I’ve never made a single article of clothing in my life, but as of recently I’ve become really interested in doing so. Thank you for this tutorial! I think I’m going to try it with some plaid fabric :)
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Ezekiel Franklin Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This is really good! I have never made trousers as the fit scares me so much but you are so clear in this video and gingham pants are such a gorgeous trend so I am going to buy some fabric right now and have a go! Thank you x
You did a really nice job on both!!! I think I like the blue ones better because of the classic look with the waist band and invisible zipper. The fabric/colors are really fun too!
you deserve all the love in the world, this video's instructions are super easy to follow and you cut straight to the point, which is something i love. can't wait to try this out!!
u know the skinny kick/skinny flare plaid pants from urban outfitters?? would you know how I could go about making those? like the skinny pant into like a slight kick at the bottom is so confusing to me
thank you so much for this tutorial! i made some culottes from cloning my own and your video was a huge help with the sewing parts and also makes me more confident to try making slimmer trousers too :)
Hi there, I'm just wondering how much elastic you used compared to your waist size? How much less? I have waist 29" and am confused as to how much elastic I will need to use for it to stretch but not too much. I love love love this tutorial, thank you!!❤️
Hi! I don't exactly have a rule of thumb, but you definitely don't want it to be too tight. I think it might be appropriate to use a length of elastic that is 29" and then the overlap when you sew the two ends together should provide enough tension. But if you can, try it on your waist and use the amount that feels best :) I hope that made sense...
Made complete sense thank u so much❤️ I found 3 metres of vintage 60s floral fabric for £2 in a charity shop so going to make these tonight, I'm so excited☺️☺️☺️ thank u again honey Xx
I was pretty scared to use a sewing machine but theres a lot of youtube tutorials on a lot of machines! I totally recommend the singer esteem II for beginners (and it's pretty affordable :)
SOME ONE PLEASE ANWSER!!! I am a little new to sewing. I am making pants for my halloween custom! I followed this tutorial (which is amazing and helped me a lot!) but i got my measurements wrong around my hips. What am i supposed to do? Do I wait to put my elastic in??
If the hip measurement is too big, you can go back and make the side seams bigger. Aka sew farther from the edge when sewing the sides up... This will make your seam allowance on the inside bigger because you're taking in the hips, making the hips smaller for you. If you made the hip measurements too small, you'll likely have to restart. Elastic at the waist is to get your waistband over your hips- because most people have different hip and waist measurements, elastic allows the waist portion to stretch over the wider hip measurement. This means if your hip measurements were too small, the elastic waistband won't help much. Good luck!
@@christyblue5963 Yeh, I meant, she used what fabric is for her measurements. I am not familiar with meters, only yards and feet lol. But I’m guessing you used over 6ft? I can make pants with 2 yards ( 6 feet) of fabric, or 44 inches wide by 6ft.
Hey, nice informative video. Wonder why you dont have more subscribers. Anyways, can you pls link the fabric that u use(or similar) and the zipper in description box, that helps a lot for sewing students like me. Also can you recommend a decent portable sewing machine in a budget? Asking you because you seem to know about sewing stuff😀
Hi! I linked some of the things in the description. I can't link the fabric though, as it's from a Danish website. I think you should check out withwendy's video on sewing machines, I am currently using my grandmother's old machine and am definitely not an expert :) But thanks for watching! :)
hi idk if you need this but the darts help shape your garment better so basically you would fold a triangle longest sides together (right sides together) and it makes those darts. i’m sorry this is really hard to explain by just writing it lol, i’ll link a video

This was a rally nice and simple tutorial! I have been wanting to try making my own pants with a while! what material did you use?
It’s called Gingham. She has it is the title of the video.
These were so nice I wish I knew how to use a sewing machine

Cool pants. I would try making my own but I don't own any high waisted pants to trace :(
Make your own. So add more for the waist.
hi! random question but how much fabric did you buy to make these?☺️
Measure yourself, then add half a yard more.
Hmm.. blue ones great, pink ones in my opinion looks more like pijama pans, thank you for cool video
No problem😊
So so cute😍😍
When cutting out the fabric pieces do you put them right sides together?
it doesnt matter ! Usually fabric cut on fold is cut with the wrong sides together tho
How much fabric is needed for the pant for one
Great video!!! How much fabric did you use specifically?
She used what she needed. You use what you need.
@@SparkyOne549 the person probably asked to know how much to buy...
I needed nearly a whole bedsheet, so probably 2m/2m or well 1.50m/2m

They turned out so nice!! And I love the fabric you used 💕😍 How did you finish the raw edges on the inside? They look super clean!!
Thank you! I don’t have a serger, so I just sew with a zig-zag stitch along all the edges😊

Do you think this would work with a slightly stretchy fabric? I’m so excited to make these
I think they would! Especially since they are made to be fitted
Como se llama la tela
I love these :D
Hi how many meters/yards of fabrics did you used?
It doesn’t matter. Buy for your own measurements.
Me seeing the Title: you have my curiosity
Me seeing the Thumbnail: now you have my attention
Did you put interfacing in the waistband for structure/stiffness?
Yes I did😊 it has to be able to take quite a lot of strain😅
What type of fabric did you use and how much of it did you need?
You only buy what you need. You find out what you need by measuring your pants.
What kinds of fabrics are recommended??
Since you don’t know the answer, i suggest you learn a lot more before starting.
hey! I dont really understand how the darts work, can anyone explain or link a video about it?
hi idk if you need this but the darts help shape your garment better so basically you would fold a triangle longest sides together (right sides together) and it makes those darts. i’m sorry this is really hard to explain by just writing it lol, i’ll link a video
ua-cam.com/video/m9x-i-txyfo/v-deo.html here’s the video i used the first time i made darts :)
Please tell me that your fabric is stretchy
Ok i will tell you it’s stretchy, but i would be lying.

can i use this tutorial to make shorts instead of pants?
Yeah definitely! Just trace a pair of shorts instead or shorten the length if you use a pair of pants😊
What's the name of the song wow
what if i don’t have a pair of trousers that fit well
You can buy a pattern for cheap, use a pair of jeans or other pants/shorts that have no stretch, or work from your measurements
where did u get this fabric! also what brand is ur sewing machine
It´s a Bernina. Don't know which model tho.
What is the fabric material?
Read the title of the video.
