Much needed update. Thank you. Now to figure out the best options when overloaded with SS characters and to replace my Holiday Resna now that she is S only.
do not misunderstand. S characters are by no means weak, all the contrary. There are a lot of factors in place, including the favorability of the attribute during the month, their crafting proficiencies, among others. Content hasnt favored Ice attribute lately and that's just how it is. Resna is still a superb char.
Thank you for putting this together, must have been a lot of work. I'm having trouble tracking down how to get some of these items though. The Gale Broom for Wind Totori, for example. I cant find it in the recipes list anywhere and the Barrel Wisdom resource doesn't help much in this case
Gale Broom is is in the Extra tab recipes and it's unlocked by completing Combat Research to lvl 50 and gathering crimson moss x2, from the VH Score battles in chapter 9
Gear question: for all of the Ice Attackers, you have Daylight as the recommended Armor equipment. How is it able to compare to other Ice Attacker equipment like Strife Shirt and Fortune Kimono? There are multiple ways I see with how it's the worse option. First, you would actually need three turns to feel the full effects because they only gain the second buff on their turn 2. Since it doesn't start with yellow or red gifts, your unable to have Rorona or Ruven (Ice Boost and Skill Power) as cheap starting traits, and the other armors don't require the course of three turns for max power. If Drachen Elixir was the issue, the Attacker, especially an Ice focused one, is the problem for not having the highest Matk. It can't be an obtainability situation because you also recommend Origin Necklace accesories, which are high end Affinity Tower rewards. And as far as I know, Matk boosting isn't considered a Damage Buff, but even if it is/was, 150% of 6 is only 15%, or 30% after 2 turns, which sounds nice, but thats 3/6 slots dedicated for EDBA instead of Skill Power or Crit Damage.
in presence of other sources of skill dmg or critical damage, stat boosts win ALWAYS. even with just 1 stack of daylight, the 6% matk always wins. it doesn't diminish and it only becomes better as it stacks itself or your base matk increases or you gain other type of buffs. this is why the combo of empel, escha and rorona is so busted for physical types. magic types with no access to matk buffs have 0 chance of competing for damage. Alternatively, If the time it takes to stack daylight is a problem andyou want and instant boost that still beats every other armor, just use Light Vest for 8% instant matk.
Question: is the preferred traits prioritized in the listing? I mean will 2 x Skill Power up be better than 1 Skill Power up and 1 critical damage up? If critical damage up is preferred wouldn't it make sense to put it on top of the list since you can only get one anyways?
it is listed in order of priorities, yes, to avoid repetition. That being said, some characters do prefer double SPU, while some others wants some Crit Dmg thrown in there somewhere depending on the content, items, party members and some other niche considerations. For reference, a healthy ratio for the majority of fights and dps characters (not all), is to get 4x Skill Power and 2x Crit Dmg across all 6 traits, but it never takes precedence over skill power, so it doesn't make sense to put it first.
@@petermuhligchristensen6588 unfortunately it's not that simple. Building the perfect character for every situation is never fixed and it depends a lot on teammates as well so some sort of player agency must be put into it, despite having references of what is commonly correct
Curious, when given the choice between skill power and crit damage on a 9 piece, which stat would you generally prefer? I have pretty bad luck at getting any Xs so it's usually a choice between one of those.
Slash, Strike and Stab attributes are physical, while Fire, Ice, Air and Bolt are magical. You can check the attribute of an enemy's attack while they are casting it, checking the icon on the top of the screen
Are the preferred traits ranked from most preferred (top) to least preferred (bottom)? Which is to say, is Rose Val better off with Damage Buff A or Critical Damage Up?
yes, they are prioritized from top to bottom. EDBA is better than crit dmg on her. Her passive battle maiden bloom is affected by this boost. If you trade 3x crit dmg (180%), you will get 150% crit dmg and 300% burst skill dmg from edba. This is in addition to her 100% crit and 200% burst skill dmg from base passive. Edba also boosts her memoria bonus, if you have it. crit dmg trait is better for very very short fights where you wont get to stack her bloom high enough before the fight ends. For anything else, edba outperforms crit dmg always.
Extremely informative and useful. Thanks for another great tier list Shal.
Thank you so much for your hard work making these videos. I unfortunately can't afford to be a patron at the moment but I wish you all the best x
Its all good thank you very much

@@ShalAppelgreen Ah I'm not quite through with chapter 9 yet that must be it. Thanks!
Love your content, the tierlist and all the affinity towers.
Can I ask, where do you get all the images??
almost all of them are from in game or from the main series games, the official scene arts. For example Sophie's picture is from Atelier Sophie 2.

great! thx

Assuming you have a healthy amount of skill power in the other pieces (100% or close to 100% total), I'd take crit dmg almost every time.
Thank you for the update! Just in time. I have a question: How to know, if an enemy deals physical or magical damage? Thanks in advance. 😊
Slash, Strike and Stab attributes are physical, while Fire, Ice, Air and Bolt are magical. You can check the attribute of an enemy's attack while they are casting it, checking the icon on the top of the screen
@@ShalAppelgreen oh, thx! I've never noticed these little icons before. 😅😂
When you realize that all version of Escha is work for Logy physical.
It is like Escha there just for Logy.
I see your point but she works just as great with any physcial damage dealer, not just logy

@@ShalAppelgreen Ty so much! You're fantastic!
For the preferred traits on attackers, is it better to go Skill Power Up/Critical Damage Up, or do you want two Skill Power Ups?
Aside from a few exceptions, the optimal total trait loadout is 4x Skill Power 2x Crit dmg
