Ms. Jade fading to obscurity doesn’t surprise me. Missy Elliott had this habit of putting females on and then leaving them “high and dry” (Nicole Wray, Lil’ Mo, Mocha, Sharaya J, Jasmine Sullivan, Jessica Betts, to name a few).
Really you can add Aaliyah to that list too. Most Aaliyah's later hits were written by Static, including her biggest hit, Try Again. Supposedly, Missy had issues with Aaliyah's label (no surprise) and refused to work on the album, and the only reason Tim is on the album for those handful of songs is because Aaliyah asked him to (and he was in love with her lol).
