I just saw this movie for the first time last night, June 30. The clip from an hour 32 minutes into movie sounds all too familiar. I’d have liked to have seen this movie about the time Trump came down the escalator....not that it would have helped. So there’s nothing new under the sun....
@@stevenreyes3680Telling the truth when everyone else is hypnotizing the public with lies always takes its toll! It seems you didn’t understand Katherine Hepburn’s character’s explanation of who Forrest really was!
I don't think the movie story is anything like DJT's reason for becoming President. He didn't want to become President, but felt he had to since no one with 'win-ability' was.
I think Trump ran for President because there was no other "thing" for him to conquer, and it was a fluke that he won. But he did a great campaign in terms of appealing to the issues of a large group of people who felt no one was listening to their concerns and needs. He continues to talk about running because he didn't get re-elected and his ego is hurt. People forget he was orginally a Democrat who became a Republican which has always made me feel he does what is advantageous for him and not really something he believes in politically, kind of how I feel about Bernie Sanders running on the Democratic ticket as a Socialist Candidate.
Life imitates art.
Excellent film.
Great movie
I posted about this on FB back in 2015 and the similarities. The problem has been around for a long time.
Way ahead of its time.
Actually, just ahead of OUR time. These "times" keep comin' 'round and we don't learn from them therefore forced to repeat, repeat...

I just saw this part of it on TV. I was shocked by how this seems to be happening now. Thanks to Donnie the traitor.
This was inspired by the smedley butler ku against FDR..
This movie explains the entire plot of today’s Republican Party and how they really feel about their followers
It's both parties. The Communist Democrats are the ones spewing lies and rhetoric and the RINOs are right with them.
It also explains the entire plot of today's Democratic Party and how they really feel about people who don't think like them and their followers.
Good thing we didn’t have Fox “News” way back when...although it’s certainly taken it’s toll...

It's on TV right now, and my jaw just dropped. It's exactly what's happening right now, in this country.
Prescient. Today's right-wing.
The more things change the more...
If you look at it objectively it is also today's left-wing.
You spelled Left Wing wrong

That's what he wants you to believe. You have to see the Barron Trump books too.
