spot metering the memory button is under the eye piece ....correct?
Thanks so much for information all you video are big help us.
Show review of Sekonic L 858 D
Some old cameras only work in half stops. I guess that option is for those who use those cameras.
I have calibrated my 758. My problem is that my flash readings are way underexposed. Is there a different calibration for the flash?

Yes; it has an fps cine scale.
Thank you SOMUCH
