Getting older ain’t for sissies, keep looking for the positive and being great.
As a quilter, it looks like those quilts are tied instead of quilted. That means those pieces of yarn are holding together the layers instead of thread sewn through. Those are such a lovely find!
I once found a shaving mug at a garage sale for a quarter……recognizes the mark as an old Haviland mark. Got home and looked up the mark which was used between 1870 and 1880….it was beautiful…sold it on eBay for $165 dollars to the One of the six founding members of The Haviland Collector’s Society and who was a professor at the University of Iowa. I was happy. Glad you always look at the marks. Drives me nuts that they cover the marks with tags…….grrrrrrr.

I too have disabilities too many to mention. I use a motorized wheelchair to get around but I’m mostly at home so I too look forward to watching fellow UA-camrs thrift shopping, antiquing and DIYing. I’m happy we have people like Dani sharing her journey.
I’m so sorry you are struggling. It’s OK to not be OK all the time! When I feel myself sinking I just tell myself ‘this too will pass’ and count my blessings also (and take a trip to thrift shop)!

Lately I’ve been dealing with some health issues that have kept me home I’m retired so that’s not the issue.
I love thrifting worked in it for 10 years in Ontario Canada
I went to value village I don’t shop there prices are very high my opinion but I walked around and picked up items and thought that’s made in Italy
Throughout all the hard goods I was able to recognize several things and who made them. It was so enjoyable I was proud of myself
I learned a lot just watching you. Then home to rest

I live in nc. I have 2 or 3 Value villages around me. I actually love that store! It can be hit or miss but usually reasonably priced. It’s like any other store, it all depends on the person pricing.

At 12:53 you were looking at pair of candle holders. I believe those are Princess House & you can use them in either direction. Stick candles go in that hole on one side & pillar candles go on the other side. I’ve had a set for over 30 years. They are 24% lead crystal.
I know life is not always sunshine and rainbows but just so you know you bring a lot of smiles and happiness to your viewers lives…. Chin up and know that God made a positive uplifting person in you!!!!
You are lucky to have a friend like Kari; we should all have one! Working an "attitude of gratitude" isn't natural to me as a worry wart, but my life is much better when I see the glass as half full. I have a little sign that says, "If you see your glass as half empty, pour it into a smaller glass and quit your bitching!" That Fendi purse is something: I had never seen one before!
Looking at life with a positive outlook makes things for so much easier. I’m grateful for all that I have and have had. I too have been blessed. Thrifting it my outlet to my depression. That Purse!!!! Wow! The small quilts, knitted and etc...... Many make them for lap covers. People give them a lot to nursing homes. Great video ❤️

That Rooster lamp ...I would put that with gingham. There was a lampshade there that probably went with it in a red check.
We all love the Spicy Mermaid. At 1:01:38 the two Baby Quilts are not quilted they are hand tied. The fabric pieces are either hand or machine pieced couldn't tell from the video, but they are still quite charming.

OMG Danni, I bought a purse similar to the one you did just last week, and I just ran out of the room and checked, I too have a FENDI purse. I paid 4 dollars for, the handle was the same, showing that wear, Im glad I didnt cover it with glitter glue.. I was going to use it, now Im not sure I will... its too precious... I also love the beaded purses, and buy every one I see.. I guess I will be pulling a few more out and checking... thank you for the education ...

That was an amazing haul after all. It’s good to remember everyone is going thru something, and it’s best to try & be kind. But we’re all very human. I love the Psalms. People from all walks of life who knew both joy and sorrow. Nothing wrong with counting your blessings but sometimes we just need someone to listen to us 🙏🏻

Opening that box made me remember a couple weeks back I was at goodwill and there was a hatbox on the shelf for $5.99. Just plain black, but you were in my head saying open the boxes. It was so light I had figured it was empty. Surprise! 3 brand NWT Woman's fancy hats with a retail value of $100! Yes please. Not my niche but at $2 each I'm willing to try.

