The cheerleading team from Iowa School for the Deaf won the Great Plains School for the Deaf Cheer Championship, proving their passion makes a difference.

Congratulations cheerleading squad of Iowa School for the Deaf. Hearing people for the most part know little to nothing about Deaf culture, so think little of it. You remind us Deaf "culture" is just that. Culture and achievement and excellence is found in all cultures with support, belief and work. Well done.

@@surpriseme1082 They actually use sign language instead of voice for their cheers and it's really cool how you can add a sort of rhythm to ASL to make a beat and combine the dance aspect with the language. This is a Deaf competition and to be hearing or speaking isn't an expectation.
