Steelers fans should like Kaleb Johnson from Iowa for Smith’s system. Basically the zone running version of Najee tbh. Less strength but far better speed. I still like Najee but the writing is on the wall, sadly.
@ Fautanu looked great before his injury. It was disappointing Jones took a step back this year, but it’s way too early to call him a bust. Not to mention that no one would have complained if we took Frazier in the first round and he played exactly the way he did. I’ve been mostly happy with Kahn’s drafts. He can’t control injuries. It wasn’t even the guys with injury concerns who got hurt
Jones has played more games on the right side as a pro than he played on the left in college. If he can’t pass block on the right at this point, he’s unlikely to do any better on the left. It’s such a tired talking point.
@jagmd not close to true. He played left side high-school and collage. He has trained his entire career to play the left. Some can never switch. Different footwork and hand placement. The games he has played on the left in the pro has been very solid. The right side has been peak and valleys. He would already been on the left but Dan can not play right. He is young and raw still. If he is not showing more consistency this season on the left then you have to start wondering. You are not picking up his 5th year option if that's the case. Steelers have to stop killing the OL by playing out of position. Look at Dobbs in LA right now
@jagmd when you spend your entire life learning something a certain way you develop habits and no matter the starts you have in college you still practice and training daily. Many with tons of starts in college never learn to play the opposite side. You have many HOFers that can't play the other side. It's not number of games played lol. It's habits developed over basically a life time. Watch his tape on the left in just Pittsburgh
@ as a professional for two years, he probably has just as many reps on the right. And he wasn’t that great at left. He couldn’t beat out Dan Moore. He also said he practiced both sides in college
Have to and yes it's a deep draft. Harris does not read lanes well for a zone blocking scheme. He needs to know where the hole is going to be and hit it down hill
i think you can the following backs and you need 2: hunter from auburn, martinez from miami, monagai fromrutgers, mullings frommichigan, john from iowa
@MarvyG23 I would say second round if three or more RB's drafted in the 1st round. It has been a long time since that happened, but there is some great talent there. A good RB can really make a difference. Look at NFL playoffs and the college national championship game. RB had a huge impact. Even for the losing teams. See Gibbs on the Lions. QB'S are losing games.
FA acquisitions will determine how the draft and they will have the cap space to be a big player. With cuts and restructure if needed they could free up 90 or 90 plus mil.
Good RB draft class. Stop it! Keeping 22 is guaranteed lack of progress in running game. He is slow and often tries to bounce outside like he is 180 lbs instead of 240. He is sloooow! Time to move on
The first round has to draft best player available of wr/cb/dl.I am not a draft guru but if you are using a set scheme draft guys that fit them.Over the next three months everyone will discuss the best players of certain positions.I do not like either scheme on both sides of the ball yet if they are going to stick with those schemes draft or sign players that will fit what you want to do.IMHO OC and MT want to do what the Bills did offensively and we do not have those type of players.I could be wrong.I heard another Pittsburgh journalist say the Steelers should blitz more,no DUH!They were the lowest blitzing team in the NFL and I do not know if MT cares that they should blitz more.He wants for the most part the same four to blitz and to usually drop seven.I saw the Ravens Bills game and the Bills dropped seven and Lamar had it looked to me at least 5 if not more seconds to pass sometimes and he either threw a touchdown or a big play.Good to great QBs with potent offenses you can not allow no pressure or sacks when they drop back, roll out or step up to throw it.Allowing the long drives and those running to the second level going forward for big yardage must be fixed for 2025.Using the lame excuse we held him to 4 yards a carry on average except for those long runs of 20 plus yards is not letting the entire defense off the hook.Yes RW should be gone because he missed or cannot throw passes in the middle of the field so it was not drawn up much since that is one of his flaws. If you sign JF you better get a QB proven instructor who will work with his flaws.Unless he becomes decisive, can go through his progressions and not take off when the first receiver is not open, when he does take off slide,do not hold the ball out to be knocked out of your hand when running,do not throw the ball in double or triple coverage even though the receiver says I can catch anything thrown near me and prevents him from getting happy feet in the pocket.Khan has to get a dependable route runner with good hands with some speed not only in FA(not a boom or bust like last year)but in the draft. There was little separation from receivers outside of Pickens.CA||| improved a lot,TE Muth is either slower then we thought as in not able to pick up first downs from third downs where he did not get enough for a first down as in the Ravens playoff game or he was injured I do not know.WR Roman Wilson is an unknown.OC Arthur Blank should not allow to bring in Falcons’rejects anymore.
Dt in free agency we don’t got many picks and have way more holes to fill, wr, cb,. Rb I’m Not confident at all with Corey trice as our starting corner that’s absurd take
Good teams have very good RBs. There are 3 Nick Chubb type in draft. How do you pass on that? And one Saquon Barkley to boot. Who cares if there is not a need? Our defense gets abused by opposing RBs. It is time to return the favor.
I would love to pair Nick Chubb and Jaylen Warren together. Love that guy! I know Chubb isn’t who he was but being farther removed from that injury may help a lot. He could kind of emulate what Henry and Barkley did this year.
@ I see your point and kind of agree but there is also a really good chance that we just end up with Benny Snell or Anthony McFarland again. And I really don’t wanna do that lol.
As a Steeler fan I have no faith in this team being able to win anything meaningful in the forseable future. We’re lacking talent in a lot of position and all are best players are aging
QB Resign Fields RB Resign Warren, and even Najee for the right price, if he wants to stay, if no, JK Dobbins is also a FA Don't draft a RB high Cut Ogunjobi, he's always hurt and is not that productive when he does play, move Benton to DT and draft a NT First three rounds draft priority should be: DL, WR, CB R1 DL Kenneth Grant, WR Luther Burden, WR Emeka Egbuka, CB Benjamin Morrison --- one of those players should be available to Steelers R2 CB Maxwell Hairston, WRs Tre Harris, Savion Williams, Elic Ayomanor R3 If we don't get Grant in the first, draft best avail NT
Win in the margins? Analyzing 4th down conversions? What about this defensive staff trying to match the Ravens 6OL packages and with Nickel defense, giving up 9.0 yards per carry, & not adjusting to base until the game was far out of reach? Or the multiple plays where they still pinched their edges with backers walked up/blizing & relying on a free that's 17+ yards deep to be the scraper? Pinching an edge while sending a backer to that side is unsound football. I've never seen anything like it at the NFL level. Maybe address that? Maybe ask how a veteran, defensive head coach could put a defense everyone expected to be elite in terrible positions, over & over again down the stretch before analyzing "the margins"? I know thats a lot to ask from the PPG/Ch.11 crew, but come tf on 🤦♂️.
I will talk this into existence.. the Steelers will draft Kaleb Johnson with a second round pick.. the Steelers will draft Kaleb Johnson with a second round pick.. if you can’t tell. I want Kaleb Johnson… he is going to be the rushing leader in the nfl next season.
Larry O, Mont Adams, and Loudermilk need cut. Same with Minkah. Not worth $26m. No way in hell should they bring back Najee. Stop the narrative about his 1000 yard seasons. That's an outdated stat in a 17 game season. It's only 59 yards a game.
Loudermilk should've been gone 1 sack in 4 years and not a good run stopper, I like to keep Minkah because of him not giving up big plays in the middle of the field and Najee has always been average, only 9 -100yrd games in 68 starts in 4 years and never more than 3 games of a 100 yrds in a season, he's nothing
Dt in free agency we don’t got many picks and have way more holes to fill, wr, cb,. Rb
Larry O is gone. Can't play him 10 mil for his production
Got to get Jones back on the left side
1000 seasons really don't mean that much anymore Chris. 17 games. What's that 60 a game give or take.
Then how come backs don't do it?
Raiders or chargers would be a good fit for Harris
I like ray fittipaldo, I always agree with his opinions and he's not a Tomlin hater
Bishop played better than Sutton. Give that kid more time

