The finisher comparison series returns with WWE 2K22 going head to head with SVR 2007! Most of the newer animations (maybe not all...?) do of course look better now, but some of the older ones do still hold up pretty well all things considered. What games should we feature next time? Stay badass. #TEAM101
I dunno when you'll bring back Things you might not know about WWE Games, but I got one for SVR07 if you never showed it. After doing all the challenges in the game, you've one left, being Mickie James vs Great Khali aka Featherweight vs Ultra Heavyweight. I can't remember what difficulty setting it's on, but it was HARD. If you beat Khali, you....don't really get anything other than a thank you message from the devs. At the time, I was livid, but looking back on it, acknowledgement from the devs is pretty cool.
@@malakai.black90 I'd guess cause it ISN'T completely broken. Only partially, which isn't as bad but still is rough. Ntm the gameplay is actually fun, and I say that as an AEW fan.
@@ThisIsCSDX Instead, the modalities are broken. I cannot create PPV in universe mode, in myGM I cannot complete the year because the game crashes. All of this is happening after patch 1.12. I spent $ 100 to get a game that worked 100% (especially after waiting 2 1/2 years)
I think the problem with the newer animations is that while good, they lack the impact that the SVR ones have. The old Pedigree for example looks substantially more impactful than what we have now.
The animations themselves play a huge part obviously but the ring physics change it up tremendously as well. The ring mat and the ropes aren't really phased as much by moves anymore. They added in rope bounces in a patch to 2k20 but made it more subtle for 22 which looks cool but the more pronounced mat bounces are a must.
Yeah modern moves are mo-capped, but they're mo-capped on a ring where the mat is heavily padded (obviously for the safety of the mo-cappers as they might have to take a ton of takes of something)...so you lose the impact. It's a big reason why I prefer the hand animated moves from the old games...they looked over the top sometimes, but man did a Goldberg Spear or Lesnars F5 in HCTP just look devastating.
I'm assuming they take those out because in my career or when you create a superstar you can put moves like Booker T's kick without having to do the sinarooni after
I miss the outrageousness of some of the move animations from SvR 2007. Like JBL’s Clothesline or Edge’s Spear. The animation actually gave those moves a real sense of “Oh Shit, that had to hurt!”
@@antdog375af10 Not all moves. The jackhammer, the spear and People's Elbow looked downright awful and phoned in, and not at all realistic for quite a while in the name of "realism"

I really wish they didn't take out so many moves. I don't get why they remove them instead of adding to what they have. Like the moonsault stomp. That was on of the best top rope moves in the game for the last few games.
I remember the variety of moves from old games like Smackdown Here Comes The Pain and Smackdown Know Your Role. These newer games don’t stand a chance against those in terms of move variety.
@@rogerrabbit132 Still dumb to remove 100s of moves for no real reason. Like the running sto used to be a devastating move on htcp. The last 4 maybe 5 games the reanimated it to a very weak move. It wouldn't even get a 1 count
That and I remember some of the old career modes you got to choose your voice for your character now it’s either just subtitles or the same voice and it’s normally just subtitles

the main 3 I really miss are The Last Ride, Eddie's Frog Splash and the Clothesline from Hell, those 3 moves felt so hard hitting back then, and the new ones just feel limp in comparison
All they need to do is to stop making the finishers look flat. 2k22 looks like they fall straight on concrete instead of a wrestling canvas. Theres no bounce.
I still believe that the Clothesline From Hell, Book End, Eddie's Frog Splash, Rock Bottom, Last Ride, Edge's Spear, and the RKO were FAR superior looking in SvR. Newer games have almost made it a mission to ruin the Clothesline from Hell animation. SvR 2007 and the old Raw 2 had the best versions.
Interesting. You usually do a 10 year difference with these comparisons. I expected WWE 2K22 vs. WWE '12 but I understand that there are some superstars in 2k22 that aren't in 12 ( Umaga, JBL, Cactus Jack etc )
Literally all of them in Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 are better in all a lot of them you can actually feel the impact and weight of the moves but in WWE 2k22 they hit like a feather
Both works are very game, I really miss surfing the Internet to search for the latest wwe SVR 2007 when I was studying in the school computer class, hahaha I miss THQ
Some of those moves looked cooler in SvR2007, but the glaring flaw was that they were completely disabled in certain match types. Imagine being unable to use the 619 at all in the Rumble, in a game that came out the year Rey won the Rumble
The Kane 07 one is so funny because he has a hair flip animation from when he had hair. He shaved his hair 4 years before the game came out. I think they kept using it for years after it too. Anyway some are better, some are worse, but I wouldn't play either game.
That animation debuted on Smackdown Just Bring It (2001) and would be used until SvR 08, on SvR 09 a new animation debuted and likely it's the worst Chokeslam animation they ever come up with, as the character taking the move is pretty much dropped in its headand flip in its belly. The old animation would still be available to use in both SvR 09 and 10 before being scrapped in SvR 11.
SVR were more animated, hence the impacts looks way better. 2k series is going for realism. They could've kept the animated impact for some moves though, without people batting an eye, surely.
Kinda wish they can update bookers hair. I know we have king booker but I want like 2006 booker t hair. His hair looks like it’s from 2002 but they gave him his new tattoo
Sweet chin was way better back then. 2k for some reason can’t get the time when right. When the opponent turns around the kick should be landing. Instead when he does turn around, hbk is still tuning up the band. As a hbk fan this annoys me every new wrestling game lol
I don't know what people are saying the older animations almost never sold the move. The one taking the hit would move around after which lost the impact of the finisher
Currently still watching the video but had to pause and comment that the old Clothesline From Hell legit looked like he broke Lawlers neck lol. I remember years ago seeing it for the first time. I use the Move in 2k22 as a general Clothesline for my character 😂 that's how weak it looks
Definitely 2K22 is better. Just in general smoothness and flow. The lower games were very awkward and stiff in animation due to have to cut out a lot of frames in order to make them fit. The new Last Ride animation is so bad. The old one literally just needed the pin combo to it and it would of been perfect. Especially since the new one looks sped up like all the animations that were in the new moves pack
SvR 07 I never like how they make umaga first off he not slim or even have abs lol I of course always like 2k22 they doing no extra shit with finishers
Wow not Surprised there’s not much difference in graphics. 22 is just a bit better but that’s because the audience look real compared to the card board cut outs in 2007. The finishers look a lot more explosive in 2007. 95% of the finishers look better in 2007. Looks like WWE 2k gots a lot of work to do. 15 years of work!!! Whether he does both ropes depends on how close he is to a set of ropes
No , that's glitch happens commonly in 2k22, just drag opponent in middle b4 hitting finisher to avoid that
There're still a lot of glitches with the ropes in general; in the next patch they have to fix more of them
@@brysonoduyela5779 oh wow really???
@@HarshKumar-wu6jv I honestly did not know that. Thank you.
SvR 07 I never like how they make umaga first off he not slim or even have abs lol I of course always like 2k22 they doing no extra shit with finishers
Umaga got a 6 pack lol
Svr 2007 is the best
Wow not Surprised there’s not much difference in graphics. 22 is just a bit better but that’s because the audience look real compared to the card board cut outs in 2007. The finishers look a lot more explosive in 2007. 95% of the finishers look better in 2007. Looks like WWE 2k gots a lot of work to do. 15 years of work!!! Although it is a lot better than the 2k2020 disaster.
