Canada should call Trump's bluff and just drop all tariffs on US goods to zero. He can retaliate by dropping all US tariffs on Cdn goods to zero. Then consumers can all win instead of being victimized by their own federal governments taxing the hell out of imported goods. Done.

Inefficiency is like a disease, and has a habit of damaging the host. In this case, the host is the country applying the tariffs in the first place. Think about it like this. A tariff simply makes more expensive the import of an item from what is otherwise the most economic source. Understand this and take a step away from unnecessary and damaging actions.
