Yes! Finally a combination of self-help and tawheedic perspective that I have been anticipating when reading good books like the Atomic Habits. Wallahi, this is so critical for me to set the boundary between self-worshipping and always believing, relying and trusting Allah SWT. Jazakumullah khayr kathiran Imam Tom and Yaqeen. You guys rock!
I wanted to reach my goal of doing one full push up. I made it a game, for every three knee pushups, I get 1% and hopefully by 100%, I'll reach my goal. I did notice changes on myself in my journey. The first day I could barely lift myself of the floor but now I could do 9 knee pushups in one go. My arms has also become firmer. I wanted to be an example that every small effort count so, don't give up. ❤ Update: I MADE IT! I did my first full body push up! Alhamdulillah!
00:06 - Habits are key to change and self-improvement. 01:18 - Persistence is key; change happens gradually, often unseen at first. 02:37 - Consistent 1% daily improvement leads to significant long-term progress. 03:46 - Initial setbacks in habits lead to eventual success through persistence. 04:54 - Change requires consistent effort over time, not immediate results. 05:58 - Focus on systems, not goals, for better results. 06:53 - Goals can limit happiness and hinder true potential. 07:51 - Success relies on effective systems and daily habits.
@Imam Tom: Salamu alaykum. I love the idea of taking a book and presenting it within the Islamic framework. I was reading a book called "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Made Simple: 10 strategies for managing anxiety, depression, anger, pain and worry" and subhanAllah I was AMAZED at how close it was to our religion and Allah's message in the Qur'an, albeit a secular version of it. Sheikh Ali Hammuda touched on the subject in his Dark & Light series, but I would love to see a more in-depth exploration of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Islamic lens. Please, please, please, but only if you're interested. Jazakallah khair.
Please do series like this. We can benefit so much from the ideas presented in these books as Muslims. Years ago, when there were not many kids Islamic books, we use to use regular pictures books to teach Islamic values to our kids. I believe the same can be done with adult books. And we a guided version like this it’ll be so much better.
Jazak Allah Kheir, looking forward to continuing this series. I love this book & as others have said, applying it with an Islamic perspective is even better.
System thinking. Dealing with endless loops. Why lots of strategies and plans don't work. Trusting Allah means trusting the Owner, Designer of all systems.
Everything is created in pairs according to the Quran. (Electrons and protons.) The movement of electrons around the nucleus is similar to planets orbiting the sun. The structure of the atom and the structure of the universe are governed by the same principles.
Great Take Alhamdulillah, Please continue these series on Book summaries through an Islamic POV. May Allah reward you all over at Yaqeen Institute and all that took their time to watch. Ameen🤲🏾

I don't like something about your speech. You said "The prophet s.a.w.s. said this as well", instead you should say "author is saying what prophet said". I know it may look like a small detail but believe me it is not. Anyways content was good and I appreciate the effort to make this video. I am looking forward into reading the book
@UsefulRevolution language and the way you phrase things is powerful and I understand what the brother was trying to insinuate. He could of put it better but what he said isn't without benefit.
Can Anybody provide reference to the hadith which hem mentioned in the end of video which was like Prophet saw said if the qayamah is happening and you have sapling in your hand plant that sapling ???
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "If the Final Hour comes while you have a shoot of a plant in your hands and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it."
Actually reading these books and getting too deep takes you away from your deen- I read it on the internet and when I thought about it, it actually does. But the way yaqeen brought it out is beautiful I was too deep into the tiniest of details I'd almost sidelined religion. We really need more self help book studied in context w Islam
