Came here to watch Karlaftis and walked out as a fan of Ruckert. He's a legit inline blocker.

Yeah at 7:22 that’s not holding, that’s him tearing Karlaftis UP 😂, sent him to the upper room.

Holy shit Ruckert played a hell of a game. They even had to throw a flag because he murdered Karlaftis on that play

I watched Oregon & now this. Petit-Frere at tackle has really impressed. Why is he considered a mid to late 2nd rounder? I know it’s not always pretty but he pretty much always takes guys out of the play and I like the way he projects to the league.
I understand the Michigan game was rough but everyone has a bad game. Derek Stingley got eviscerated by LSU and Florida but he’s still projected top 20.

He was also extremely rough against PSU. And there's no Hutchinson on that team. Petit-Frere is going to have an adjustment to NFL caliber power rushers.

This one game confuses me. Karlaftis looked exceptional in every single game but this one. And then in this game he looks slow and unpolished. I’m thinking it’s just a down game but it’s weird. Still easily a 1st round prospect though

The scheme definitely played apart plus the tackles played well. Gotta watch more

I don’t see it at all, outclassed by dudes considered lesser prospects brutal showing this tape alone makes him look like a day 2 pick regardless of the other games. Do you think the o lines in the NFL get easier than OSU?

He looked mediocre against Iowa as well

Ohio State’s scheme is designed to mess with defensive lineman’s heads. Everyone fell victim to this except Michigan who just fucked shit up

He doesn't look like a 1st round pick to me. Not with that on film. Maybe he was sick or something. Karlaftis had a couple plays in the run game and a couple pressures. Other than that he looked like he has no pass rush plan. He looked tired. There were plays that looked like he could have made a play if he hustles but he kinda just watched. He was washed out in the run game for the most part. Ohio State looks to have a good offensive line though.

Tough game for Karlaftis. Both Ohio St. OTs will likely be draft picks (#78 Petit-Frere is arguably my #1 LT in the draft). Also a TE like Ruckert who is a hell of a blocker. Add the blow out score and this just wasn’t the game.

The fact karlaftis is projected as a top 10 pick is insane. Looks like 70-100th pick

I think one of the things to consider here is that Karlaftis seemed to have a modest injury to the lower left side of his body. hard to tell exactly what, but when you look at him running, he struggles to bring his knee forward without compensatory movement from the abdominal muscles. he also favors his leg slightly when running, struggled to hit any sort of sprint. it is especially evident on the long touchdown at 1:14 that he is favoring his leg. later, he gets pushed from the right at the end of a play, and instead of planting with his left, he hops sideways so he can awkwardly catch himself with his right leg. Really important to sort out bad play due to injury from other games, unless it is a pattern of soft tissue injuries.

Karlaftis needs to start being looked at as a tweener before it’s too late, he looks to me like a mix between a 4-3 SDE and a 3-4 WDE. But not a clear fit for either one.

He was playing with that extra weight. He’s better at 265

After watching a half dozen games of Ohio State offense film my biggest takeaway is that Olave is extremely overrated. He's a body catcher that struggles to hang on through contact, and struggles mightily to create YAC. His production was merely a product of having two legit first round WR prospects around him to take the pressure away, and he's got a legit QB that could go top 5 next year throwing to him and had Fields of course before Stroud. Sure he runs decent routes and seems to make a play down the field most games, but he's not consistent at all for me. Saints are going to look awful in 3 years for making this trade to go up and get him, I wouldn't pick him before the 4th round. JSN was the best receiver on this roster and Wilson was by far the second best. Olave just doesn't have the IT factor.

Karlaftis got BODIED this game, as did the entire Purdue defense. They ran misdirection plays that made him wrong, and then he started second guessing his reads altogether. I also saw too many snaps where he's jogging in pursuit of a ball carrier. In the NFL you sprint to the ball or you don't play, it's that simple.

All you had to do was watch this tape and not draft him in the 1st. Too difficult for KC.

This game isn’t really that big of a deal. Ohio State was getting the ball out too quickly. The Oregon State game was more concerning for me. Although he may have been banged up in that game

Karlaftis looks absolutely horrible. Wouldn’t waste a top 100 pick on him. Can’t perform against college players at 275 lbs NO THANKS!!!