@@TravisGunn I like Bhayshup Tuten
You right. Any Speed back to hit the perimeter
I was just about to make an identical Kaleb Johnson post.
Every first round pick we had for about 5 or 6 years has not lived up to expectation. We need to change that with this pick.
Tomlin is the most risk adverse coach ever. Good luck with him going for it on 4th down more..
With what line?
In draft, it should be DL in Rd1, WR in Rd2, and RB in Rd3. Focus on CB and also WR in FA. Maybe another DL.
our TE room are all misfits. 88 won't block, 80 is too slow and 83 is too small.
We need another Heath Miller he done it all and had hands.
Got to get Jones back on the left side. Makes no sense to draft a LT high and play him on the right then draft a RT to play left
Jones has played more games on the right side as a pro than he played on the left in college. If he can’t pass block on the right at this point, he’s unlikely to do any better on the left. It’s such a tired talking point.

@ he had 19 starts in college. Don’t even try to tell me that HS experience means much in the pros, or at least not more than 32 professional starts.

Derrick Harmon DL
Omarion Hampton is a steal, definitely a franchise RB
Benton is playing in the wrong spot to. Bump him out and get a true nose

WR or CB rd 1and 2 pending on the value when you pick. RB 3rd or 4th value will be there in this draft. DL i see in FA. Maybe double dip at WR
Draft a rb in the 3 round