NO ONE has it all figured out and everyone has bad times. My sister is dieing of cancer literally, it's taken over her body, it's in control but life goes on and so do we. Thing will get better. 🙂
Your videos are always fun and informative. They are on my list of “must see” videos. You make me feel as though you are sharing with your friends. Since I have learned so much from you, I must let you know that baby blankets you found were machine pieced and tied, not hand quilted. Hand quilting refers to stitching done by hand through all three layers. It is continuous across the whole quilt and shows on the front and back. Hand quilted items are worth quite a bit because of the time it takes. I charge a lot for my hand quilted wall hangings and I don’t think I could ever sell one of my hand quilted quilts as they would cost a mint. Most quilts are machine quilted these days because it is so much faster. Tying uses heavier thread or yarn to tack the layers at intervals across the blanket. When tied, they are comforters. My grandmother wouldn’t call them quilts if they didn’t have quilting stitches. If you list these as hand quilted, someone may be very disappointed after purchasing them.
I really admire your commitment to all that you are up to now! Don't let the jerks win- I talked about you last time I was on, I said it was really nice to see good things happening to a good person and it is just really really true

Danni, you're a wonderful person! Everyone has challenges, and it's through such challenges that we learn to adapt, refocus, and re-energize, though sometimes it's not easy to put on a happy face while doing so. I agree that Kari is such a sweet and loving person, whom it is a pleasure to watch on the videos, and engage in the chats and comments. Like attracts like, so the fact that you and she are like sisters shows just how your energies complement one another and you have such a genuine connection with one another. I love Kari, too, and it's only on film because she's the lovely lady whom when you enter the room uplifts your sprit by just a gaze into her eyes.
Everyone on your channel is fortunate to have both of you, and I KNOW that you have inspired and helped budding entrepreneurs in their markets. I encountered a reseller in a store the other day and told them to subscribe to your channel and to look for your tips because of all the light you put out in the world to help grow other small businesses. And, it's great to see what you select, what's available in your market, and how it compares with my own. You have helped me in my somewhat compulsive collecting of some objects and art, simply because I started paying attention to thrift stores as a source of said items.
So, whenever you get down, just remember you have helped countless people that you do not know via your social media and presence here on UA-cam, and that you and your lovely family, Kari, pups, birds, tortoises, fish, and Boujie (Boujie rates separately as Boujie is Boujie), all bring joy to the channel as well. Thank you for your dedication, since it's not always easy to put yourself in the public eye at all times to get your videos filmed and all. And, any haters with nasty comments about Boujie can just fly away -- come to think of it, I wish they'd just do that anyway and leave content creators alone because there's enough variety to find a channel that doesn't bring out the negativity.
I watch you when I am stressed. It helps me relax. You are so real and nice.
The funny guy in the box is Hasbro Plumbers Pants game. Sells for about $17. You have pieces that hang on the pants till they fall down. Crazy they would make that a game.

My Daddy (yes he forever will be Daddy) that just passed away 2 weeks ago, has called me "Tish the Baby" my entire life, because I was the baby of the family for 8 years until my younger siblings came along. But he never stopped calling me HIS baby, even though he was my Step-Dad. He married my mom with 4 kids, and raised me since I was 1 year old. I get that special " Name" thing. You, my friend, are an amazing Mom.💕

HiI am Helen Dunham from Arkansas. I just wanted to let you know I have removed stains in white just dampen the spot not all the table cloth sprinkle. Stain away plus on it and scrub with a brush let it set a little while. You can get the stain away plus at Wal-Mart in the section with teeth cleaning for dentures.

Lean on your friends and family and they will help you get through this. I want you to know that you helped me get through the pandemic. I've always used retail therapy to improve my mood whenever I felt stressed or depressed (and thrifting is my retail therapy of choice😀 ). During the pandemic when everything was locked down I was very depressed and one of your videos happened to come up in my youtube feed (I don't know how or why but I'm very grateful that it did). Being able to watch your videos helped keep me sane.

When my two boys were still children,they would have LOVED that tiger..the one you said was difficult to ship.I would have probably picked it up just because it reminded me of that time…and it was a good looking tiger.😁🐯🐅
