- HD video of the Bowes Railway, Springwell, Gateshead
The Bowes Railway, built by George Stephenson in 1826, is the world's only preserved operational standard gauge cable railway system. It was built to transport coal from Durham pits to boats on the River Tyne.
Great video :D btw what software do you use for your clips?
Great little railway, shame the winding rope engine works no more.
Great. pity the footplate crews backs though!
Hi Brittonian, is there an email I can possibly contact you on?
I am in my final year at the University of Sunderland studying Journalism, and would love to be able to use this video as curated content in my final year portfolio.
I am creating an informative piece on the most haunted locations in Tyne and Wear for publication on SR News. All credit would be given to you, and any other links you would like me to provide in the information.
Kindest Regards, Jessica Errington.
