Especially considering that the life on board is defined step by step by all sort of regulations meanwhile at home is completely different. I am curious about a few things:
    1. How much time did it take you to pack up?
    2. How many trips did you have to take? Did you have to carry everything down that stairway off the ship one at a time?
    3. How much notice do you get from when you get a new contract to when the ship sets off?
    Also, congrats on 1000! Your content is superb! Be sure to post on different subreddits at peak hours and you will earn more subs! That is how you got me!

    • @JeffHK
      @JeffHK  8 років тому

      1.total about 5 hours to pack, i bring ALOT of stuff compare to other people
      2.one trip! Bosun and I was close so he opted to use ship's davit to lower everything in one go, otherwise i would have had to take it one by one haha
      3. usually 1 month

    • @JeffHK
      @JeffHK  7 років тому

      if you guarantee you will board a ship of that company in a spesific time like in 3 months they may give you salary. depends on company. some companys' contract has a ratio like 6/2 or 4/1 it means 4 months work and 1 month holiday paid.

      Wow. $24,000 a year for an apartment you live in a couple of months per year. Maybe your relatives use it while visiting Hong Kong while you are away.

      Depends how you define it: tonnage, weight, volume, displacement, length, cargo capacity by weight, cargo by volume are all ways.

      JeffHK is it typical to be allowed to bring that level of volume or does it vary by ship? Also it seemed you have quite a bit of personal clothes, what do you use for, isn't the job uniformed?

    What happens to your ship when you sign off? Does the entire crew sign off and they have a second crew? Do only a few sign off at a time and the ship keeps running? Or does the ship sit idle for a time?

    • @JeffHK
      @JeffHK  7 років тому +1

      +timaahhh sign off individually with crew replacements straight away, the ship is never idle
